    I have been a customer with American Eagle Credit Union for about 5 years now, however my family…read morehas been banking with them for well over 30years. For the past few days, I have tried to use my debit card online to order a couple things only for my card to be denied. I went to a webster bank a t m and was denied saying my card was restricted.I went to bank of america a t m tried again was told my card was restricted. I went to the american eagle branch in cromwell.To find out what was wrong with my card?Because there was plenty of money in my savings and or my checking account.I was only trying to make a simple cash withdrawal. I walked in and told the teller, what was wrong, What issues i was having and I even showed her a receipt from the webster bank ATM, showing card restricted.She looked at me and said, "well, this is for a webster bank." I responded, okay, well, what does that matter? I can use my american eagle a t m card at all.A t m machines, so what would webster bank have to do with anything? " no response. She asked me what I was trying to do. Again.I told her I was trying to do a simple cash withdrawal, and she said, well, I can withdraw cash for you here, and I said, "well, I want to find out what's wrong with my card.Why am I being restricted?I've never been restricted before.What is going on with my card?Can you look?"She asks me how much money i'm looking to withdraw. I tell her how much cash she asks.How would I like that cash?I tell her. Again I asked her," do you see anything flagged on my account That would cause my card to be denied?" She hands me my cash , my receipt tells me to have a good day. Again I asked her ," why was my card denied? As you can see, there's plenty of money in there! Why was my card denied not only online from Websites that Ive used my card on before.But now at atm machines that I should be able to use my card at with no problem. " she had a blank look on her face. It wasn't time to leave.It was only 3:10-3:20 p m on monday afternoon! There was only one other customer in the branch with me. There are two other tellers that are not doing anything and the customer service rep.Sitting at her desk with no customer. So it's not like I was there at an extremely busy time or at closing time.I am conscious and considerate of things like that. She shakes your head no she didn't see anything. I'm thinking in my head.You didn't see anything because you didn't look.Thanks for nothing. I go across the way to shoprite, I do some grocery shopping.My bill comes to seventy dollars and guess what.???? I go to use my a t m card and yep you got it denied!!!! But there was nothing wrong with my card!!! Fortunately, I have other forms of payment, but that's not the point.Why would I want to put my grocery bill on a credit card?Where I have to pay interest?!?! That's right.I have an a t m debit card so I don't have to use a credit card because if I don't have the cash I don't buy it.That's how that works. After I leave shoprite, I call the 1-800 # on the back of my card. A very nice gentleman answer the phone.I explain the situation to him.And while I was explaining what had happenedHe was already accessing my account to follow along with me to find out what the problem was.And by the time I finished telling him all the fun things, and they're pleasant crappy experience I had at the branch in cromwell- he found the reason. It was as simple as I have alerts set on my account to go off and alert me for everything pretty much and if I miss an alert.And I do not acknowledge it, it restricts my card. Fantastic.I love that feature, and you know, it was my fault for missing that alert. But how hard would it have been for that Teller to take two minutes at the end of her day and mind you, She still had 45 minutes left of her day, but how hard would it have been??? Obviously not very hard because from the start of my conversation with the gentleman I spoke to last night, with me going into detail as to what had been going on with my card, with him confirming five transactions to make sure that they were my transactions, to confirming who I was my information, my contact information, my driver's license number et cetera. That call might have taken 4 minutes! I have always been very pleased with American Eagle Credit Union. I have never had anything negative to say ever. Until my experience yesterday december 1st at approx. 310pm . She was a middle-aged teller, she sat to the far right, she wasn't the last teller, she sat to the right In the next seat on the right from the last teller. That was a poor excuse for customer service. I was so disgusted for her blatant disrespect. You should not be a teller and work in customer service if you are not prepared to service the customer. Someone might need to be retrained or Maybe american eagle needs to restructure their employees with employees who actually care about their job and care about the customer.

    Staff inside is always nice, but their drive up atm machine is often broken. Happened today and the…read morelast time I went to the bank. Terribly inconvenient, especially on off hours when lobby is closed.
