Our family had a wonderful meal here. The food was very good and the service was outstanding. I would recommend a visit.

I was supposed to go out on the town last night, but wasnt really in the mood - so I changed from…read moremy LBD to jeans & tee and headed down to the Spittal Brook. I'd been in here once or twice before just for a quick drink before heading somewhere else but didnt get the feel for the place (it was very quiet then) but last night was 'folk night'. It was really lovely, people were just sat around with their instruments and all did their little thing (the guy on the fiddle obviously knew what he was doing so played along to most of the songs). There were no microphones or anything. It was all low key and very welcoming. Aparently this folk night is on every Tuesday and if its good weather they move out to the beer garden and play & sing there instead. Theres a wide selection of drinks available, although, when I say a wide selection of drinks I actually mean ales. Dont expect any fancy cocktails. If you dont want ale your left with the choice of a few spirits. Outside the front door theres a sign saying something like 'NO pool table, NO sky sports, NO cocktails, ------ TOWN THAT WAY!' I think thats all you need to know to get a firm idea of what this place is like :) They also serve food, nothing fancy: chilli, cottage pie, curry, fish & chips, salads, jackets etc. any meal is £6.50 Food is only served between 12-2 and 6-9. Afraid I havnt tried it yet but as soon as I do I'll update this review!

Set back from the road I imagine they don't receive the foot fall that they deserve but it's well worth seeking out if you're looking for a great pint in Stafford

We were on a road trip to Wales, charging up the M6 and were in need of lunch. On driving through…read moretown, we saw something about being the best in Staffordshire or something - so we turned around and gave it a shot. We sat in the pub area around 1pm on a weekday and it was buzzing. The restaurant was casual, English pub, but had a very nice, upscale feel to it. They have quite a few beers on tap and since we were there in winter, they had mulled wine. We got the chicken club, fish and chips, and 2 people got the pan seared sea bass. Everyone was very happy with their lunch. I ate the club and was very happy with my meal. The service was great as well. If you are flying through on the M6 and are looking for a break to grab a good meal, stop in at the Littleton Arms.

This place is a firm hometown family favourite…read more I mean, we're on a first name bays with a lot of the staff. It's hard to review a single time, as I've been here so often I forget to check in. The bar is well stocked, isually a good range of beers and ales on tap, including one of my summer favourites, frulii. They even have prosecco on tap, good gin list, which is always a fab selling point for me, and a good range of wines, spirits, and a dinky but varied cocktail list. Pick and mix of sweet, nuts, wasabi peas etc behind the bar, and excellent tasty bar bites, cake, fudge, allsorts on the bar, which always has arrangements of fresh flowers from across the road. I am yet to have a disappointing visit here. Honestly, nights out, Chrostmas eve drinks, meals as a family, as a couple, as huge tables of extended family, the food is always great, fresh local produce, hearty meals, great range of meat, game, veggies, your lot. I would be surprised if someone couldn't find something they liked on the menu. Hot drinks are great too, afternoon tea is good value and super tasty, and it's changed hands a couple of times in the 18 years I grew up there, and the prices have risen ofc, but it's always been pretty excellent, with great rooms and breakfast to boot too. Would happily recommend to anyone, and worth travelling to if you like your good pub grub!
