The beauty of M/Body is that they really offer everything, including personal training and some options for getting workouts in around normal class times. HIIT classes were (and still are) my absolute favorite, and the classes here are exciting and station based. I will never take barre again based on my experience here, but that has more to do with me and nothing to do with the quality of the classes - pretty sure this is one of the best barre experiences in the area...I just think all barre experiences are criminal and TORTURE. I digress. If you're looking for a snappy, clean facility in a perfect location, M/Body is for you. They consistently run specials on pricing and are especially good to their first timers. The mailbox eventually says it hasn't been set up. ...I eventually had to send an email to corporate, look around in my spam folder for a response days later, and go through infuriating obstacles and hoops to talk to a person. For a second time, I am attempting to quit while two billing cycles have gone by. I must remind myself the employee at the end of management's stick are not the problem. Gimme luck. Since it is a small local place class sizes tend to be small and the gym has plenty of open spots to workout. All of the staff is amazing and every class I have been to is great. They have so many possible times to get to each day just incase you work its pretty easy to still get to classes. They offer tabata, spin classes, burn workouts, yoga and every few months they add in new classes they offer. That being said, I feel like the courts are not too well maintained, balls are terrible and old and renting the court for an hour is extremely overpriced for what you get (I have only been on the regular courts, not the sand courts). In regards to the bar area, looks like prices are pretty reasonable there for drinks (they served cider in the cheap milk plastic cups they have in cafeterias though instead of real bar glasses, which was very strange). Yes, I might seem biased since I'm a student here, but I think many outsiders agree too. The fitness center is set up on two floors. The first floor is mainly for lifting. There are plenty of free weights and different machines. The second floor has two levels. The first level of the second floor has an open floor area with mats, different machines, and a jungle gym looking structure with different bars and ropes. The second level of the second floor has a ton of cardio equipment and TVs. Beyond the cardio area is a smaller free weights area and plenty of other machines. This fitness center pretty much has every type of machine you can think of. Besides the gym, there are a ton of courts for all types of sports, tracks, and two different pools. One pool is a large one used for swimming and diving while the other pool is more for recreational use that includes a lazy river and a large capacity hot tub! The fitness center is well kept and usually isn't too crowded, depending on when you go. There's only a few things I dislike about this place. First of all, there is no steam room!!! I absolutely love using a steam room after working out and I am surprised they don't have one here (but they do have a sauna). Sometimes it can be impossible to find a parking space when RIT is hosting sports events for other schools in the field house. Lastly (this is tailored toward all my fellow students that use the gym), that awkward moment when you see your professors naked in the locker room haha!

All of the coaches current and former are all amazing... truly inspiring, dedicated and caring for everyone. They know when you are injured and give you modified exercises. The owners Stephen and Sam truly care about your well being and the larger Rochester community with frequent donations, food drives and fundraising that goes beyond their gym. "Coach" Stephen comes off as decent person on the surface, but his true nature is more fraudulent than anything. I want to be clear this behavior isn't shared by the other coaches as well, but solely him. I was enticed to join the program through instagram, where they advertised a 6-week transformation program. When meeting in person, I was explicitly told that the program was worth over 1,000$ (which clearly isn't true), yet i was being offered the price of 600$ for the 6 weeks I would attend. The true pricing that they offer attendees is either 39-49$ a week, which means I was charged double than the highest rate they even offer regular people. If this could be done to me, this could also be done to other people and I hope my review prevents this from happening to other people. The worst part is that he sells it to you as if your interest is truly on his mind, when his entire objective is to sell you on a dream. The only difference between the 6 week program and the regular classes is that you meet biweekly with a coach and log meals onto an app they have you download in the beginning. There is no special treatment and they even limit the amount of classes you can do within the 6 weeks. The slimiest part about him is that he had the nerve to shake my hand and smile in my face like he didn't lie to me. He doesn't even teach any of the classes there, he's simply the owner of a business trying to capitalize on those looking to better their health. The overall environment of the classes is great, the other boxers are nice people and the legitimate coaches are actually trying to see you do better. I just wish that there was more transparency on the pricing because ultimately I was scammed. I want to be clear this review has nothing to do with the progress I made during the 6 weeks, but I want to be sure anybody attempting to attend these classes knows exactly what they are getting into so that they don't end up getting scammed the way I did.
