We used WBCS based on a referral from a good friend. We also met with a few of their recent clients and they gave us good reviews as well. We spent several months planning out our remodel which was very expensive. We brought in Howard and team to do the core of the work and spent over $200K with them. Once the project began the problems with WBCS started. It was Howard who ended up measuring several parts of our new cabinetry wrong. We spent over $80K on cabinets and he ended up measuring wrong in 5 different places which caused all kinds of problems including having to go back and re-order some cabinets that had already taken months to arrive. We had several sleepless nights worrying about all the issues that were caused by their carelessness. Then the problems with Howards measurements continued with the 6 slabs we had picked out and paid for. Turned out he again made bad measurements and we had to buy yet another slab mid project to fix it. Sloppy at best. Then his chosen subcontractor cut the slabs wrong and again we lost sleep over this. WBCS has no system to quality control themselves or their chosen subcontractors. Their countertop/slab subcontractor was horrible. They scratched up our slabs and cut them the wrong sizes. It took several trips for them to come back and correct all the problems. Then their Tile subcontractor, Mike Cook Tile, also made all kinds of sloppy mistakes with our tile work. In several places they came back to fix the problems but could not. Things like excess grout not being wiped off when it was wet and then needing other chemicals to remove it once it dried, tiles being uneven/not level, and they also left actual black sharpie marks on the tile they put in. When they came back to try and get the black sharpie off, they could not. In the end, we had to bring in an outside tile repair service to fix the problems caused by Mike Cook tile. And all along, Howard and Brian of WBCS were defending Mike Cook's work instead of giving good customer service and making it right. WBCS Motto should be 'is this good enough?' because the are really only interested in doing the bare minimum to get paid. Bring up any issues with the poor quality of their workmanship and they get very defensive. Even when they see the problem themselves. This project was a huge remodel. We moved out of our house for 4 months and let WBCS and their subs have an empty house to work on while my wife and I were literally here on site every day, all day, to work with them to get the project completed as fast as possible. They are unorganized, sloppy, have no systems for quality control and many times the house was simply in a state of chaos during the project. The good reviews they have here are faulty in that they were small projects and/or the people who wrote the reviews have no attention to detail and were duped by these guys who do appear very nice and friendly most of the time. The very last day of our project, when it was time to give them the final check, I had a list of items that still needed to be addressed and these guys just threw their hands up in the air and walked out making various physical threats and calling me very rude names. Extremely unprofessional and childish. I had paid them over $200K already and my list added up to about $1,800 of work that needed to be re-done. They just walked out and left this hanging. Now I have to bring in brand new outside vendors to fix these issues so we can finish the project and move on. Lastly, beware of these guys because for 4 months working with them on a daily basis, all they did was complain about all their money problems which made me very nervous. When they left our job, they had no other work lined up and were telling me that they needed money to eat and they were living on credit cards. Beware of giving them any large deposits!! read more
