I was lucky enough to try this place on the very first day that they started serving brunch. I think it went well and I hope they continue to hold brunch.
At 11am, there was a little line by the door so I'm glad we had a reservation. Once seated, we were offered drinks but we all opted for the complimentary coffee, tea, juice, and smoothies that are included with the brunch. It costs €19,90 per person, which seems very reasonable considering the quality. I did see a table nearby that ordered a bottle of bubbly; now that is living!
The cold table was very nice with several types of salad, including one that was half made up of fresh herbs, shrimp, tomatoes, cucumber, a few dressings, and toppings. Now the bread table had the classic Karelian pasty, several different types of bread, croissants, whipped cream, jam, butter, and a waffle iron! So you can make your own waffles!! This is a lot better than most "western" hotel breakfast buffets I have been to.
The hot table was also good. The bacon was.. as buffet bacon usually is. Oily and not crisp. But the flavour was good. The giant meatballs and deep-fried cauliflower were easily the best, of course with mashed potatoes. And there were two nice sauces, although they were not labeled.. so I'm not sure what I ate, haha. There were also two kinds of sausages, which I didn't try.
As we ate gluttonously, our server came by to take dirty plates without openly judging us. We appreciate that, lady! Definitely arrive hungry because there are so many nice offerings. read more
