I also don't know how they do it but their food is never mega greasy which makes it easier to enjoy. Their prices are fair, food is delicious and worth every penny and I'll be damned if I can find anywhere that serves better chip shop curry sauce than McNics! Apparently it's not that unusual for a fish and chip shop to open for lunch, shut in the early afternoon and then reopen for tea time, but for one in such a good location (right at the top of Horsforth's Town Street) you'd expect one continuous period of business. If you can catch this place when it is open, the fish and chips are pretty nice, and they do a mean battered-sausage. They also sell Southern Fried Chicken, but as I have NEVER seen anyone buy it, presumably those who have either won't or can't buy again, I would not recommend it.
