We opened our WECU account in Blaine after becoming disenchanted with our big-box bank the long lines, needing appointments for everything... we just wanted a local place for the basics. But after a few months of banking here, we've been pleasantly surprised by how much they actually offer. We've been able to walk in and get Canadian currency, have documents notarized (no appointment needed!), and the biggest shock of all: they actually have someone who can do a Medallion Signature Guarantee. Our big-box bank didn't even offer this! We didn't end up needing it, but still wow. This little WECU really does it all! Highly recommend. read more

I moved here from 3 hours south where I had a great credit union that I trusted. I looked for something similar here but WECU isn't it. They stole from me the same way big banks have done in the past. I bought a used recreation vehicle loan through them and was told to "get insurance as soon as possible" for it. My licensing and tabs were purchased through the loan and took 2 months to receive and when I finally had them I got insurance. Now WECU claims they have insured me for those 2 months when I couldn't do anything with the vehicle and it wasn't even legally in my name and I now owe them $400. For 2 months of insurance...that's more than I pay in a year and a half to insure myself. I was told that it's ok cause they just add that amount to my loan. So now I get to pay interest on 400 ridiculous dollars of insurance plus interest. Wonder where they purchase insurance from, non profit banking huh? Thanks WECU, I'll be keeping the rest of my hard earned cash in the safe for my family and I who deserve it. I give you 1 star for the Free of charge ATM you furnish so that I can pull money from my trusted bank....and the fact I'm unable to give you none at all. read more
