Webster Dental Care (WDC) has been around for long time and it definitely shows. Upon entering the waiting room the aroma strikes ones nose of old dirty carpet needing to be replaced. The walls are covered in wood paneling and the speakers on the wall are blown out playing terrible crackly indistinguishable Americana tunes. The fish tank is rather large, awkwardly placed and contains only a few less than spectacular fish. The staff at Webster Dental Care is wonderful. Absolutely Exceptional!! Everyone brings a positive attitude including the welcoming receptionist, x-ray technician, dental hygienist and even the Dentist. I've never felt more at ease during a dental appointment. I highly recommend Webster Dental Care if you're looking for a new Dentist even through the waiting room is a disorganized dump. read more

I was so glad to have been able to get an appointment even though it was the day before my insurance was to end. Insurance has been spotty for me and it had been a while since getting my teeth cleaned. (I had to have 2 pulled due to lack of coverage and funds already). I just wanted that fresh clean feeling, to feel a little human again! I was given an exam by the hygienist and told that I needed the deep cleaning (under the gums) done and that I could reschedule for that procedure. I explained that it was too expensive and that I would not be able to afford that. The dentist came in and told me that I had some receding gums and needed the deep cleaning. I get it but I can't do it right now. The hygienist returned, took off my 'bib' and proceeded to leave the room. I asked "I thought I was getting my teeth cleaned?" to which she replied, "we don't do the regular cleaning when you need the deep cleaning". I jumped up and had to go after her for her to even acknowledge I was speaking to her. "But I can't get a deep cleaning, I just want a regular cleaning". She opened the door to the waiting room and called the next person in. When I say I felt like less than a human... I thought I was going to feel a little better and instead felt a whole lot worse. I even explained that I had me teeth cleaned there before, even though I needed the deep clean, she wouldn't even acknowledge me. And NO I wasn't acting a fool. I was calm and polite. I started seeing seeing Dr. Krobath when I was in high school, and have returned to his practice a few years ago as an adult. I have Medicaid, and the dentists in network are absolutely terrible and recommend work that doesn't even need to be done; Billing me and my insurance for ridiculous amounts. I decided to get a second opinion from Dr. Krobath to see if I was getting ripped off by my previous dentist and I haven't looked back since! It is 100% worth it to pay OUT OF POCKET for all my major dental work (crowns, root canals, implants) because I know that Dr. Krobath stands by his work and if anything messes up or isn't to his or my liking, HE WILL MAKE IT RIGHT. He also ALWAYS takes the time to thoroughly explain what he sees and what he thinks the best plan of action is. There's been a couple times when he recommended that we just wait to see what would happen with a tooth before he would perform any work unnecessarily. I can't say I've ever had any issues. It's always a pleasure seeing him and everyone the office. Trish is amazing and Diane is a pleasure to see in the morning. Im embarassed and frustrated that it took me years to realize how much my husband and I were getting screwed over by these people. Before we changed dentists, I was told I needed crowns on all my front top teeth and invisaline. (why?! My teeth are straight naturally) My new dentist was shocked when I told him. I was given an estimate for those procedures that left me in tears. They also left a root in from my wisdom tooth they removed, that will be fun when it decides to abscess, thanks guys! Their techs were always really nice though, so that was the only positive. read more

Was not a fan. The front desk is like talking to dry toast. I was told before my appointment everything had to be "paid on full. That's our policy..." Ok so I paid in cash and was told they didn't have change. Fine roll it over to my next appointment, I have more work needing to be done. A month later I get a bill for the amount I over paid. I called and was told that I must of been wrong. Really? Because it's your policy that everything be "paid in full" before the appointment....the other problem I had was after my work was done the hygienist didn't rinse out my mouth. I had to go to the public bathroom to rinse out the blood and spit in the public bathroom sink. Just gross. I have over $5000 of work done. Needless to say my money won't be going to them. read more

I researched area dentists for a while, and finally stumbled upon Webster Dental. They have a lot of commercials and information out there, so I figured it must be decent. I went in for a routine cleaning, and that part was fine. They don't have any music or tv's to distract you from what's going on in your mouth, so I did not like that. I recently moved here and I'm used to a dentist with these things. What I disliked most though, was a procedure they seemed to offer to every person who came in for a routine cleaning (including the person next to me.) They "sample" something from your mouth, put it under a microscope and then tell you you are at risk for a bunch of pretty detrimental diseases later in life. While I do not know if what they're saying has a shred of truth or not, I still did not enjoy experiencing this on a routine cleaning. They then offer you a $900 service to have it taken care of. I wish I had known of this before going in, and I would have chosen to go somewhere else for my routine cleaning. For this reason, I have to give them 2 stars. read more

I feel really bad for the previous reviewers that they had such a bad experience. As for the reviewer that was expecting TVs and music, I don't think that's the responsibility of a dental office, especially with everyone having a smartphone in their pocket these days. I've seen Dr. Krobath for over 5 years now and I love him and his approach. I hate going to the dentist, really. I found Webster Dental Care on a recommendation from a friend and then a customer mentioned it as well. I wasn't disappointed when I made my appoitnment, other than having to go to the dentist. I admittedly have teeth issues, it's hereditary and I've been dealing with them since I was a teenager. When I've had severe toothaches or a cracked tooth, I've never had to wait more than 36 hours to be seen by Dr. Krobath. They have extended hours and Saturday hours to accomodate more patients and emergencies. My latest issue left me in a tough situation because of making a decision based on finances. Dr. Krobath completely respected that and broke down dollar wise exactly what my options were. Many doctors get offended when you have to make a treatment decison based on finances and I've never felt that way here. The office staff is also helpful and personable and goes out of their way to make you feel comfortable. I will continue to use them as my dentist for both me and my husband. read more

I had repeated cracks to my front tooth after pregnancy and was talked into getting veneers with the promise of permanent and sturdy replacements to my formerly beautiful teeth. One dental assistant promised that their veneer vendor was an "artist" but I saw no proof of that. It took THREE ROUNDS to get something even passable. The first two were comically overlarge and bulged out changing not only my smile but my profile. No consideration was given to my original tooth shape, size or color. No pictures were taken or sent. No financial consideration was given for the extreme inconvenience and embarassment of wearing the dingy, yellow, rough temporaries while waiting for each new set of veneers was created. By the time the third versions came in, I decided to just take them rather than continue going through the pain and embarassment of having temporaries put on and taken off. I was so disgusted I just wanted to get as far away from this practice as possible. I thought long and hard about writing this review because I dislike speaking negatively about someone's business. I did, however, write the practice with my dissatisfaction and wasn't even give the courtesy of a reply. Poor work, worse manners. Stay away from this practice. read more

A dentistry sweatshop - - 2010-06-15 This dentist is horrible. You have to wait for hours to then be put through a series of assistants that are too busy and overworked to give a fuck about you until the doctor comes and butchers your mouth. Of course he has no idea what he is doing since he is seeing 10 other patients at the same time. I wanted to get a cavity filled, that simple, and the job he did was unbelievable bad. The filling was too low, he put too little material. So my tooth would not touch the upper tooth, which caused pain th the adjacent molars, made my tooth too sensitive and weak risking rupture. The treat you so badly here. They are so focus on money they completely forgot the dentistry part. DO NOT USE - TOXIC!!! read more

I broke a filling on Monday. I emailed Webster Dental Care on Tuesday. I was in the dentist's chair on Thursday. I was fixed up about an hour later, even though I showed up ten minutes late. My tooth feels great, and the price was a little more than half what other places charge. read more

I had a horrible experience with Webster Dental. I was told my root canal was optional and deferred to the dentist's judgment. The dentist took 2 visits to finish the root canal and despite being told that I had heart surgery and needed a premed forgot to order 1 for me prior to 1 of my visits.. Four crown attempts later (4 separate visits to the dentist) and with much less tooth then I started, I am going to a different dentist. Additionally, I had equipment dropped on my head while getting a filling put in, and on several occasions the dental assistant corrected the dentist regarding what tools and material to use, with the dentist deferring to his assistant. Webster Dental did refund my portion of the crown (which they had me pay in full prior to crown being placed). They stated, however that they are returning the insurance portion to the insurance company and that I need to check with the insurance company prior to getting my crown to make sure they processed the return (or I will have no insurance coverage for the crown b/c it would appear that Webster Dental had already placed the crown on the tooth)... All and all a terrible experience. read more

Only needed one tooth bonded. Waited 1/2 hour in dentist's chair. Read magazines. Dr. White comes in, sits down, looks in mouth for a nanosecond. A piece of his equipment was not working correctly, Dr. White leaves in a bit of a huff. Asst fixes equipment with a turn of a knob. Wait another 1/2 hour in dentist chair for him to come back. I ask asst if he's coming back and she tells me he's with another patient! He finally comes back and the procedure takes 10 minutes! No apology or even an acknowledgment of having me wait for ONE HOUR laying down in the chair. I did leave with ass't's very hollow apology. Secretary taking money had a giant chip on her shoulder as well. Extremely frustrating dental experience. Would NOT recommend. read more

The only dentist in St Louis that offers hassle free conscious sedation for dental procedures. They give a 5% discount for paying upfront with cash or check. Is not too expensive, even without dental insurance. I highly recommend them. I have been going here for over 10 years and I have never had a bad experience. I was thinking about getting Invisalign but was concerned about the high price tag. Since my front teeth were the only ones that really needed straightening, Dr. White offered a much cheaper approach and that saved me a few thousand dollars. After the process of wearing these trays he took the time and concern to fine tune my front teeth to make them look perfect. After my one front tooth got in line, it was longer than the one next to it. I know this sounds weird... But he was able to grind it down to match it up with the one next to it. Then he proceeded to raise my gum line to make my teeth look a little longer. It's unfortunate to see a few bad reviews, but I got nothing but positive things to say about Webster Dental Care. read more

I've never had a better experience with a dentist. I needed a fairly large amount of work done and had just had a terrible experience with another dentist. Dr Krobath promised we could fix it no problem and that's exactly what he did! Not to mention that here I was charged about 1/3 of what the other office wanted to charge me. The first set of crowns that came in just didn't fit quite right, and the staff agreed, so we sent them back and they specified to the lab what needed to be changed. When they came back this time they were absolutely perfect! Dr. Krobath and all of the girls at the office are super friendly and genuinely seemed to care about my comfort and happiness. I've only been on the cleaning end, so I've not experienced the surgery end of things, however I did once think I had a growth and was directed to the surgery side. I've never had an issue with Webster Dental and I've been a client for eons. Dr. White was my dentist who checked my teeth and as much as I tried to make something of my teeth, they have always been perfect. Amy was my hygienist. Unfortunately, both Amy and Dr. White are no longer with Webster. I now am seeing Nicole and I may have to have a filling, but we are watching the tooth. The one time I went to the surgery area I saw Dr. Habek. Both Nicole and Dr. Habek were wonderful and helpful and put me at ease. They gave me recommendations on taking care of my teeth and to watch the possible growth (gone now). Bottom line is I've never had an issue with anyone at Webster Dental and with my new hygienist and possible oral surgeon, all I can say is that they are wonderful. All of my bills have been submitted to insurance and I've never had a problem thus far. I've been going to Webster Dental since the 1990's and that's a very long time. The staff has changed, but the service has always been top notch, from the hygienist area, the front desk area all the way to the wonderful concerned Drs. who check my teeth and mouth post cleaning. read more

My experience with Webster Dental: Drove in the pouring rain from St. Charles county. Got lost. I was willing to drive that far because the thought of going to the dentist filled me with dread and I had heard good things about Webster Dental. I was excited at the thought of finding a good anxiety free dentist. Was supposed to arrive 10 mins early to do paperwork, but because I got lost, I got there at precisely my appointment time. One other patient in waiting room. Was greeted pleasantly, completed forms and sat down to wait. Waited, and waited. No one in the waiting room, except an occasional patient who arrived and was quickly taken in to be seen. After waiting 50 minutes, I asked at the desk about the delay. Again, the receptionist was very nice. She left and came back to say that they were just cleaning up a room. She apologized and said that it was "the way things happened." I sat back down for another three minutes and decided that was it and left. I was frustrated and upset at having to wait nearly an hour, especially since the office was empty of patients and here I am, a new patient. You'd think they would take special care with a new patient. To sum up my experience with Webster Dental, I wasted nearly three hours of my time, which included round trip white-knuckle driving on I-270 in the pouring rain. read more

It took Dr. White 2 tubes of Novocain to finally get my mouth numb, they left me sitting for 20 minutes with an impression in my mouth which almost gagged me to death, and the temporary crown popped off hours after leaving. Complete ripoff. My wife and I had been going there for quite some time. Suddenly, they were out of our insurance network. They did not mention this to us, but charge us both a ridiculous amount out of pocket for simple cleanings which should have been covered 90% even out of network. They claimed that the 90% was based on Metlife's fee schedule, and theirs is a lot higher. They were unsympathetic and unwilling to help or work with us. I would not recommend Webster Dental Care. I first went here about a year ago as they took my new dental insurance. I went for a normal check-up and the experience was okay. I had to wait for a while to be seen and then only saw the dentist for a minute or so. However, when I received the bill I was charged a $1 new patient fee in addition to my insurance co-payments. Apparently that is the new patient "discount". I called to complain that I did not want the $1 discount since it is in fact a surcharge. The staff was incredibly rude and couldn't understand the concept and then told me I shouldn't worry about such as small amount. I agree, $1 is not much but it is the principle and the fact that when I asked to not get the "discount" they said that was impossible. Move forward 6 months to my next cleaning. Again, a long wait but uneventful and now was spared the new patient fee. I went again this December with my husband, who was a new patient there for a routine check-up. We had the same issue with the new patient $1 surcharge. I can handle that. However, they found 4 cavities in his mouth. We made a follow-up appointment to have them filled but called in advance to be sure what the cost would be. The cost was too much for us to fill all four so we decided to fill just 2 cavities. We get the bill from insurance and it includes no discount (my insurance says this provider provides as 20-30% discount off usual rate of fillings for people with my insurance). The cost was much higher than they quoted us. We called to ask why there was no discount. They said the insurance would not accept the claim. We call the insurance and see they billed the wrong doctor. There are 2 doctors in the practice and apparently they don't take the same insurance. Regardless, the doctor we saw was in-plan so they messed that up. Once that was resolved and it was determined the doctor (White) was in-network they still did not give the said 20-30% discount. They tried to argue that it wasn't that much anyways and it did not matter that they gave us a quote off by more than a hundred dollars. They also said that since they filled it with a white filling instead of metal it was not discounted at all. First, they never gave my husband an option. Second, they knew we were on a budget so why would they have given us the more expensive filling option. I called the insurance and they said there should be no difference between the two options. They finally agreed to give us 50% off the remaining balance out of the goodness of their hearts. After spending countless hours dealing with this I am resigned and give up. I will pay the remaining balance. I was never allowed to speak to the actual dentist and owner of the practice during this entire process to provide feedback. I am writing this review to let others know the experience I had with the staff, which were unprofessional and demeaning to the patients and the billing. I wrote a formal complaint with my insurance company. They cited the providers for over-billing and they were instructed to provide a refund. They failed to provide this within the 30 day time frame. The insurance company ended up paying the difference and am unsure how my insurance and the providers are resolving this. I hope to spare others the time/effort/hassle for unacceptably poor service. read more

I had been a client of Webster Dental Care for many years until my last visit. The hygienist I've been seeing does a wonderful job, knowledgeable, thorough, caring. I was then seen by a new dentist, who after describing that I had a bleeding, painful front tooth, told me that my options were Invisalign (they could refer me) or eventually I'd just lose the tooth (he didn't seem bothered at all by that possibility). The hygienist then told me I could try a much more affordable solution, a retainer ($150 vs $5000 Invisalign) that I could wear at night, keeping the tooth from moving farther. I decided to try a retainer and she had another dental assistant immediately take an impression; paid in full before I left. About a week later, I received a call that I'd need to come in for another impression, apparently the 1st was not good enough for the lab (it happens). Went in for the 2nd impression and after waiting 3-4 weeks, called to check the progress on my retainer. The receptionist could not find anything, so said she'd call back. Received a call later that the lab said they had delivered the retainer to their office, but they didn't know where it was and I would need to return for another impression. I requested a refund instead and after a while being on hold, finally processed my request. Will not be returning. read more

Front desk staff not friendly at all. Wait for a 1/2 hour plus past your scheduled appointment to see doctor and then they keep leaving once they get your room. Have trouble doing a root canal. Prices are really no cheaper than other dentists. Find someone else to go to!!!! I'll elaborate on the root canal situation. The female dentist Dr. Wheeling did it. After the numbness wore off, it still bothered me and kept bothering me. She poor me on antibiotics. That didn't work. She had me come in and redid it and had another dentist help. Still did not fix the pain. They refunded the part for the root canal only. Was not happy with that at all. She said because the crown was still good, but actually it broke and feel off and even that had to be redone. I could not afford to go to an endodontist and have it redone again because just the root canal would be $1900 and then I was told that the crown would no longer be good, because they go through it. Several dentists keep telling me to redo it, but with what money?? I went again yesterday and this dentist actually showed me the xray and explained what was done incorrectly and I could see it for myself. They underfilled the root and now there is an abscess. Why couldn't Dr. Wheeler see that? Why couldn't the other dentist that came in and helped her see that on the xray? Still dealing with pain years later and no hope of being pain free do to cost. If a dentist cannot do a root canal or thinks they will been unable to do it, thru should not do it. Dr. Wheeler is no longer there, but because of her, I have non confidence in this practice. read more

As a patient of this dental practice since Dr. White's father was practicing-years of bad experience. Have such an investment here, feel like I can't go anywhere else. He has had to fix HIS mistakes, no one else will for free. On numerous occasions there were wait times of 45 MINUTES PLUS for a scheduled appointment. If they can't get their scheduling straight and help their current patients don't take anymore new patients. On Monday was there for a scheduled appointment with an additional complaint of a severe toothache ( pain level 10) . By the end of the treatment the toothache was never addressed-had to ask again about what can be done. Was told they WERE TOO BUSY that day to address it-could you come back Thur? REALLY ?? WAIT 3 DAYS TO ADDRESS A severe toothache? What kind of patient care is that?? ended up being told to come back there the next day at 9 am. Sat there for 2 1/2 hours until being seen- guess what? X-RAY showed pocket of pus- INFECTION. Had to ask for antibiotics. I would consider this negligence . Staff is rude. Word of mouth means a lot for referrals. I WOULD NEVER recommend this practice read more
