It took roughly 1 1/2 hours to complete everything before I was out the door. Unfortunately that car experienced some mechanical issues within their ten day guarantee so swapped it out for another vehicle on the seventh day. Again Josh was very helpful and doubled checked everything to make sure I enjoyed my new car.

I've had good experiences here overall across two purchases and one sale. Last summer, I bought a…read moreconvertible that was hard to find here in the DC area, so I had it shipped through the Carmax network from a few states away. I knew going in that I would pay more at Carmax than at some other dealerships, but in the end, the extra cost (the shipping fee plus Carmax just being pricier in general) was worth it. My salesman, Marcus, was super nice and chill. I didn't feel rushed or pressured at all. The sales staff let me take a longer test drive than the normally allowed 20 min, and I appreciated their flexibility. After all, if I'm going to drop thousands of dollars on a vehicle, I need sufficient time to test drive it, visually inspect it, etc. I also appreciate the fact that Marcus and the crew did NOT drill license plate holes in my front bumper (the state my car shipped from does not require a front tag). He knew the car was looking sharp, and he guessed correctly that I would want to avoid drilling holes if possible (I found a magnet solution). He handed me my front tag as well as an order for Carmax tag installation if I changed my mind. That is good customer service. Now to the reason why I don't regret having paid a bit more at Carmax. My car ended up having two issues: an engine emissions issue (check engine alert) that required Carmax to update a couple of parts, and a paint bubble on the rear quarter panel. I'm thankful that I noticed both issues within the 90-day warranty period. For the paint issue, I brought the car back in, a service manager looked at it, and he said right away they'd cover the repair (either through a repair shop of their choosing or of my choosing). Again, I appreciated the flexibility. I was a little surprised they didn't write up paperwork promising to cover the repair, but sure enough, at the designated time, my chosen repair shop called the service manager, and the service manager made the payment. How about that? A handshake deal that came through. But seriously, Carmax, the paperwork route is the better one. Some pro tips: Make an appointment online. Unless it's a slow day like a Monday, do not just stroll in and expect quick service. I made two appointments (for two separate test drives), and a salesman greeted me within minutes of my arrival each time. Another tip: take longer than 20 minutes for your test drive if needed. They are flexible (and they do not ride with you during the test drive). I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 because it's a bit disappointing to have to bring a new (to me) car in twice for repairs, but they did live up to their warranty. I'm also just a tad bitter that they offered me a low price for a trade-in/sale a few years ago, but, hey, I didn't have to take their offer. All in all, I would not hesitate to shop here again. You might pay a bit more, but at least you get a 90-day warranty. Some other local dealerships offer nothing after you drive off the lot. My only other piece of advice (not Carmax-related) is to shop Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) if possible. The particular car I wanted was too old for that kind of certification, so I went the Carmax route. Cheers.

I stumbled upon Dennis and his business online and the whole experience was fantastic. We gave him a call and he gave us a very fair and competitive price quote. Everything sounded like so great so I confirmed and he said that he'd be there in 25 minutes. I expected him to be late but he was there before 25 minutes as promised. Promises are hard to keep when you're busy but Dennis seems like a business owner that holds true to his word. Talking to him on the car ride to my mechanic, it seems that Dennis prides himself in customer service and always has a positive outlook. I work in the customer service industry myself and I was highly impressed. As a result, I personally recommend him for any roadside assistance needed. The dispatch was so nice and friendly and told me to turn my flashers on and that he is sending a driver right the way. The tow truck driver Danny arrived really fast and it took him literally 2 min to load my Volvo on his truck. On our way to the dealership Danny offered me bottle of water and made me feel really comfortable. I want to thank the driver and the dispatch for being so helpful in such a difficult situation.

Thank you, Raphael for your top notch service and test drive. I looked at both of the top rated cars and Raphael showed me a Rav 4 hybrid. They recommended a brake job (the necessity was "innocently" stated as "based on the mileage") and tires (a special deal 4 for 3), totaling over $1,700. I declined. Days later, Goodyear replaced all four tires for ~$200 less -- and told me my brakes were fine. They still were when I traded that car in 6 months ago. Fast forward to Monday, 5/11/2026: my new Prius got a flat tire. For the new car, I wanted to play it safe, so I went to the closest dealership, DARCARS 355 Toyota. They quoted $285 for a tire replacement -- nearly double the $140-180 market rate. Being stuck, I agreed. I was told it would take "15-20 minutes." Then came the delays: * 5/11 ( a couple of hours after the car is at the dealership): Tire will arrive tomorrow. * 5/12: Tire isn't here -- but guaranteed by 5/13. * 5/13: Still no tire, but promise tomorrow at 4pm. When I talked to the manager, the response was remarkable: "Sorry, but that's not our fault -- that's Toyota's problem." A Toyota dealer is blaming Toyota for failing to deliver a Toyota tire to a Toyota dealership (!!!). When I pointed out they'd made the same guarantee three times, the answer was still: "My apologies, but that is not our problem, that is Toyota's problem." The dealership's current 2.4-star rating suddenly makes perfect sense. I am preparing myself to hear tomorrow about "tomorrow" again and "sorry that it's not our problem but Toyota's". My next call is to Toyota corporate.
