This chippy sits on its own opposite the Grey Horse, but, perhaps because you can park right outside, it does a good trade. However, it obviously doesn't do well enough to remain open for more than a few hours at any one time, as I have found to my frustration on more than one occasion.
Apparently it's not that unusual for a fish and chip shop to open for lunch, shut in the early afternoon and then reopen for tea time, but for one in such a good location (right at the top of Horsforth's Town Street) you'd expect one continuous period of business.
If you can catch this place when it is open, the fish and chips are pretty nice, and they do a mean battered-sausage. It's very reasonably priced as well...it's just a shame you can't enjoy it whenever you want to. read more
