It is comforting knowing they will explain things without the runaround, and provide fair pricing, and delivery of services are usually met on time. 2024-07-26. Wear Master Utica. It's been a while since I wrote a review on this location so I figured it was time for a quick update. There's a reason why I still come here for all my automotive needs and it can be summed up in one word: INTEGRITY. The Utica location is the absolute best one of them all in SE Michigan in my opinion. The staff is professional and courteous and they continue their MO of only providing the services you want and need without "finding" any issues with your vehicle. The staff is honest and the mechanics perform excellent service. I've had several services performed on my 25 year old car and it still runs smoothly. I've tried other locations in the past and the service just isn't the same. For the past few years, I've been devoted to this one in Utica. Great place to come, I took my wife's VW Jetta here for brakes and rotors. Spencer's got me 12am on a Saturday with no appointment and no prior notice to ordering the parts. Took 1 hour and 44 mins to get me in and out Volkswagen quoted me 651.57$ to change front B&R's ( I LAUGHED AT THE ROBBERY! ) Spencer got me out the door with better quality B&R for 331$, I could've got the lower quality for 265$ No complaints here, will be coming back. The technician even notified me whoever changed the brakes before, only did a pad slap and left it. Very helpful to know so I don't go to wherever it was before. read more

I brought my truck here a while back for having no heat. After a few short flushes of the heater core they told me it needed a new one so I trusted them and said OK. They charged me $1400 to put a new one in and in doing so they scratch the living hell out of the paint on my door frames. They didn't put my console back together and left my engine bay a complete mess. Also my reservoir was completely empty and My radiator was also in the very low. And to top everything off I still have no heat the heater core which they told me was bad and would fix it did not fix it! I had them repair all the damage they caused during the "Repair" and took it to a reputable shop down the road. They never once offered me any type of money off or back, I was going to dispute it and not pay but that's not what I am about but I will never ever be back. read more

Had some problems with my car and these guys tirelessly figured out what was wrong with it. I have a 92 Mitsubishi and with it being an older car it is harder for me to replace things in it when something goes wrong. My car stalled out earlier this year and I took it to Wear Master, my sister goes here already when she needs her van worked on. I am so glad I went here. They are super nice and don't talk down to you at all. They had to send my vehicle to another shop they work with from time to time, to get the new computer installed. However, after less than 3 months the car started acting up again. I had a friend look at it and he said it was a bad computer. I took it back to Wear Master and they tested it and sent it back to the other shop to have them replace it again. This is where Wear Master really stepped up, after being told from the other shop it was "Something Else" Jim stepped up to the plate and went to bat for me and basically told the other shop "Come on look who you are talking to, I've tested it and the customer has tested it." My car runs perfectly now and "IF" I ever need anything I will come back here for sure! Also, they have a VIP program where you get 10% off labor and 8 oil changes for $15 in a year for $80 dollars. Long story short...we live in Chicago and our son is interning for GM the summer. A few weeks ago my son called to let us know his 2002 Camry sounded like a Biplane. I cringed at the notion of having to find a reputable mechanic that could address the issue quickly for us. I poured over Yelp reviews and found wearmaster...glad I did! Ken couldn't have been nicer on the phone and when we showed up with the car first thing on a Saturday morning, he was just as pleasant and accommodating. We were in town for the Indycar race on Belle Isle and Ken and his crew were able to identify and fix the exhaust pipe issue before the day was over. All at a very reasonable price! So I pulled in here because my brakes had just gone out and this was the closest place. I'm a young female and I felt very taken advantage of. They pulled my car in and said my brake caliper had froze ONLY on the front driver side tire and I was driving with my brakes on that's why they went out. They told me I needed to get new calipers, rotors, hoses, and pads on BOTH sides. They told me it was going to be $800 and I thought that was absolutely ridiculous (this was even after he gave me a military discount). I called my dad and he said he would do it and came to pick me up. He looked at everything told me it absolutely did NOT need rotors or hoses on either side and not a new caliper on the right side. He bought the one caliper and new brake pads for $87 and did it himself. They were trying to get me to do more than what was needed to my car even AFTER I asked if I needed all that done (because I'm in college and can't afford that much) and he said YES. I called a few other mechanic shops to see if it was just me thinking that $800 was crazy and 3 different places said they wouldn't charge over $300 for all of it.
