The meat, bread, desserts and coffee are amazing. You get a discount if you're a member, but it's expensive and you have to do volunteer work as part of the membership. What I'm most concerned about is the political climate at Weavers Way Ambler. It's supposed to be a democracy correct? I've been met a few times with "that's the way it is attitude " I thought the point was to make a neighborhood of people come together. The philosophy behind the co-op has left the building. Interesting spot that anyone can be part owner in for a one time fee of $400 for life. This is a memership buy in and you will receive discounts and can actually sell back your equity in the company if you choose you no longer want to be a member. I only had a few minutes to shop here as I was pressed for time but ended up getting some of my favorite items which include : Half Sour Pickles, Garlic Shrimp, Anchovies, Salmon Salad, and quite a few gluten free cookies for the gf. Only qualm is I bought spinach that was the Weavers Way brand and noticed it was more expensive than a name brand right next to it. Also, when checking out for the first time she asked if I was a member and I said no this was the first time I am ever shopping here. When I asked do I save money if I am a member she simply said yes but did not explain how to join etc. To be fair I only had a few minutes and wouldn't have signed up on the stop if it costs $400 but a little information would have been nice being a first time shopper of the store. I would come back again to dive a little deeper in what else the store has in it as they do have some good finds that you will most likely not find in any of your generic Acmes' or Giants'. I've been going to Weavers Way for about 29 years. Glad to see their growth. It was my first time coming to this location. I must say it's very nice!!! They started from the bottom and now they're here!!! Parking: Lot Atmosphere: bright and inviting. Service: Mira helped me. She was very helpful. I have to learn the lay of the land. Been going as member just about a year now though I shopped since it opened. I have a renewed diet due to chronic illness and everything I need is Herr. Renewing cooking skills to mainly pesdicarian diet I find the seafood excellent. The fresh bread is great too. I've enjoyed the fresh soups and salmon prepped meals are superb. I've also discovered veggies never tried before and loving them as well. I appreciate all the staff and their politeness and kind nature's. I miss the old sandwich bar but the pre made sandwiches are good. This coop is very clean and the coffee for free when I was drinking it was a delight. Weaver's Way Ambler is def. my go to gourmet, homeopathic and bulk grocery store. We joined as lifetime members and never regretted it. Coops have so much more heart and local connection than the big chain stores. They also don't sell cigarettes and other tobacco products which I want to support. Another big plus is that they buy from local small farms, offer paper bags instead of plastic and are super friendly and helpful. read more

I came here with my bother whom loves shopping here. It looks, smells, and feels EXACTLY like a Wholefoods and ALSO has items u can find at Wholefoods. Its a Co-Op Grocer. I highly recommend an ice cream brand Aldens. Anything with Chocolate chip stuff in it. U have NEVER HAD ANYTHING LIKE THAT! I'm usually not an Indian Food loving person but they had frozen chicken samosas that were really good. The employees also shop here and know EVERYTHING about the products. So, whenever I asked my brother something and he had no idea, they all chimed in with lots of knowledge, and recommendations. Finally we have a grocery store in Ambler! Weavers way occupies the former Aldi store right along Butler Ave near Lindenwold Ave. They did a fantastic job renovating the store! This location has a cafe with plenty of seating and made to order sandwiches. When I stopped in I tried their Italian hoagie. It was small but packed full and I really enjoyed it. I thought the price ($10) was a bit high for the size of the hoagie. While I was waiting for my hoagie I spoke with two of the counter employees who were extremely nice and shared a lot of information about the co-op. In addition to the cafe there is a hot bar and salad bar. I haven't have a chance to do my grocery shopping here yet but I will update this review once I do. read more

It's really nice having the co-op right in town. We haven't had a grocery store in forever. I don't get all of my stuff here but i do regularly go in for prepared foods and packaged stuff from the case. First off, the weavers way marinated olives are my favorite. You also can't go wrong with anything they have, my favorites are the kale Caesar salad, honey sriracha brussel spouts, chicken tenders, shepherds pie, but it's all good. The produce is really good too and sometimes they have some really good deals. Also $4 dinners on fridays is great. They have a lot of natural, organic, and local brands. They have a pretty good selection of plant based products and a large bulk foods section. It's really just a great store all around. read more

Have been going here since they first opened--great customer service, great food--lots of local food (produce, meat, honey, etc), high quality food. The produce is fresh, so much of it local, and they have everything I need. Nice selection of mushrooms. The local meats are great quality. They make a point of having reasonable prices in their store brand (Field Day, which is a good quality brand). Great selection of vitamins and supplements. Great selection of bulk foods (nuts, rice, flours, spices, coffee, etc). There bagels are delicious-- chewy outside, soft and dense inside, much less expensive than buying them at the bagel store where they are baked. Stryker Farm meats are not inexpensive, but they are delicious and I appreciate having the option to buy top quality and local meat. Their bakery bread is excellent as well, priced the same or cheaper than buying from the actual bakeries where they are baked. Love Epler's maple syrup. Huge asset in our area. read more

Nice little grocery in the downtown. Everything is very high quality and prices aren't terrible for what you get. Tried their $4 Friday dinner and was extremely satisfied. For just $4, you get a hot main entree and 2 sides between 4-8 PM. This week was the St. Paddy's Day Irish veggie stew, salad, and roll w/butter. I love their Ambler t-shirts. I love this concept and the selections are amazing. Yes it costs a lot but most of the products are from small businesses. Being a co-op you save money if you join and the profits mostly go to the community. Therefore I prefer paying people like myself for top notch products rather than a lot to a CEO so he/she can buy another house, while the products are average at best. So glad to have this local store in Ambler. It reminds me of how the Whole Foods used to be back before it got corporate when it was a Fresh Fields store in Montgomeryville. The prepared sandwiches are big in both quality and quantity, big enough for two people to share. They have hard-to-find items like fresh yeast for baking and local honey. The Sweet Water Baking Company breads may be a bit pricey but for delicious wood-fired bread from a company that helps adults with developmental disabilities it is worth it. The staff are also very friendly. It feels good to shop at a locally run co-op rather than a big corporate store. read more

I went to Weavers Way and bought a gluten free bread for half price. It was $4.99...the full price was $9.99 which, i didn't know because there were no prices on the breads. I was shocked when i got to the checkout person. When i remarked at the full price she, gave me an exsperated response, roughly pushed the bread aside as i paid for it, didn't provide a receipt or ask if i wanted it bagged. I had interrupted her conversation with her colleage across frim her at the other register. Sorry princess! That was my first experience at Weaver's Way with the sacred overpriced Amaranth bread and a rude checkout experience. I think i will stick with "Whole Foods"... P.S. What a beautiful new co-op. We stopped in for $4 Fridays. Great meat and vegan options for everyone. I opted for lentil sloppy joes and cole slaw. Excellent value for the money. Of course while I was there I had to check out the rest of the store. Picked up some delicious Crust Vegan bakery items. Can't wait to go back for a $4 dinner. This place is awesome! The experience from the moment you walk in the doors to when you leave is incredible. When I started working in Ambler, I wanted to find a place where I could get a healthy lunch quickly and this place provides just that. They have a deli, hot bar, salad bar and also a few sections with pre-packaged meals that you can quickly grab and go. The pre-packaged Macaroni Salad here is to die for. It has a perfect amount of mayo sauce and fresh veggies which makes it so incredible! Definite 10/10! The hot bar is another favorite due to the fact that it has something new every day which is FRESH and HEALTHY! There is a wide variety of organic items throughout the isles which makes this place so intriguing and delightful! The prices on some items are kind of high but that's the price you pay for fresh, organic food. There may also be some items missing that you can find at other grocery stores but it really is not an issue because they make up for it with a bunch of items that you can only find at Weavers. I love how this place has items from all over Ambler too which makes it feel like home. There were a few items that I bought that I was not a total fan of but it did not prevent me from going back and seeking more. The workers are so kind and helpful as well. Ask anyone for help finding something and they are quick to leave what they are doing and guide you to what you are looking for. The cashiers are super friendly as well making the whole experience amazing! If you have not stepped food inside this place, you are missing out! A visit to this place is a definite MUST! read more

Love it more here as time goes by. They've listened to customers and have added more brands of staples you know (including OJ that isn't $8 a bottle!). Their $4 friday night meals is an amazing deal and cheaper than going to fast food (if that's your thing) and it's fresh and home cooked. My wife and I anxiously awaited the opening of this store, but, unfortunately, we have been disappointed with the lack of value. The produce and meat are fresh and of quality; however, the purchasing done for the goods on the shelves was done without consideration to basic goods - The least costly loaf of white bread is currently four dollars. While the store is conveniently located right on Butler in Ambler Borough, all-in-all it doesn't make sense to do the majority of your grocery shopping here. I sincerely hope they make it, but would strongly suggest more diversity in price, especially in the basic items that everyone needs. read more

Its wonderful to have a healthy, convenient, community-owned grocery store in Ambler! When possible, Weavers Way sources local food, from produce to bread to cheese to nut butter to health and beauty products. Everything is good quality and healthy, plus it really supports the community, including our friends and neighbors who work for or own the companies supplying this food. I've switched to exclusively buying my food at Weavers Way since they opened, instead of Wegmans and Trader Joes. Weavers Way offers a co-op basics program, in which items that are a great value are identified with purple labels. They also carry the "field day" brand in many products, a generic label exclusive to co-ops around the country, which is very cost-friendly. I absolutely adore their bulk items, which includes the typical spices, nuts, beans, etc, but also certain beauty products and cleaners. My husband has switched to using the bulk dish detergent, which is a steal at less than $2 for a whole bottle, and which he says is better than his previous favorite brand, Mrs Meyers, which often cost over $3 per bottle. The prepared foods are great too! I love their salad bar for a great lunch after my shopping. Their house-made guacamole is much better than Wegmans. Their sandwich counter is also worth a visit - try the banh mi! Their specialty cheese and meat/seafood counters are also fresh and offer great quality products. The store itself is also beautiful, of course. A real treat to have this as a part of the Ambler retail scene! I love the fact that this is a cooperative market. It enables the community to know where the fresh food is coming from, and supports private farms, bakeries, and other businesses. Also, members do a small amount of volunteering per year, which adds to the community ambiance. I would like to see the deli area lower their prices a bit, though. They have a system where you can volunteer for a small discount although I have not personally taken advantage of it. So happy I finally went in! Yes, it's a little bit more pricey than the Giant I usually go to but the quality is worth it! The produce was all good and I didn't have to weed through a bunch of bad stuff. There are signs that tell you where the produce came from which is neat. Lots of fresh made food options. Not a enough value here. Very happy to have a grocery store in the Ambler borough for the convenience but it is pricey. Stopped by on the way home from work to get grilled cheese ingredients. Spent $12 on a loaf of bread and butter. The store is beautiful and clean; employees are friendly. I will be sure to stock up at Trader Joe's and Costco so I don't make the same mistake of "stopping in" after work. I will most likely only utilize this store for the local produce.
