When the majority of a clothing rack is marked as discount don't put a full priced item on it. Went to buy a coat that I believed was discounted because the surrounding coats of the same brand were discounted and it was full price. It was a $14 dollar difference to what I thought I was purchasing and I know it may not seem like a huge difference but it's a very misleading tactic to get people to spend more money than they intend to. The way this Walmart was set up was incredibly confusing. There was no consistent flow to the way the aisles were put together and it'd be easier for people to look for things elsewhere instead of wasting their time trying to find it here. read more

What a freaking shit show this store is! Stood waiting over 20 minutes for help and pressed the button at least 8x. An Employee spotted us and bolted. Another Employee walked by pretending they didn't see us. Eventually the previous Employee came back stuttering acting surprised we were still standing there claiming "she was getting help" for us. While standing in the store I called Customer Service asking if any Employees came to work today and after explaining the situation she would get someone. Instead of paging she called the dept, no answer. Finally a male Employee walking by who actually wanted to be there and do his job helped us. Then walked by this display. Does this grab anyone's attention and scream "buy me" ‍ Take notes from Wegmans, they do it better! read more

Walmart Supercenter - Department Stores Near Me - Newark, New York

I went there to get a cross necklace for my son. I worked 3rd shift at the time and the only time I could get it was early morning. We waited at the jewelry counter for a half hour. Finally someone had shown up and stated they needed to get the key. Another half hour goes by. Then the manager asks if we have been helped. She then states that she will get the employee whom has the key to help us. Another 40minutes go by. At this point we are angered. Two associates working at the registers asked if anyone has helped us yet. They knew that the manager was slacking off as she wandered off laughing and joking with other employees and not once looked for the employee with the key to the jewelry counter. After a total 2 hour wait someone finally came up and had gotten the necklace. Poor management, poor service, an absolute joke. read more

Don't try to use coupons here. They'll treat you as if you're stealing. I've been denied an entire cart of groceries, TWICE because they said my Sunday given paper coupons were photo copied. I requested a manager whom confirmed they were NOT photocopied. But said once a cashier has refused service, they respect their employees opinions. read more

I have never heard of this rule. Went into Walmart today picked up some groceries also grab a six pack of hard iced tea. Whet up to the register and the lady asked for my ID and I reached for my wallet and I had forgotten my wallet at home so I told my wife to use her ID my wife is in her 60s I'm in my late 50s my wife shows her ID the lady says I can't sell it to you because he doesn't have his ID told us we both had to have an ID proving we were over 21 actually reached in and grabbed the six pack out of our cart and wouldn't let us go to a manager or another register with that six pack finally we stood there and demanded to see a manager the manager took us over to another register and checked us out no problem I think my visits to Walmart Or going to be a lot less because of one Bad employee. I couldn't believe it so if somebody goes there with their family picks up a six pack of beer or any alcoholic beverage everybody in the family has to have an ID to prove there over 21. So if your Kidd's are with you better find someplace else to purchase your alcohol. read more

I have been ordering my groceries in through Wegmans via Instacart but heard great things about Walmart's Pickup service. I tried the service at another Walmart location and wasn't a great experience so we decided to try the Walmart in Newark. We arrived early and were planning on having to wait. I called when we got there to let them know we arrived and which location we were in. The associate, Parker, was friendly, kind and efficient and came right out with our groceries. He made such a wonderful impression we will only use the Pickup service at Walmart in Newark going forward. Highly recommend ordering online for pickup at Walmart in Newark. read more

We recently moved here and have a farm. We tried 3 times to set up a tax-exemption for farm purchases (from the Newark, NY Walmart) and the store was unable to process it while we were there. We were told to come back during the day when someone who knew how to handle it was available. Later, I called and spoke to an assistant manager who did not understand what I was talking about and then asked someone who had me repeat everything and I was told that someone would have to input it into the system and then give us a card to make purchases with. They had no idea how long that process would take - it could take 2 trips to the store I was told (40 miles round trip). I then asked if there was a way that I could process the on-line shopping cart I had for a tax-exempt purchase by uploading my completed form (like we do at Tractor supply, Blain, & other places). She said no that it was a corporate decision. The shopping cart was at that store branch, for pickup from existing stock, but she started saying goodbye, sorry we can't help you, and before I was finished talking, hung up on me. 5:50PM June 4th. I have repeatedly asked walmart associates about why a 62 year old woman cannot buy a 40 B bra that is not a pushup bra and the ones I used to buy are no longer even in the store. I am trying to understand why these people continue to run out of products that I have been puchasing there for at least 5 years.
