I contacted Weed Man to help control an out-of-control nutsedge problem in my back yard. Apparently, the amount of rain that we received must have added life to an underlying problem of nutsedge that I had not experienced before. I signed up for an eight-round treatment plan along with a treatment of organic compost and a spring aeration. My guy, Steven, definitely deserves 5-stars and a nice hefty raise. He the technician for the 7 treatment sessions and he was fantastic. I learned a lot from him that I should have learned during my initial call. The technicians for aeration and overseeding were friendly and really did a good job. I recently had a fall aeration and overseed done which was the only thing that I am happy with, even though there was a large spot that needed more seed. A quick call to Weed Man resulted in some techs coming back out with another overseed at no cost. I'm on the books for a round of treatments for 2024, but I'm still not sure that I would sign up with them again even though the price is right, and I am giving them 5-stars because the customer service is good. read more

There was a point at one time when their service was excellent. The last few months have been horrible. They say they knock on your door and they don't. I have had to call them back several times because they said they knocked, but they didn't and I'm home. It happened again today when I called the technician back, they offered to come out and everything, but I wasn't satisfied, so I called the company to speak to them about why they don't knock after me specifically putting notes in to knock. The guy argued with me and said that they did knock when he wasn't even here. I had been standing in the kitchen for over an hour because I'm cooking a large meal and they said they were here 15 minutes prior to me making this message which is a bold face lie. I canceled my service and want nothing more to do with this company. I do not know what has changed, but it sucks. read more

On several occasions, they have not shown up as scheduled and don't immediately place you for the next day, they "will get back to you when they reschedule ". When asked for 2 to 3 days notice for aeration services since they want the customer to mark the sprinklers, they say that they'll do that but never have. It's not reasonable to assume that people have nothing else in their lives so that they're available to do prep work within hours of receiving notice that they're arriving (if they actually do). I would avoid this company at all costs. read more

Terrible customer service The background of this episode is that we have a fenced backyard that our dogs access from the house through a dog door. This requires us to be present when the backyard is serviced so that we can lock the dogs in the house before providing access to the backyard by unlocking the gate in the fence. Their reply Wednesday evening: Hello, it should be in the afternoon As it turned out, I had a scheduled medical appointment at 1230 on Thursday but I anticipated their arrival late Thursday afternoon, My wife texted me at 12:50 on Thursday: Weedman just showed up. She replied further: I told them I was pissed. They were only here a few minutes. I don't think they put emergent on the back but I had to go to bathroom. Twisted my knee walking back to move car away from the gate. Finally they sent this message on Thursday afternoon: Hi, Micheal! Thank you for choosing WeedMan. Could you take 30 seconds to leave us a review using the following link? https://r.podium.com/.......,,.. I am posting this review now! While my lawn does look nice partly due to my mowing, edging and irrigation as well as partly due to fertilizers and herbicides from Weedman, their customer service falls way short of acceptable! I truly wish I could give them a zero. This company is terrible. They started by killing our grass, they have never made it right, they show up unannounced after saying they would reschedule if the day did not work, and we still have a ton of weeds. Their communication is terrible, you never get the same person showing up, they'll leave their ridiculous signs in your yard even if you ask them not to (multiple times), and no one knows what the hell is going on...ever. Amateur hour...DO NOT USE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE. read more

I moved to Fresno in July 2024. We didn't have lawn at our previous home, and knew nothing about lawn care. In Fresno we have lots of lawn and most of our neighbors have Weed Man. So I signed up and we had Weed Man services from 2024 - 2025. I stopped service because my lawn wasn't looking any better. Now I have grubs and my lawn is being destroyed so I signed up with Weed Man again. Today, I received a text that my lawn will receive fertilizer and weed control tomorrow; no mention of the grub problem I called about. Before the service visit, I would have liked an appointment with a lawn expert to discuss the condition of my lawn and the grub problem. In my dreams, the lawn expert would ask me about my goals for my lawn and how I use the garden. Then we could determine the best plan for treatment and service. Instead, this is a programmed service, with no interest in improving the existing lawn. If the programmed service is successful great, if not who cares. But WM will be there as scheduled, doing whatever is on the schedule. I'm demanding a supervisor visit - we'll see how that goes. I hope I can change this review to favorable. I'll let you know. Does anyone know of a lawn care expert who provides this kind of service? read more

Former review update: You can see by Weed Man's response to my previous post that they showed care for their customers and wanted to "make things right". I thought maybe my post did some good. If not for me, for someone else. Michael. From the local Weed Man called and wanted to meet to discuss the matter further. I agreed and spoke to Michael on Friday April 10th. Michael asked if we could meet on Monday, he said he would call me in the morning on Monday to set up a time for him to come to my home and meet with me. GUESS WHAT! It's Friday and I still haven't heard from Michael. I missed a day of work and wasted a day sitting at home waiting for a call. I received another billing for a charge that was in dispute with my credit card company, so I called Michael. His reason for not calling me back was "I forgot". Michael did call me back that day and made me an offer. He told me he would erase my debt (which had already been paid and subsequently but in dispute) and put my number on a no contact list with in company if I would remove my negative review from the Internet. No way! This company tries to put up a good front and say the right things in response to my complaints but do not follow that positive talk with positive action. read more

Don't waste your money, I was so happy with services before John retired. I got several of my neighbors to also do their yards, my lawn looked exceptional. Attention to detail. This new company sends inexperienced employees to do applications. Missing spots, weeds would pop up, I didn't trust them. It soon came to the point where I had to be home for them to service my yard and yet they sent different employees and missed areas. Several supervisors came and spoke to me and still there was no change. Weeds would still emerge. I gave them one more chance to make it right and yet they dropped the ball. After canceling service they still showed up and serviced my yard. The employee was in shock why they sent him when I showed him my text to cancel service. They didn't charge me but each and every employee that showed up to do my yard stated that, there is no reason why my lawn looked terrible and yet they continued to deduct the service fee off my credit card. I been telling my neighbors to cancel their service. This new company focuses on quantity not quality. The revolving door of employees says it all. If I could put no stars I would read more

Their business development practices consists of lack of respect for the potential customer. After leaving Weed Man years ago because of an upsell situation decided to give them another shot. Turns out we couldn't even make it to the first application. Told the salesman the technician can't come out on Thursdays, so first appointment scheduled for Thursday. Told the salesperson need a nut sedge/grass treatment found out it's still an upsell when I called about incorrect appointment, and that it wasn't in my current plan. Wow! If you ever wanted the MOST detailed, professional, go-out-of-their-way workers doing projects for you, you are going to really appreciate all that you get for your dollar! No less that 3 people worked on my lawns (and a rental property) today. Brent, the supervision consulted with and oversaw each and every step with his guys, Tyler and Paul. Today, we had the lawns areated. Here's what the service entailed: 1) Consultation and quote, various recommendations and service levels of which you can peel off. 2) Accurate work times and show up. Excellent communications. 3) The crew walked each inch of the property with me, running the sprinklers and flagging each one. Questions were answered and any concerns addressed. 4) A specialized gypsum product is applied and then the aeration machine is run through each area. 5) The sprinklers are run again to check for problems and everything is cleaned up. Brent made my day by replacing a simple broken sprinkler that wasn't even damaged by them and was existing!!! I didn't even ask them to do this and was bummed when I discovered it this morning Prior to the work starting. Ugh, more work... lol Thank you Brent!!!! These guys were so easy to work with and went out of their way to make me feel comfortable. I was so impressed that I'm going to have them do my re-seeding and mulch of my entire lawn in Sept. Thank you Brent, Tylor and Paul for your exceptional work today. What a blessing it is to get these things done properly! You went out of your way and made the best possible impression on me, were flexible and I'll make sure to recommend you to my many clients! Keep up the good work, Weed Man!! Lawns need help?? I should have checked reviews before calling them again, it appears they are worse than ever and very expensive. I had used their service well over 10 years ago, I don't recall a specific reason for stopping the service other than lack of quality service in ridding lawn of weeds. I am happy to pay more money for good service as long as there are positive results, and honesty if a problem cant be addressed. I called today only after trying to setup an online estimate that requires me to allow them to text and email me. (No Thanks) When i spoke to their representative to have a professional come look at my yard to see if it can be helped from the crab grass infestation that pre emergent did not seem to help he said he needed to go over their service plans. After explaining the $680.00 per season for 7 treatments he asked when i wanted to get started.. I explained i was looking for the complete estimate after they looked at the yard in person just incase there were additional charges.. The rep said i needed to sign up for one of the services, and said i would save $100.00 by paying for the season in advance today and i did not have to pay for any additional items until later. I am not sure what business model they use now, but it sure does not appear to be based on good customer service. especially since i told they guy i had been told that my yard needs to be completely replaced. I was hoping to hear from a professional, but not the case with weed man. read more

Called for an estimate - very aggressive sales - advised I would consider - and would sign up online IF I desired service. 2 weeks now - call and/or text at least once and often twice - despit blocking numbers - they just use a different one. Simply based on their aggresive sales - have had better servive with a used car salesman - would NEVER sign up. They also want payment upfront - Before service. Many other - local/smaller options. Weed Man - I need my Lawn to look life this - Pest Control Near Me - Fresno, California

This company was better under previous ownership. Used their service for years, but it's declined in the last year. Had service regularly but lawn was looking yellow because they hadn't been to our house for three months. We called and found out the new management changed contract from 8 times per year to 7 times per year, without notifying us. The loss of one service per year was at the time of year our grass needed to be fertilized. They told us they would get someone to our house within a couple days, but no one came. Same thing happened when we called again, they would get someone out within a couple days but no one came. When we called a third time to cancel due to them not showing up, they again said they would be there within a few days, but couldn't set a specific day. That wasn't acceptable to us after we had already been told same thing on the two previous calls, so we canceled service. read more

We have used this service for about a month now and it has been good. Our service guy gave our little one a goodie bag that he was pretty excited about at one of our visits, and they identified all the weeds we have spread out in our grass, came up with a game plan and have been coming weekly. It's working so far! Our grass is coming in greener, the weeds are slowly dying out and he gave us tips on our sprinklers and what to change up and so far so good. Especially during these summer months when it's hot as heck here and the sun is beating down on our lawn, it's coming out good so far. read more

I've had Weedman service my yard for over 10 years and was always very pleased with them, even recommending them to anyone who would listen. That all seemed to change about 4 years ago. I started noticing more weeds in my grass and I would call to see what's going on. They would send someone out, and he would recommend a new treatment for my yard. That would help for a little bit but would not last. Now they just seem to do as little as possible until you complain. The service just keeps getting worse and worse and now they just call with high pressure sales constantly trying to add other services to our account (mosquito treatment and flower bed treatment). Why would I sign up for that when they no longer care to do a decent job for the service I already pay for? read more

i would never recommend this place. Nor working for them, they treat their employees horribly. they are rude beyond measure. quota was 15 new customers a day but the employee only did 12 because either people weren't home due to their job schedule and allow him to do his job. they are very greedy. they hire new employees just to pick up new accounts and then they fire them. if i could give them 0 stars i would. it is a zero star for me. read more

Hired in early Spring for dandelions and clover control. After 4 months of service and an aeration I did not request (while I was gone), my lawn now has several new invasive weed varieties that they admit their chemicals can't kill but their proposed solution is to spray more chemicals that don't work. OK!? I suspect they spread more weeds with contaminated equipment. Won't refund your money. Management gives bogus excuses like "birds pooping weed seeds onto your lawn," so they obviously think their customers are stupid. Save your money, don't hire these people. Total SCAM read more

was quoted $37.00 for my very small backyard. I authorized treatment. Later the serviceman called and upped the price on me to $57.00. I called the office and was told it was their policy. That's all she kept saying everything I asked or said to her, it's our policy. Requested a call from owner. He called today and repeated it's our policy. His excuse was we have to open the gate and take around equipment. I pointed out that time wise he could get to another paying job sooner, but that was ignored. I told him I will find another weed service and to expect a bad yelp review! read more

Just a warning for others. I started with Weedman at the beginning of this year, and my last treatment should be next month. After paying over 400 dollars and about 7 visits, my yard looks no better. After the second tech visit, I told them my yard looked worse than ever. They were fertilizing the weeds, and they grew out of control. A supervisor came out to look at my yard and told me there was nothing they could do for my type of grass (daligrass). The dallisgrass was the entire reason I hired them. There was never any mention that nothing could be done until that day. I was advised to have my gardener dig the grass out or use some roundup. Why did I hire Weedman? Can't they spray something like Roundup on my grass? It was pointless. They said they would spread some pre-emergent on the dallisgrass, hoping it won't grow back. I continued to use the service, hoping it would improve, but I've already set to cancel it after the last application because my grass is in the same shape as when they started. Save your money. read more

I contacted Weedman services for a quote on getting some patchwork done to my yard and was given a great deal over the phone and signed up for the plan only to have a technician come out and tell me they quoted me wrong and it would be doubled the original price and instead of honoring the original deal they decided to cancel my service all together. read more

Deserving of 0 stars, but not an option. I advise you look for weed services elsewhere. The Weedman did not uphold their service agreement. We signed-up for service on March 8 for 7 treatments/year of pre-emergent and broad-leaf control for all flowerbeds on our property. We received our first service on March 24. When the technician came on April 20 for our second service, I met him outside and expressed concern for the lack of weed control we had after the first service. He introduced himself as a senior technician and agreed that it appeared we did not get the expected results and ensured us that he would take care of all the weeds during the service. Some of the leaves had turned brown after the first service while the stems and most of the leaves stayed green and the weeds continued to grow. After the second service, within a few days the weeds began to die. From the time we started service, I was still pulling weeds weekly. On June 23, we had our 3rd scheduled service. Following the service, I watched recordings from our surveillance videos to find that the technician made about 6 single sprays of weed control around our property. I immediately called the Weedman to verify what exactly we had signed up for. In agreement that there was concern for the service rendered they sent a supervisor out the following day who confirmed that pre-emergent had not been applied and that he would schedule to have a technician return to complete the service. On July 17, a technician returned and to no surprise, sprayed only a few weeds in the front yard and nothing in the backyard and no pre-emergent was applied. They scheduled a technician to return on July 21 for a "re-application." (I quote re-application because how is it a re-application when it was never applied?). The pre-emergent was not applied but to one small area in a flower bed in the front yard and in the back yard. Please note, we have several flower beds in the front of the house, on the sides of the house and in the back yard. I called to request a refund for the service that I paid for because the service was not completed and I was told they do not offer refunds for services completed- I explained that this month I have had technicians to my property three separate occasions and the service was never completed. I then asked to cancel my service and was given a run-around of how they would send another technician within 24-48 hours, so, on 7/24, they sent a "senior technician" out to inspect, and then we were told they are limited to the amount of weed application they can provide and only provide pre-emergent once in a year, despite that I understood I was paying for it every month (as it is written on both the agreement and stated on services completed invoice that "application of pre-emergent / broadleaf control") and despite that only two out of 12 of the flower beds had pre-emergent applied. read more

I recently cancelled my service after about a year and half and they asked why and I had multiple reasons waiting for them. 1) After about 12 times to my house I had probably 8-9 different people. They told me they were being asked to do 30-40 homes in a day which is too many for them so they quit. 2) They went up to 77.00 per application and are constantly upselling on other things. 3) I was called 5 times to get me to add mosquito service even though I declined every time. 4) Once the person left my gate open and left. Luckily my dog didn't get out. 5) My grass doesn't look any better and maybe worse now. 6) The final straw was my last application the Weedman was there a total of 6 minutes fertilizing my lawn from start to driving off in his truck. I watched on my Ring. So if you don't mind paying 77.00 for poor service then Weedman is your company. Not mine! read more

They didn't show up and didn't contact me. They said the services were rescheduled for a random date two weeks from now and thought that was good customer service. I contacted the weed man 3 or so years ago, the technician that came out initially did a good job, he really reduced the nut grass in my yard and in the flower beds. He knew that I worked and would have to be out the door by 8:00 or 8: 15 and being that I have dogs I have to have them in during service. He always made it by 7:00 or 7:30 in the morning, which worked out great. Unfortunately this has not been the case now, The technician does not show up on time, and being that I have to be out the door to certain time that doesn't work for me. The first time he sprayed this year was the third week in May and somehow burned most of my back lawn. I am still trying to fix that. It's unfortunate because this worked out well for me a few years ago but unfortunately I have to go elsewhere now. read more

After 8 months and almost $1,000 later. My yard looks as bad if not worse than when started with weedman. Terrible service. I started service with them and my lawn started to turn brown. After a couple of visits I called my service tech and he told me to water more. My lawn continued to brown and spot. I then called the office and was told a supervisor would call me back which never happened. I had to call out a commercial landscaper to take a look since they never followed through with their promise. As soon as he walked in my yard he said I had a fungus and the fertilizer they were putting on was making it worse. These techs have no clue on spotting problems and their answer to me made my issue worse. I had to pay this landscaper a few hundred dollars to undue the damage they had done. Now with no weed man my yard looks better than ever. If you ever have an issue with your grass they will not know what to do and then will not follow through with addressing your problem.
