Money making scheme. He used to be a good dr but now he won't refill your prescription bc he wants you to come in every 3-6 months to make money. To make it worse, you have to pay the entire amount upfront and get reimbursed when insurance pays (even if you have top level care). Very disappointing, would definitely not recommend. Found this doctor thru zocdoc, in the coronavirus times. My mom needed to see a doctor asap. He had teledoc appointment that same day. We spoke on the phone thru video chat. He was really through and explained everything to me and my mom. We even had meds prescribed on the spot. Today we came to his actual office in the city. This is her follow up appointment. Parking would usually be a crazy nightmare but wit this pandemic going on i found parking. The office is calm, but small don't bring a group with you when you come. The staff is fast and helpful. The service at this doctors office is absolutely disgusting. The receptionist was rude and would not tell me her name when I asked. She hung up the phone and repeatedly ignored my calls. I am sorry I have to write this review. I scheduled my appointment as a new patient based on all the great reviews of Dr. Nikrouz. I am sad to say I never got a chance to meet him, so this review is not a reflection of him. I am very concerned about the lack of precautions the office is taking about the pandemic. The office does COVID testing, so I would expect them to be very strict about sanitation. This was not the case. During my experience, the waiting room was very small with limited airflow. The receptionist was very pleasant, but coughing and clearing her throat a lot. This made me very uncomfortable, but what made the most uncomfortable is when I saw that she was wearing her mask under her nose. Small space + COVID testing center + Coughing receptionist w/o proper mask-wearing was enough for me to leave without seeing the doctor. Dr Nikrouz is great. His office is close by from where I work. I randomly found him when i was sick and needed to get seen before i leave for my vacation. I scheduled my apt through zocdoc and ran on my lunch break. Since I usually have very limited time, I was pleasantly surprised that there's no wait time, you get to be seen by the doctor actually at the time of your appointment. Recently went to doctor Nikrouz for the first time after my friend insisted on going to him. I arrived a few minutes before my appointment and was immediately helped and greeted by the receptionists. This the most unprofessional experience I have had with any doctor in my life. I went there for annual physical, which is completely covered by my insurance. I was told by him that I would need to pay $250 more when I went to collect my results as it will count as a second visit. I requested them to fax the results to me as I don't need another appointment to collect the results but he wouldn't agree to fax it to me. I have been having annual physical my entire life but this the first time I have been told that I get charged extra for the same purpose. I had high hopes for this doctor based of the reviews on Zocdoc, but when I walked in I was instantly disappointed. I could tell what type of experience it was going to be based off of the office. The office was dark and not that clean. The lady that was at the front desk was working on her makeup when I came in. Also, the lady at the front desk also took my blood which I thought was odd. While waiting to be seen she was talking to a patient on the phone insisting that the doctor is very busy and does not ever take patient calls (another red flag) Once I was called back I was sat in a dark room and the doctor pounded on my back some, listened to my heart and breathing, asked me some questions and that was it. When I asked how I would get my blood test results back he told me he normally doesn't do this but he would call me to briefly go over my results but would not answer any questions I had about it because that would require an appointment. Two days later I receive a call from an unknown number and I don't answer. The number leaves a voicemail giving my results and says if you have any questions call to make an appointment. After confirming that he accepts my insurance in full, Nikrouz began performing a whole battery of tests, having me come in at least weekly. After all was said and done, he billed me with a huge invoice informing me he does not accept my insurance anymore.
