My husband and I couldn't ask for a better Dr.in fact we have a habit of judging other Drs we have to see with Dr Weg and most times we are disappointed because they aren't as attentive he is.yes it's true most times you have a long time in the waiting room to see him but once your with him he treats you like you are his only patient.and yes sometimes you are on hold a long time to make an appointment but those ladies handle multiple jobs answering phones ,signing in people in signing people out, answering questions and dealing with so many different personalities during their day in my opinion Dr Wegs pros out way the cons. read more

This is my first visit to Drs. Arnold and Russell Weg. The waiting room contained about ten chairs on each side. I took an empty chair in the middle of the room. It was empty because a patient who sat in the parallel row was coughing AND COUGHING AND COUGHING QUITE LOUDING FROM HIS EITHER CHEST OR LUNGS. He was not masked nor was he asked to do so. Dr. Weg is a really good doctor. Good Diagnostician. But his office staff is not only the most rude and unprofessional, I've and others have experienced, but actually out of compliance with modern hippa norms. They yell personal questions to patients sitting in the waiting room (with others listening) about what meds they're on and other medical issues. All 3 women who manage the Park Ave office are the same: obnoxious, rude, impatient, non-discreet and frankly, homely and frumpy. The fact that all 3 are the same underscores bad management in them not being held accountable by the practice owners. How they've let them operate w/impunity and disrespect for years is unfathomable. I'd give 5 stars for medical advice, 0 stars for service and office support which plays a HUGE role in medicine today. To the 3 ladies who staff the office on park (not the nurses who are amazing) - all heavy-set brunettes - perhaps it's time to move on to a non-patient contact job where you can file paper all day and not deal w/humans, including many vulnerable ones. read more

Dealing with Dr. Weg's staff has been the most difficult, frustrating and unpleasant medical experience I have ever had. Not only are they utterly incompetent, they also do not care about your well being or time. Dr. Weg is attentive and thorough but it is not worth the misery that is dealing with his staff in person, over the phone, and the inevitable 1-2 hour wait to be seen. read more

The reception staff has been completely miserable to deal with. They leave you on hold for WAY too long every time, and it it seems like its on purpose to be honest. Hallelujah, I finally left Dr Weg and have been able to move on from the evil receptionists. Dr. Weg is an old school internist that also specializes in gastro diseases. It is because of his demeanor and patience that I endure the staff that works in his office. I get it, that is modern medicine these days, but it is like the staff gets trained on how to be unprofessional over the telephone and in person. (FYI, by staff I mean the admin stuff, not the nursing staff, who are also great) Be prepared to wait and be pleasantly surprised if you are seen within 15 minutes of your appointment time. read more

1) you will wait an obscene amount of time and the staff is a bit brusque. 2)scheduling an appointment can be difficult and frustrating. I started seeing Dr Arnold around 2014 for a very bad thyroid issue. He was very nice and seemed to care. I liked him so much I would pray for him. Then I got cancer and was illegally evicted on discrimination from my apt. I never really got to deal with my cancer and am very sick and in much pain due to the two year court battle and homelessness that corrupt judges and lawyers and doctors brought to me. How does Dr Arnold fit in, well all I needed was a letter from him for the court with my Medical's and stating why being thrown out on the street could destroy my already frail health. Dr Arnold would not write this letter. I had an appointment with him and he did not show up for work that day. I made another appointment and he called in sick again. I knew he did not want to see me but perhaps was covering himself legally by not showing up for work when I had my appointment. He was probably in the office and I was lied to. So for over two years I have not seen a thyroid doctor and am very ill. Why, his inhumanity put me on the streets for over a year. I am now deeply afraid of doctors and don't trust them. I believe most become doctors for the millions they make only. If this man whom I thought was so righteous can be so cold who can I ever trust. My advice if you are very ill stay away from this man. His morals are questionable. read more

When I went to his office the first time, he seemed pleasant and attentive, and heard out the gastric distress that I was in. Unfortunately, his staff as a bit rude and dismissive.He did a colonoscopy, and had me submit a stool sample. Without any further communication from him, I got a telephone call from a staff member who told me not to eat dairy and hung up the telephone as if that would be then end of the line between me and them. (That turned out not to be the answer to my problem). About a half our later, another staff member left a voicemail message for me saying that I should ring back to get my test results. when I called back, I told the person who answered that I was told to call for test results. She screamed "What test results"? when I told how should I know - I was told to ask for test results. She also reported that I should avoid dairy and hung up on me. Needless to say, I won't be dealing againt with those vicious incompetents. read more

I was the youngest patient at Dr. Weg's office by approximately forty years. That doesn't really factor into my decision to use a doctor, but Dr. Weg seemed to have little connection to my generation and was unable to accurately advise me regarding a medication I was considering taking. In fact, he rudely declared "I didn't know it would be THAT type of visit" in response to a medical question. His office is impossibly difficult to reach (expect to hold for long periods of time or receive no answer at all when you call). I would not recommend Dr. Weg to anyone. I find it hard to believe his client-base is so large, but it seems to comprise of people he's worked with for decades. Perhaps back then his office wasn't such a travesty. read more

Dr. weg is a very caring, compassionate, and extremely well versed gastroenterologist. He not only looks at the current existing issues but takes into consideration the body in its entirety. He has fixed a multitude of my issues. I had been to many other doctors previously to Dr. Weg and upon my first visit he had diagnosed me correctly and knew exactly all my symptoms with the little information that I provided. In addition, Dr. weg staff is super nice, competent, pleasant. He not only have great expertise in his primary fields,however, has a wealth of information concerning any aspect of medicine. Glen is clearly a relative or friend of Dr. Weg or Claudia. Perhaps he goes golfing or running with him on the weekends or is trying to score points with his girlfriend Claudia. Don't be fooled by the positive reviews of Dr. Weg. He is a terrible provider and his staff is just as bad. Claudia is mean and rude and not someone I would ever want to meet again. If there is a more empathic more skilled more scholarly more competent physician in New York I would be very surprised. Recommended to me by a physician friend who is also his patient because he felt no individual was better qualified to manage my extreme anxieties coupled by equally disturbing symptoms. He was spot on. Although perhaps the wait to see Dr. Weg can be harrowing at times it is also important to realize all of his patients are provided equivalent time and equally beneficent care. When you leave you are armed with knowledge reassurance and the sense you are being cared for in a conscientious punctilious correct way. I feel perfectly safe being Dr. Weg's patient. Everything is explained options explored as well as medicationd and possible potential procedures. Indeed the complexities of gastrointestinal care are carefully explicated and each patient leaves feels treasured. The staff is occasionally brusque and clearly overworked but actually reflect the compassion inherent in the office and thid ultimately comes through. This doctor is not only unusual in his approach and totally focused on his patients as individuals who he endeavors to know but is nothing if not a unique human being. I called Dr.Weg's office and was told that Dr. had time during his afternoon schedule and could see me right away (while I found this odd considering they said that appointments were made up 8 months in advance) I agreed. I told the person over the phone that it would take me a minimum of 30 minutes to get to the Queens office from Midtown. Despite this, the staff told me that the Dr was in with someone and had one patient waiting; He could take me within the 30 minutes it took me to get there. Rearranging my afternoon appointments I made my way to Queens. Upon arriving I was told that 2 people were now ahead of me and that it would be 20 minutes before he could see me. I proceeded to wait, HOWEVER, 45 minutes later there was still 1 patient ahead of me. This was a WASTE of my time and couldn't wait any longer. Not to mention the majority of the patients are geriatric. Please don't waste your time I'm sure there is a more respectful Doctor and Staff in NY. I'm continuing my search. read more

We went to see Doctor Weg despite the fact that the reviews said he made you wait a long time to see him. Because the reviews said he was a good doctor, we were willing to wait. After waiting about three hours, he finally saw us. He was really annoyed with me because my son (the patient) forgot something important to say to him (in regards to why he was being seen). After a few minutes, I realized the meter was expiring for the third time. I wanted to go put more quarters in the meter; then, he turns to his secretary and says "look at this one" and made a criticism about me not wanting to get a ticket. In the few minutes that it took to put quarters in the meter, he had already completed the examination. So I told the secretary "I had questions to ask him," and she said "He is already done with you. You have a prescription. Just give me the name of the pharmacy." I asked which kind of medication did he prescribe. The secretary respond "Lady, I am not the doctor." Thus, i could not see the doctor or get an answer from her either. The only thing I found to be true about the reviews is that he makes you wait a long time to see him. He and his secretary are arrogant, rude, and unprofessional.
