The staff here were all so kind and welcoming which made the whole experience even better. Of course the train was a must for me lol and it did not disappoint. We caught a glimpse of almost every animal which is rare for a smaller zoo. The birds had us laughing and there are some really gorgeous wild cats here. It even started raining on us and nobody cared. Somehow made it more fun. Fun fact: this is actually a rescue zoo, not a traditional one. Most of the animals here were saved from other facilities or private owners and given a second home.

It is a little ways from Austin though so keep that in mind; I think it took us about 30 mins from downtown. We realized we were pretty close to Salt Lick bbq in Driftwood from here, so we went there for lunch.

We visited the Garden and had lunch there while taking in all the unique and beautiful installations. The Alliance Children's Garden is pristine and appealing to all age ranges. We saw from small children to senior citizens in the garden. You can find a range of areas to interact in from swings to wooden structures to cave tunnel installations. Covered overhangs provide shade and welcomed seating. A blue honey comb looking structure is the focal point for the garden. This garden is super convenient to downtown Austin. Importantly, one downside of the garden was parking. With very limited parking, it made the garden less accessible.

Large space -- spread out. You've got climbing structures, slides, tunnels, swings. What I really loved was how they incorporated the playscapes into the terrain (e.g. slides and tunnels were built into hills). I also appreciated that they had activities for various ages -- my 3.5-year-old daughter enjoyed the complex climbing structure while my 1.5-year-old son liked the simple tree stump climbing structure. Splash pad nearby and ample green space to run around. Downtown is nearby so you've got a beautiful view of the skyscrapers. You've also got some less pleasant aspects. When we were parking, there was a disheveled looking man being arrested. No idea how much of a disturbance he created but the cops were taking care of it. There's a paid parking lot that fills up quickly. Terry Black's BBQ is right across the street if you got a good parking spot and want to snag some meat as well (their line moves fast).

I had a fussy 10mo and needed something to do inside as it's very cold. We've never been to Almost Grown and it seemed like a good way for my kid to let off steam. This is a very cute cafe and ice cream shop with a play place in the back. It's a $10 admission per child, parents get in free. The admission here is $8 less than Pikopye's and you're able to just walk in. Love that. As some yelpers have mentioned, it is a bit chaotic as there are so many toys around. There are lots of tables to sit and eat at within the play area. There are different play areas such as a doctor's office set up complete with little scrubs, hats, and stethoscopes. There's a firefighting area with fire fighter gear. As well as a farmer's market area with tons of toy produce. All the toys from each play area are scattered amongst the entire play room. I'm kind of wondering how often they sanitize all the toys/costumes/tables etc. as there are a lot of kids with runny noses here. Overall it's a good place for kids to come and socialize/burn some energy.

Had my 5 year old's party here recently. It was fine overall, but a few things would make me pause…read morebefore recommending it for young kid's parties: (1) Cost for value: The Little Ninja party is for ages 5 and below and only lasts 1 hour. Then 30 min in a very small room eating. There was a larger room available, so not sure why 15 kids plus parents needed to squeeze into that tight space. Consider the add on costs: It's $50 for the basic party leader option (guiding the kids through 30 min of activities on the floor--which is a good value IMO), and $50 to bring your own food. Or if you use their food, it's $25 per pizza. So the $450 party is really at least $550, unless you just have the little kids run around the space (no leader) for 1 hour and not eat anything except cake. In that simpler case, you're probably looking at about $500 (with tax). (2) Activities: About 70% of the activities the led activities could have been done in any safe space (think variations of chase, like sharks and minnows, etc.), no need to be at Octo Ninja. One activity stood out and was fun, but not for all the kids, since it took courage and muscles. My kid and several others absolutely loved that part, but it was also a one-person-at-a-time thing so it was mostly waiting in line for that. If we'd gone with the cheaper party package that is $299 for ages 5-12, you get 30 extra minutes on the floor, but younger siblings wouldn't have been allowed on the floor (bc of the time of the party) and quite a few of our guests have siblings. But I do think that version of the party is a better value and worth it. But the Little Ninja version/package is a different story, though maybe still worth it for some. The staff was very nice and everyone had a good time overall. Hot tip: Know that your Party Host is the only one allowed to bring you things like forks and plates. So get that stuff sorted out before they start to lead the kids, otherwise, you're kind of stuck, waiting for them to be done with the kids, even if that's also when all the people come into the party room to eat. The front desk will not be allowed to help you, even though forks and plates are part of what they always provide and you confirmed it on the phone ahead of time.

They had a 20 kid limit so we always knew it wouldn't be crowded. The entire concept is great, we buy the five play pass at least once a month if not more. This might be coming to an end because of what happened this morning. My nanny kid has a fractured tibia, play street is a safe option for us because I don't have to worry about dozens of kids tripping over her. We arrived at 9 am after booking a spot online and seeing they had plenty of spots open. The employee who was super nice let me know that they had a large field trip arriving during our play time. The reason we chose and have chosen play street over places like the thinkery because we don't have to battle for space or field trip groups. They should block these time slots out and not have spaces open because this will put them way over their own capacity. I'm not against field trips having places to go to- this is on the franchise owners for trying to accommodate too many people at one time. There needs to be a better system, if there's going to be field trips- find a way to mark it on your schedule so we don't waste our time driving here.

Fast forward to last week and we had literally nothing to do so we reserved a play time spot for $15. My jaw DROPPED when I saw all the toys and different stations for the kids. It was PERFECT for my bored little guy. Every station gets cleaned between sessions and I loved it. Everything was organized and the place is just so beautiful. I do wish they offered memberships but at $15 for 2 hours, we aren't complaining. The staff are all incredibly wonderful, happy, smiling folks who are so kind to the kids. We're going today and even I'm excited to get the kiddo out to PSM on this rainy day.

For a total of $50 (for us and our girls) we did a little hayride, a tour of the farm (including feeding/petting/grooming of various animals: bunnies, goats, pigs, ponies, etc.) and each girl got to ride a pony. We had an option to do a cookout, but I didn't really budget the time for it. I'd say maybe we were there an hour and a half, though nothing was timed and no one was in a rush. We then stayed after and ate snacks on the (very) modest playground enjoying the weather. Miriam obviously does this every day, with the same stories, songs, and jokes, so I guess you can say its cheesy for adult, but the kids loved it. Not an experience my daughter will forget any time soon....of course, now I have to budget for a pony ;-) Another review mentioned Miriam's focus on rules/safety but I didn't really see this beyond the obvious (here's how you walk behind a horse...or don't put your hand in the pig pen cuz he's greedy AF and might nibble a finger or whatever). When I witnessed these call outs that did not come across as overly strict or aggressive, rather situationally appropriate. While I can't comment on birthday parties here, I do think a very small group would work best. This is Miriam's home and it's obvious she cares a lot about sharing her passion with the littles; that said, you are tromping around her home, and with her animal companions, I don't imagine the chaos of a ton of kids would be a good match.

Making the chairs produce some annoying, distant sound doesn't stop "squatters" because they don't know that they're the reason for the incessant beeping! The shrill beeps seem like they're coming from somewhere far away, so when I sat in one of the chairs, another customer (NOT even an employee) was forced to graciously inform me that, to make the beeping stop, I had to pay for a massage, or move away. I was mortified, as well as infuriated that Urban Air didn't bother to post signs with this basic information. From then on, for at least 50% of every trip to Urban Air, I've heard the stupid, continuous beeping. Each time I look over to find the culprit, I see the noise pollution is caused by oblivious parents scrolling away on their phones, as they luxuriate in the comfort of these ill-designed chairs. The chairs keep screeching their obnoxious and passive-aggressive rejection of "free rides" for patrons, meanwhile failing to inform them of desired course of action. God, it makes this place a living h*ll... 2) PROVIDE MORE OUTLETS for working and non-working parents alike, who need to charge devices. The location that my children force me to frequent provides ONE outlet, under a booth table. If you don't snag the booth, forget your charging needs! Listen: No one wants to sit for 2-3 hours with a dying device, unable to their check email. If you don't bring a fully charged device, you can expect it to die sometime during the visit. There should be outlets next to each seating area along the walls. The answer is insanely simple -- if you want parents who are willing to bring their kids to Urban Air, make the parents happy.

This is not a three star yelp establishment.

There were a lot of interactive exhibits that kids seemed to love. The museum spans a couple of stories, starting on the upper level, with plenty of colorful and immersive spaces that make for great Instagram photos. It's very hands-on, though, so if germs are a concern, this might not be the best pick. Parking was somewhat limited. There's a small one-level garage and some outdoor parking behind the building. The staff were friendly and welcoming, which I appreciated. Admission felt a bit pricey for what you get. It might have been worth it to me if I had children in my group.

They do have traction strips, just take large strides. The VR was my favorite thing, with the last part with the bubbles as second. Took me about 50 minutes to go through and again helped spend the day out of the house. I could see if you had kiddos this would be gunner.
