The phone customer service is fine... but just wait until you have to start doing bill pay. This is absolutely atrocious!! The first time I paid my bill, It bounced back and said that my checking information was wrong. So I ended up having to call the automated line and pay it over the phone and then they charge you for that! So I just got my second bill since I moved to Milwaukee. The site kept saying that my password was wrong and I know it was correct. So then I had to take the time to reset that. I finally get to login and remember the fiasco from last time with my checking account even though I know that my checking account information is correct. So I decide to try and pay by debit card, which of course conveniently they want to charge you for that as well!! I know my account number for my electric and I have put it in three times and they're still saying it's wrong and they cannot find my account. This is complete BS!!! I swear they have it fixed so they can charge you extra to pay no matter what. If I could go with a different electric company, I absolutely would. WE Energies never emailed, called or texted a notice of a residential gas meter problem that kept them from sending the monthly bill even when they had the electric meter readings on hand. And WE Energies advised us their contractor who was supposed to contact us regarding setting up a meter change never did. We Energies hundred of millions in profit and pays there ceo's outrageous sums. I lose power at least 10 to 15 times per year for multiple hours or sometimes even days. Our electric and gas costs are sky high and now they want to raise them even more to pay for upgrades to the system. They have a energy monopoly in the area and don't give a flying sh@t about there customers. $300 to $400 on most months and they can't even figure out how to keep the power on. I had to move my services to another home, when I called, the gentleman I spoke to (don't remember his name) was so helpful even through the snags, he was very calm as well which helped me to not get anxious. Then after moving I was not able to view my previous bill/account. I called again and spoke to another fantastic helpful person (Supervisor Cory). She went above and beyond to help me be able to view both my accounts, gave me a call back and everything. Preached for two weeks straight how we should all be ready for a winter storm, and then on Christmas Eve revealed they were not prepared for it and told all their residential customers they had to lower their thermostats to 60° or risk ruining the power grid. I can't believe how WE energies financial dept. operates! Autopay is determined and changed in the amount due to semi-annually. So if you don't remember to check in with them by the due date after six months you can be charged an extra $24.00 in arrears. Their billing is only a confirmed amount by going with paper and paying monthly, even though they offer an auto bill pay program, of which apparently the billing cycle ends 1 month prior to the bill being due, making it all the more confusing. If you want to pay in person, you don't go to them, you go to various other business' through town to pay. It's 2020 and you can't update how you handle your customers billing to make it user friendly? Seriously! read more

We lost power Friday July 29th, 2023 at 11pm due to the storm. The winds caused the neighbors tree for the 3rd time, to hit the transformer causing it to blow the fuse. I called their outage line and sat on hold for an hour and 38 minutes. When I finally talked to customer service I explained what happened and told her that they had just fixed the same issue on July 12, 2023. I told her that the technician that repaired the fuse did it in 20 minutes during a storm. She said they would get to us soon and said she made a note on the outage explaining exactly what the problem was so they could get it taken care of. We live in Trevor have well water which means no electric no water for showers, drinking or toilets. It is now Sunday July 30th and we lost 2 freezers and refrigerators of food we had to take every penny we could scrape together to get a generator once we finally found out that we would not be getting our service back on until Monday evening July 31st. We called WE Energies and asked if they were going to compensate us for the food spoiled and credit our bill they said no that's not their problem. I asked why they couldn't send just 1 guy to replace that fuse like before and she said they have 3 crews working they will get to us when they can. I'm sorry but Kenosha customers are on city water which means they at least have water usage they should have been last on the list the people that live in the county on well systems have no access to water unless we buy it at the store but it doesn't help to flush toilets or take showers. We can't afford a hotel room after buying the generator we have nothing left. I have my 3 grandsons and the youngest is 2 and asthmatic the heat Saturday sent him into coughing fits and when we explained the situation to the customer service lady at WE she said well I guess you'll have to the him to the ER if he needs help. We can't afford a hotel how are we supposed to afford a hospital bill too? Plus having to replace all the food we lost it took months to stock up. We Energies is sorry as hell and the government need to step in and deregulate the system to allow other electric companies in Wisconsin to offer lower prices and competition and knock WE Energies down a few pegs. Experienced three power outages in last three months. On two occasions almost 6 hours and once 1.5 hours. Most recently last night. Power went out at 8:20 got an automated call at 8:52 pm saying should be restored by 10:30 pm. Power came at 1:45ish am. Got an automated call saying reason for lost power is tree. It is frustrating to see an evident lack on WE Energies part to mitigate issue by pruning trees that pose to be a hazard. Once in a while this happens I get it. But seems like WE Energies has not protocol. How many times do I buy and throw out meat that is about $6 bucks a pound? Come on WE Energies WAKE UP if I could give you less than one star I would. When you pay over $300 for one utility bill you expect prudent resolution. Unfortunately for us we have a company like you to deal with :( read more

So here is the deal with these people they are so rich they forget some people are not as fortunate as they are. Also not everyone is the same all have different circumstances so stop treating people like we are all the same. Some folks during a pandemic-have it harder some have people with disabilities living in the house hold some may have already called spoke to your reps who put notes in the system and confirmed we would be ok and still cut us off. All I have to say is if I was rich enough to afford my own generator and fuel or sun panel I would completely cut you off. This company and their customer service is horrible. I recently canceled my service because we moved. We were only there for 8 days in may. Looking at my account I noticed I was charged 53 dollars for may and again 43 dollars for may also. I called asking about this and they told me the 43 was my "final bill". Both of the times I've called they were either rude or seemed to not know what they were talking about. I'm just wondering why I was charged 96 dollars for 8 days!??! This whole company is a scam and their prices are outrageous! Very upset that I am getting charged that much and was pretty much told that that sucks. read more

I paid my account on time and in full for the entire time I was a customer for several years. I then moved out of state and my forwarding address was not accurate and I did not recieve my final bill. No other attempts were made to contact me and my account was sent to collections for $37 which made my credit score drop 200 points. I have called with my concerns and they refuse to resolve this issue in a reasonable manner. I made payment in full once I became aware of the bill. I am disputing this through credit agencies and will file a lawsuit for inaccurate reporting. I can not pay a bill that I am unaware of! read more

Their new payment and billing system sucks and has incorrectly billed many people, so I have been told by WE Energies. I have been trying to deal with them for over a month and having a billed fixed, which is usually at 1 KWH and all of a sudden is at 99,998 KWH (the unit is vacant so it should be nowhere near that much). I have called many times to get this problem fixed and have been told something different each time. This will get fixed by the next bill, someone will have to come out to take a look at the meter and pay what the current charges are, no no-one has to come out to look at the meter and don't pay the current charges I will cancel the bills and it should take about 2 weeks to fix, 2 weeks later they are not fixed and I was told it could take another month to fix and to just pay the current charges. read more

We had our power go out in half our house (weird). Anyways we call and the guy who answered immediately referred our case to the dispatch center and a truck came to our house within 30 minutes. The power outage occurred at 11 pm so the quick response time was surprising but well appreciated. They had the problem fixed in 15 minutes and left. Amazing job by them! read more

I would give them a zero stars if I could. First, do not do the budget billing. They do not know how to budget the budget billing. My husband was with We Energies for 40 years and never missed or late on a payment. We moved and called to cancel our service and was told we owed over $900. We were told we owed due to the budget billing. I have worked with other fuel companies with budget billing and it is renewed every year and adjusted with a + or - depending on how accurately they estimated the fuel market and worked the difference in the knew annually budget billing. Apparently We Energies has either incompetent employees who do not know how to set up the budget for budget billing our they are some of the most evil dishonest individuals on the planet. We Energies renews the budget billing every 6 months. We were pleasantly surprised when are monthly billing went down for a while. So why reduce what we owe monthly if we owed in the rears over $900. We payed a down-payment and then we set up a payment arrangement in May. Never received a statement until June 28 stating we owed $550 due by July 20. We called to let them know we are on a payment plan. We were told we missed the June payment and they sent us to collections and their is nothing they can do now and we should contact the collection company. They will not provide us with a budget history tp prove we even owed anything. Stay away from them at all cost and if there is no other provider DO NOT DO THE BUDGET BILLING!!!!!!!! read more

I get a notice that my meter needs to be replaced. No problem right? They only have week days available, no evenings, can't promise time frames, and can only schedule months out. I've tried to work with them on several occasions, no help. No they threatened to shut off my gas mid winter if I don't take a day off work to sit around and wait for them. read more
