Whether a huge backyard, small patio, sunroom, or somewhere in between...they got you covered. Even if you enjoy a bird watching hobby, or just want to add sound (wind chimes) or water features (fountains) or color (flowers galore) or whimsy (fairy garden) or a seat (or several) for relaxing or entertaining ...you can find it here. Let's say you want fresh fruits or vegetables from local farmers...you can find it here. There's even a great gift box idea where you can create a personalized box of canned produce, sauces, etc. I really enjoyed walking around this large place while enjoying free fresh water, fresh fruit samples and a (purchased) cold ice cream sandwich that was DELICIOUS! It's unfortunate I live 2500 miles (and a plane ride) away. But I'm going back there with lots of ideas from my afternoon at Cold Creek.

I have never seen such a comprehensive collection of camellias, and you can find basically any variety (or something very close to it) that you're looking for. They also have a fantastic carnivorous plant section that is a lot of fun to just browse. The workers here are lovely and clearly love their job. There's always one close by to answer questions and help decided on what to get. Cold creek can be on the pricier side compared to big box stores, but you definitely pay for what you get here, and the extra cost is worth it!

From the water wheel out front leading the way into grassroots to all of the thoughtful details and designs throughout the store it's a beautiful location and a lovely experience. There is a large gift and supply shop. There is a green house divided by part sun to full sun plants. Plenty of full sun and outdoor plants surround the greenhouse and even if you aren't actually in the market for plants, you'll enjoy the beautiful stroll outside through the landscaping section, complete with waterfall water feature & fish! I came into your store at 9 pm thinking Halloween might be on sale, it was not on sale yet, but numerous employees told me it would be at midnight. So I did some shopping, bought a soda and sat in a chair, off and on for nearly three hours with at minimum of seven or more employees using their scanner to check and see if it had been placed on sale and each one telling me midnight. Then another customer said, if a man called David is the manager here tonight he will not be of any help at all lady. Concerned, I go to an actual register, this grandma is so very tired after a long night already of spoiling our neighborhood kiddos. The girl at the register was very kind, said she would ask a manager if she could go on and check me out and confirm the markdown was at 12. It was ten minutes until 12. She brings back a messenger from the manager told me sorry it wouldn't happen til tomorrow afternoon!!!!! After every employee had lied to me I guess keeping me there for hoursssssss. So I kindly ask him to put my cart (an easy $500 sale) to the side or in customer service and I'd just come back tomorrow ....he said no way ma'am....it will all be put back and you will just have to reshop. I left the store after all that patience and loving care I poured in filling my cart for the neighborhood kids, feeling defeated, sadden, and just overall how very little they value their customers. They buy things seasonally so their available stock rotates, but that's fine for me because it just means more trips out there! Check out Facebook for their current offerings. They have really fantastic prices on their fruit trees, and the workers there are always helpful in deciding what to buy for your particular situation. We were able to stop by for a visit when they opened up for a day for the Ag + Art Tour of Aiken County (organized by Clemson Extension, a great statewide series of events). Despite the rainy conditions we were able to browse through their plant selection and they had a few available for purchase that day. Since most of their plants aren't labeled for sale and don't have prices it's hard to know if they're a good deal but we did end up leaving with a special citrus that's supposed to be able to overwinter here and it was $32 for a fairly small plant. However it's a hard to find plant so we thought it was worth it. Many of their other rare plants I've seen at other nurseries or online stores for a better price. The current owner is fairly new and took over Woodlanders from the original owner so I'm not sure how different the business is now since we didn't live here or know about it prior to the switch. The current owner/operator Fiona did say they are planning to open up for in person shopping ~2 Saturdays a month starting this fall, so follow them on social media for updates. Fiona was super nice and seemed very knowledgeable, and I'll definitely keep an eye on their inventory for any gold nugget finds but in general will still probably do most of my plant shopping elsewhere due to cost. The "reviews" seem to have been written by "Karens", and the price was good, so I took a chance and ordered them last week. My concerns were unfounded. The lady with whom I spoke was very pleasant and helpful, even though I'm a rather gruff old man. The trees arrived in excellent condition and are very, very nice specimens in every way. I highly recommend Woodlanders without reservation.
