Weavers is one of Nottingham's oldest wine independent businesses. Established in 1844 by Edward Cossal Weaver. Many of their staff have been with them a long time and they are encouraged to take their Wine and Spirit Exams and taste their wines regularly. They understand how impart is knowledge to you and their staff. I love this plac! You instantly get the feel of being like a kid in a candy shop again, quite literally, as you gaze up at the shelves stacked high with all types of weird and wonderful spirits from around the world. There appears to be a great range on offer here, from the standard brands on sale in the supermarkets to the more rare and exotic brands available on a variety of different spirits and other drinks. Dont worry either if you are not entirely sure what it is you should be looking for in here. If you like me you do not know what the difference between a good and bad whiskey is, just that you want to get a treat for your dad, then they are people here on hand to provide you with just that type of advice. The shop as it is small gives that nice homely type of feel and the people working in there are very approachable and as I mentioned above are also very knowledgeable about their products and happy to offer some advice and guidance. I will certainly be calling in here in the run up to Christmas and buying my brother some Bison vodka and maybe treating my dad to a posh whiskey that comes in its own wooden box! read more
