As beginners initially looking to just learn a few dance moves for our wedding we had no idea where to start, and Kim was so helpful guiding us towards an absolutely beautiful first number. I know when we first walked in I had plenty of ambitious dreams of what that dance may be and Kim didn't back down from the challenge and really helped push us even beyond our expectations! We ended up with quite an unforgettable and meaningful number by the end, especially with our quick timetable and wll never forget the joy of dancing together for the first time for our family - and the great photos our photographer was able to snag! We loved Kim! Great communicator, she knew all the little details we would never have thought of on our own. She kept my dress and our personal preferences in mind while creating a dance. She was able to choreograph a gorgeous wedding dance that made us look much better than our actual skill level (complete beginners) and we had so much fun during our classes! We did dips, lifts and spins that looked completely impressive. We thought picking a choreographer was an optional step in wedding planning but honestly having our first dance choreographed was so much better and made us feel much better than just swaying around. Kim was absolutely amazing to work with for my husband and I's first dance! We are not dancers but she is an incredible teacher and holds true to her promise that she "will not let you look bad out there!" We went in thinking we'd like to do something a little more choreographed to make our first dance special and she gave us that and so much more - we had dips, spins, kisses, and even a lift (which I would not have thought was possible going into this experience) and it truly blew our guests away. Our videographer loved it so much she had a cut of our "epic" wedding dance back to us in 48 hours. I would HIGHLY recommend working with Kim on any of your wedding dance needs - we had so much fun at our lessons with her and she will meet you where you're at and help you not only dance well but build a dance you and your partner love. She's very open to changing or adjusting things if you decide a certain move isn't for you or you bring her something you'd like to try! We loved the collaboration. And I also have to mention how much she helped me build something SUPER simple yet polished for my dad and I's dance - at our last lesson we mapped out a few easy moves I could lead him in because my dad was all over the place haha but her help on that dance too was awesome and we also looked great. One of our favorite wedding vendors and experiences leading up to the wedding, dance lessons with Kim were a fun and stress relieving part of the journey. I can't recommend getting a choreographer for your first dance enough. You get to do dance classes with your soon to be spouse before you get married. It's such a fun experience and brings you closer. Plus you have this amazing dance to show your family and friends on your wedding day instead of just swaying back and forth. We LOVED working with Kim. She's a professional dancer and is passionate, not just about teaching, but about you looking amazing during your first dance. She really pays attention to the details and instructs your movements so you look your best. We did 3 sessions with her and felt 100% confident by the final one. You don't need to be a dancer by any means, she will direct you fully. My husband had no previous experience with dancing. We liked working with her so much that we added on a choreographed dance for the Mother/Son & Father/Daughter dance. We decided to combine them and do a choreographed dance together. Kim is amazing. Neither of us are dancers and we didn't decide to take lessons until three weeks before the wedding (if you're debating it, do not wait until the last minute like we did), but Kim was so great at teaching us everything that was going to make the dance as beautiful and fun as possible. In just a few short lessons, she helped these two very awkward people look pretty decent on the dance floor. Kim helped us feel comfortable and ready for whatever came up, always sharing stories of things that other couples have experienced in order to better prepare us for our day. She brings many years of experience, and is thoughtful and conscious of one's skill level when choreographing a dance. While we went with a non-traditional song (Dance the Night Away by Van Halen), she was very supportive and creative with the moves, making it feel authentic to our personalities.
