This is one of those places that's so great, you're scared to tell people about them. What if they become so popular that I can't get an appointment? Olney Car Care are hands down the most (only?) honest mechanics I've ever been to. We took my husband's Lexus to the dealer for repairs and they quoted us $7500. Olney got it done for $3000-- and did it well. We've been going to them for three years, and it's been the same story every time. Extremely reliable service at honest prices. The mechanics are also very nice and easy to deal with. I no longer live in Olney, but still drive 30 min just to take my car to these guys because there's no one better. Highly recommend. Our car electric system failed after 1 year doing a very expensive repair at Olney car care. We towed it to the dealership this past month and the dealership showed us that Olney car care used the cheapest aftermarket parts and did not do a correct job installation. The reason for a failed starter after 1 year, when the repair should last more then 6 years on a battery starter. Dealership told us to never go back to shops that are not honest like this shop. This is the type of car care center I've been looking for. I did not make a reservation, but showed up with the recommendation of a friend. When I came had my car up on a lift within 20 minutes of me being there and within 30 minute they were able to tell me what was going on with the horrible sound coming from my back left wheel. I was impressed considering there were two other customers there as well. But it gets better, they even took me into the garage (are you allowed to do that) and let me walk and showed me what was going on and where the noise was coming from, they showed me everything and more for reassurance. It was amazing, I was allowed to see my car on a lift the one I was about to pay 100s of dollars to get fixed and they actually let me go into the garage and show me what was going on, I felt like I was on sacred ground. I was super impressed and then check this out? They said your brakes are bad, your pads are gone it's metal on metal but check your struts they are great (it might not have been struts), but might point is, they said (hey this part of your car is good), they weren't scamming me, they weren't trying to upsale me and telling me, "oooo, boy you have about $2,000 worth of repairs needed on this car." It was amazing. I was sold already. Then wait, it gets better, they called the supplier to get the parts and showed me the different options, the premium pads and rotors where a $20 dollars more then the economy ones and I was leaning towards getting the premiums when then they said - "you don't need the more expensive ones, the cheaper economy ones will be just fine", wait what? You didn't try to get me to spend more money, hold on, I'm confused? It was like a dream coming true, I had to pinch myself and when I did it hurt, you know why? Because this is actually what they did, a dream no longer, because Olney Car Care are just trying to help us customers get what we came to get taken care of. It was phenomenal, I was smiling from ear to ear and kept saying thank you. I'm so excited I found this Olney Car Care, they are a top notch venue and my car issues have had no problems since they took care of the problem (2 weeks ago). I could go on and on, saying "I think I might need an oil change too", they could have totally been like "yep you do", but they didn't "they were like you have at least 2,000 more miles on your oil. I mean serious, you get honest, no trying to take advantage of you service at Olney Car Care. They have wifi and a TV in the waiting room, you have the Sandy Spring Museum right next door and Smoketown BBQ is a short walk if you need to grab a bite to eat. I left and they contacted me when it was already, in total it was there for about 4 hours, which I was surprised how fast it took, since I had no reservation and was just a walk up and they had to order the parts. This is my first time going to this car shop. I found them through the great reviews from yelp. I was very skeptical at first because after calling so many shops in the area everything is so expensive just to do a wheel alignment. One of the dealership quoted me $190 to do an alignment. When I called only car care they quoted me $90. At first I thought it was too good to be true but after calling three other shops who quoted me $150, I called only car care back and scheduled an appointment. I appreciated the fact that after dropping off my car they dropped me off to work and offered to pick me up when the car is ready for pick up. The owner himself gave me a ride to work. I had recently purchased a set of 4 tires online for my car and was looking for a local shop to install. I got a few quotes from other shops but they were all charging a higher rate for mounting/balancing the tires if you did not purchase the tires through them, and were trying to add other charges for things that I did not need changed, like air pressure sensors, etc. Then I reached out to Olney Car Care for a quote and got a quick reply. The rate was very fair and there was no up-sell or additional fees added. The next morning I dropped off my car and by lunch I had my car back with the new tires. The price I was quoted (to mount/balance as well as dispose of the old tires) was exactly what I ended up paying in the end. I took my 2002 Mini Cooper to Olney Car Care based on another person's recommendation who told me they are "upfront, honest, know cars, and will provide good service" - and was very glad I did. I particularly enjoyed talking with Vick, whose business model is based on building a good relationship with the customer through honesty, quality, and fair pricing, and I can vouch for this. They repaired my passenger side window with a new motor and regulator, installed new speakers in the front door panels, and changed out the differential fluid. For auto repairs, I had been taking my 2001 Chevy Prizm to Montgomery Village Liberty on Watkins Mill Road in Gaithersburg since about 2003. Now that they have MOVED and are now OLNEY CAR CARE I will definitely drive to Olney for their excellent service. Since 2003 I have gotten OUTSTANDING car repair service from Ray S., Tom S. and every mechanic there. I bring my car there approximately every 12 months and there have been years that they have recommended zero maintenance work. After several years of owning my 2001 car they did recommend brake work and it was very reasonably priced. The brake work and everything they have ever repaired on my car has been 100% satisfactory. Also, I got new tires from them and they have been very high quality tires for a reasonable price. My car is 20 years old and the mechanics have only recommended that I change belts and other parts when actually needed. I know the mechanics there have saved me a lot of money versus what the dealership would have had me spend every year. Also, whenever I call for an appointment, I am generally told I can come in quickly or the next morning. Normally when I bring the car in the wait is generally an hour and a half or less - even for brake work. Some of their mechanics have been there for many years so they are definitely keeping their employees happy. This shop is renovated and under new management, and wow the difference compared to the previous owner! The shop has a clean office with TVs for customers to wait while the vehicle is being repaired. The gentleman at the front desk was great, very welcoming and mannered! Something that really stuck out to me was their devotion to transparency. I was explained about how their decision to put a giant panel of window to see thru to the repair bays was part of showing how willing the management is towards transparency, a true rarity amongst todays dealerships and shops!! I cold called Olney Car Care when I thought my transmission had given out. They were very friendly and told me they were busy, but I was welcome to drop the truck off right away. I expected to have to wait a day or two to hear anything, but they said they would call in two or three hours. Right on the button, they called two hours later with a diagnosis and costs. I approved the work and had my truck, which happily did not need a transmission, back the same day. The shop is clean an modern, and everyone there was very friendly and professional. The prices were on par with what one would expect to pay in Montgomery County with regard to parts and labor, and the truck is running great now. My car started making crying noises and I was afraid to drive it. Olney Car Care was on a list of approved repair shops on the CarMax list. When I got there I told them about the noise. I needed brakes. What I liked was they did not charge me for a diagnostic and they didn't tell me that I needed more then brake pads. I also got my oil changed there. They always do great work and always give their honest opinion about what needs to be fixed at the present time. I hope they retain all their old business and get new business from the new location. I'm giving this review early, before they start work on my car, and I'll tell you why: Vick and Manoj provide unbelievable customer service and go above and beyond. Vick responds on yelp within minutes regarding service questions, quotes and etc. He also came to the shops at 10:30pm at night when I stupidly locked my keys inside the vehicle I was dropping off for repair. I live in Bethesda, about 30 minutes away from the shop. Like most people, I work 8-5ish, which means I could never drop my car off on weekdays during normal business hours. I thus dropped my car off in the parking lot behind the shop, and was going to give my keys to their employee before ubering back to Bethesda. This was around 8:45PM. Of course; I had placed them on the back seat of the car while getting something completely unnecessary at the last minute. Anyways, the AAA guys couldn't come for another hour+ (around 10:10), and their employee left promptly at 10PM. I had messaged Vick through yelp, and instead of being annoyed he simply explained that he didn't have the tools to open my car window, but offered to pick up my backup keys at my house (which was in the complete opposite direction of where he lived) the next morning. I told him I'd rather wait because I had my house keys in the car as well, so he actually drove in to pick up my keys after the AAA guy got my car unlocked. While he couldn't offer me a ride home (which I understood because it would have been like 45 minutes each way for him), he offered to wait with me until my ride arrived. I declined because I'm a dude, the gas station was well-lot, and I had already inconvenienced him so much. All this without mentioning that they had already earned my trust before this incident, having been my third opinion on my vehicle. TLDR, I highly recommend. read more

Went there to do my inspection and man they were really fast with their work, very well organized, they told me it will take about an hour but within 30minutes I was good to go. Very cool staff btw! I was driving on sandy spring rd, my car engine started vibrating, pulled into this facility and thought have some major issue. After they checked the car to my surprise it was not engine related problem and I was done in 45 minutes, they could have charged me 100's dollars, I paid only a fraction, I recommend this facility .
