Super tasty quality food, I noticed that on the menu it even tells you which farm the meat came from, or where the ice cream was made etc. The Greek Lamb and the Gammon are both brilliant. The portions are huge and I'm always left with enough food for another meal but save room for the Holly Bush sundae because you wont ever have a such a selection of tasty locally made ice cream :) The prices are great too, last time I went it was around 30quid for the 2 of us.

It has an extensive hot and cold menu all cooked fresh and the most delightful sweet menu, some of the sweets tempt you on the way in as they are displayed in the chiller counter The staff are all ways very happy and extremely friendly. If you prefer not to have waiter / waitress service The Soup Kitchen also has an area you can queue buy what delights you want and find a table, but from many previous experiences of this place it is much better to have the waiter /waitress service. I'd been in here once or twice before just for a quick drink before heading somewhere else but didnt get the feel for the place (it was very quiet then) but last night was 'folk night'. It was really lovely, people were just sat around with their instruments and all did their little thing (the guy on the fiddle obviously knew what he was doing so played along to most of the songs). There were no microphones or anything. It was all low key and very welcoming. Aparently this folk night is on every Tuesday and if its good weather they move out to the beer garden and play & sing there instead. Theres a wide selection of drinks available, although, when I say a wide selection of drinks I actually mean ales. Dont expect any fancy cocktails. If you dont want ale your left with the choice of a few spirits. Outside the front door theres a sign saying something like 'NO pool table, NO sky sports, NO cocktails, ------ TOWN THAT WAY!' I think thats all you need to know to get a firm idea of what this place is like :) They also serve food, nothing fancy: chilli, cottage pie, curry, fish & chips, salads, jackets etc. any meal is £6.50 Food is only served between 12-2 and 6-9. The kids meals are very good and also adult ones as well. Only one bone to pick, my plate was too small when i had a carvery, had to keep refilling. The hole pub looks like the set of yes Prime minister from the 80s and with out getting to personal the staff's hygiene was not up to scratch if they can't put deodorant on or clean there teeth why would you want to be severed by them? as for not being a staff review it is the only review done by this person and reads like an advert even mentioning the companies other establishments. after painfully finding out this review was not correct I choose not to do I bad review only to point out how the one i had read was incorrect. as for your assurance its not done by staff . please don't presume that i hadn't been there.
