I may be an outlier here but didn't have a good experience going to this place. What I recommend to…read moreanyone going there is to make sure they write their estimate for a job down, hand it to you, and you keep it until you come back for pick-up. I've been there twice and each time the total is much higher than the estimate they gave me. After this last time I've decided I won't be going here again. Over a month ago I went in to ask how much it would cost to have a broken zipper replaced on my winter coat. I was told it was $60, which was too much for my budget, so I said I would think about it. A few days later a family member volunteered to pay for this clothing repair as a Christmas gift, so I thanked them and dropped the coat off. I was told I would be contacted when the job was completed. Three and half weeks later I hadn't heard from them, and had been dealing with single digit temperatures in a thinner coat I was using at the time. I paid them a call and asked if there was any updates on my coat. "Well, did you get a text that we had finished it?" she asked. I said no. "Then no, we're not done." I was little taken aback because she seemed irritated I had called, but figured she might be having a bad day. I listened as she looked around and eventually found my coat, then told me it would probably be done in a week or so. That brought my waiting time to nearly a month. That next week I received a text and went in to pick up my coat. The total the employee gave me was $80, $20 more than the estimate I had been given. "Wait, why is it so high?" I asked. She scoffed said, "Uh, because it's actually really hard work." In that moment I thought, "Oh, you're who I talked to on the phone" and realized that she probably wasn't having a bad day, that's just how she talks to people. I laughed it off and explained that it wasn't a complaint about the cost, but the fact that it was $20 more than we discussed. "Oh, that's tax," she said, which didn't make sense, then called her mother over to speak with me, the owner of the place. I explained the problem to her and she said that they charged by the inch and remeasured the zipper. Now she was saying it was $68 for the repair, plus an additional fee then the tax on the purchase. In that moment, I had two choices: which was to remind her once again of the estimate, ask her why it had changed, and why she hadn't mentioned additional fees when I had come in twice and talked about how I was on a budget. Or I could just say, "You know what? Just keep the coat," and walk away. Then I thought, "What is the difference? They obviously don't remember me and they don't care. They also made me wait nearly a month and have treated me like an idiot." After all, most of cost would be covered by someone who had volunteered to help me out and keep me warm for the winter. I quickly decided to get as far away as these people as soon as I could. I just said, "Uh-huh, uh-huh" while they repeated how much it cost, paid them and left. When I finally put on the repaired coat and tried out the zipper it jammed and I couldn't get it off for several minutes. So even the quality of the job wasn't that great. I had to laugh. If you decide to use this place for repairs or alterations, be careful. And make sure that whatever is discussed is put in writing.

They did a fabulous job hemming a skirt for me. It is very light, material with a slit on the legs…read more She also added to the slits to make it easier to walk. Fabulous work. I am taking her some more projects. Jill
