WYPR is the local NPR affiliate station, and it is good for news and traffic in the morning. The…read moreweekly broadcasts have a smattering of interesting tidbits here and there (Baltimore Stories, science corner, wine talk, etc.) but mostly it is devoted to daytime broadcasts of boring talk shows. So during the week it is mostly a place to switch over to hoping they're talking about something interesting while waiting for a good song to come on one of your other favorite stations. The weekend is where it really comes alive with nationally syndicated NPR shows like Wait Wait Don't Tell Me, Prairie Home Companion, The Splendid Table, This American Life and others. That's the stuff that makes long car rides running errands bearable.

Spencer has fabulous taste in music! In fact, your whole staff is terrific! THANK YOU. My only comment on the weekday early morning show where Ashley is the host, I really enjoy him except when he puts on the "Background" music so loud that it practically drowns out his announcements. Maybe it is just me. I prefer to hear only the music or only the announcement...OR turn down the background music during the announcement! Otherwise, your station is the very best! Thanks again, Pat F.

Beyond that it's an AM news station with a heavy right-wing slant and chock full of ads. If you time it right you can get your news report and get out, otherwise you're going to be trapped amid ad after ad after ad.

I tell all my friends, especially when issues of the day arise to tune into 'BAL! So after a few words of praise-and understand they do want Baltimore to be a successful city again - so report the deficiencies so that we can FIND SOLUTIONS! 'BAL's claim sadly that says they are the outlet for local citizens to express points of view are false when they DON'T ALLOW callers to call in! I've always been respectful - no personal attacks only critical if bad decision makers- or critical of my local team cause I want them to succeed! So your Radio Office staff says it's ok for me to talk - I've written them! But your radio team never allows my call ins to go through! My friends are now saying - 'we miss you 'Nick -in Bel Air! Be brave radio team producers - accept my calls! Nick - Bel Air
