Last April, I lucky enough to work with…read more2hands Studios for event rentals for my wedding. 2hands came as a recommendation from our florist, but they up being a complete godsend and really added the special finishing touches to my wedding day vision. The 2hands studio is a real life wedding Pinterest board. :-) We ended up using them for all table decor items, including mercury vases, antique mirrors, antique gold frames for our table numbers, candle votives and floating candle holders. We also rented a card lantern, a few sets of shutters (for our name cards), and multiple chalkboard signs. I also paid for the set up fee, which was well worth the cost as everything was executed flawlessly. They even helped me find a place for and set-up a family heirloom veil. Most importantly, working with Jill and Ally was super fun and super easy. They were collaborative and consultative. If I had found them earlier in the planning process, I am sure I would have found even more reasons to use them on other items b/c they seem to do everything. I would definitely recommend 2hands Studios to anyone planning a wedding and look forward to finding a reason to work with them again sometime in the future!

As the wedding got closer, we worked with another member of her team who was going to be the day of coordinator. Her and Alex worked together well, but we could really see the difference. Many of the final details took a long time to get right and we should have raised the red flag there. When the wedding came, the seating cards were incorrect and not what was agreed to. They also failed to double check we had all the tables set out for the reception, we were one short which caused a decent size disruption. The name cards Alex's team printed also spelled the grooms name wrong, the team didn't leave out the guest book and even more. You count on companies like these to really nail the details and it did not work out for us. We suggest couples take caution if they work with other members of Alex's team.

We then had Liz and Margaret at the reception (at a different location) to help. They were TERRIFIC. They helped take the décor from the ceremony and placed it throughout the reception. They made sure everything was used and kept us organized! They stay a little bit passed the end to help us clean and collect the decor and even packed up the car for us! We'd had an absolutely horrendous 10-month ordeal with our original wedding planner (see review for Jeannelle Muhammad Designs/LifeTime Events, Inc.), which culminated in termination with that company with just 6 weeks until our wedding. Luckily for us, Shelby happened to have our wedding date unbooked. My husband and I live in California and were super busy during this time, as are most couples planning a wedding. We also had the additional stress of having experienced exceptionally poor service from the previous wedding planner. What Shelby and her assistant were able to accomplish with just 6 weeks, our original planner was unable to achieve in the 10 months we were under contract with her. We secured the services of Exquisite Expressions & Events, Inc. on August 11, and we were married September 20. Not very much time--but she was able to pull off the most classy, elegant, and tasteful wedding for us! We still receive compliments about our wedding and by far, the most common adjective used to describe it is "classy." If there were any problems on that day, we were not aware. She thought of every detail, handled everything tactfully, and was even able to help me with my dress malfunction! Our entire wedding day ran flawlessly and seamlessly like clockwork, and everything began and ended precisely on time. Shelby was able to understand our vision, helped shape it without compromising it (given the time constraints), and exuded and demonstrated an overall sense of competence. She was extremely timely in her responsiveness and truly efficient with our time. The flowers and decor were fantastic--from the table cloths, to the chivari chairs, to the napkins, to the uplighting-- everything was quality. Shelby used quality vendors from her arsenal, who were exceptional in their own right. She has real connections and is very well-known throughout the D.C. metropolitan area. The prices that she got us for flowers, linens, and decor were absolutely amazing, a true testament to who she knows in the industry and how much they value her business. She has been in the event planning business for many years and has formed genuine relationships with TOP vendors in the area. I don't know exactly how she was able to get some of the deals she got us, but she did, and all with an extremely short window of time to pull it off. And coordinate she DID! From finding childcare for our kid's room to finding the best possible rate for a DC Pedicab send off, she took everything that I found overwhelming off my plate. I would simply meet with her, tell her what I want, my budget and she made it happen. She is a true fairy godmother. The day of the wedding went off without a hitch! Her team was complete professionals with ear pieces and all. I knew I was in good hands and from the moment she came into my life, there were no more tears shed. The Best Decision We Made for Our Daughter's Wedding…read more Mary was absolutely incredible as our daughter's day-of coordinator. She took all of our planning and executed everything flawlessly, allowing us to truly relax and enjoy the wedding day. She was organized, calm, energetic, intuitive, and somehow always exactly where she needed to be without ever being intrusive. One thing that especially meant so much to me was that she even drove back to our home after the church ceremony to pick up all of the floral arrangements I had made for the reception. That extra effort is what made it possible for me to do all of the flowers myself, and I will always appreciate it. There are many coordinators who want to provide full planning services, but true "day-of" coordinators who can step in, execute your vision flawlessly, and allow you to simply enjoy the wedding are much harder to find. Things were done that shouldn't have been. My main complaint out of everything was the loss of mt deceased parents custom made LED memory candles. When I asked where they were. I met with defensiveness, and attitude. I simply asked her where were my parents candles. I asked would she replace them and she wouldn't because "she doesn't have any empathy because I questioned her integrity". I asked you to replace what you and your staff lost! This response and the fact that she did not replace my parents candles says allot about you and your company. Unempathic, irresponsible and unprofessional. Doesn't take responsibility or accountability, but yet make excuses.
