Super awesome brewery in Sydney! The staff were so friendly, the beer selection was amazing and the food was incredible! They offer gluten free options, as well. We ordered the gluten free cauliflower and chicken strips which were to die for - the chicken strips were all white meat and a hefty portion! They have tons of seating inside and outside! Wayward was one of many brewery stops during our visit to Australia and it checks all the boxes... - Tasty beer - Awesome atmosphere - Friendly and entertaining staff - Dogs are welcome We arrived just as they were opening for the day so we got to explore the space and get a chance to talk to the staff as well as the owner. This is a place to go and have fun, it's not just about the beer. They have a very good mix of beer. They had their own as well as some guest taps. You should be able to find something tasty, which you can't always do at some breweries. My favorite here was the Coffee and Donuts Milk Stout. Well worth the stop. read more

If you're traveling through Australia and you've been underwhelmed by some "craft" beers that are kind of mediocre, walk down the alley to this place and enjoy a great selection of their own taps and other worthy candidates, because there's something for everyone here. Interesting sours, stouts, IPAs, a real craft cider, etc. One caveat - the all the beers I tried today were not overly carbonated compared to the same beers in bottles tried at other places in Sydney. Get a flight of six varieties for a good price, have a seat in the interesting bar area and enjoy the good stuff. There's onsite brewery tours too, and plenty of good seating. The service was friendly, knowledgeable and efficient and they're quick to offer a sample of anything you're interested in. We are looking forward to coming back. read more

We were lucky enough to hear this place was having its soft launch and get in on its second day of opening. If you're around while it's open, or just in search of a good beer, get yourself here. I'd tried the Wayward brews elsewhere, and was already a big fan (the quality of their beers alone is enough for a 5-star rating), but the space they've managed to set-up is almost as good as their beers! The space is large with plenty of tables that make it great for groups. There's even a couple of back rooms made from old wine vats - you can see the wax-covered stained walls. Apparently the old Enfield on the wall still works! You can't buy take-away beers yet, but I know it's planned (growlers and bottles). They had Mama Linh's food truck out the front for eats. I'm not sure how long that setup will be around, but it looked good. read more

Really love this brewery bar in Camperdown. Not being from Sydney I hadn't been here before but it is so worth the Uber fare ($19 from The Rocks) from the CBD. Beers are fantastic, there's free popcorn, and it's a great space. Cosy and industrial at the same time some how. Their West coast Double IPA is so good (but a strong 8%) that I had to write this review the following day! The saison was a big hit with the wife. The only negative thing I can say about the place is that on the day we visited (a Sunday) the 'music' that the singer / guitar player was dishing out was truly dreadful. About half way through a song I'd say 'oh, I think this is meant to be Seven Nation Army'. Conclusion: come for the beer, endure the 'entertainment'. Not open during the week so head over for a Sunday session. Highly recommended if you like your craft beer. read more

Whilst nestled in a quiet, unassuming corner out of the way, this place filled up quickly, which is testament to the establishment and it's evident popularity. Bar staff are friendly and unpretentious, donning silly hats and bantering with customers. The place welcomes dogs, which just adds to the friendly community environment. The atmosphere quickly spilled out into the sunny driveway as food was served next door and an art exhibit finished upstairs. This place is my new favourite in Sydney, I hope it becomes yours too (if it isn't already). read more

This is a place designed for hipsters of the inner-west. The place is filled with Dangling beer-keg lanterns, Atari arcade machines, Luggage and antique funky seats from a bygone era. The place is not easy to find as its in an alleyway on a side street of a nondescript industrial block. My advice is just follow the crowd! Just see where all the cars are parked. The music is pretty funky and they have a rotating repertoire of food trucks stationed outside. It gets pretty warm and loud inside with all the people but the beer is always ice cold (they taste pretty good too!) read more

A really unique space. They've knocked walls in large wine vats at the rear to make extra seating, have some great beers on tap and a brewery out the back. Popcorn on ordering and food trucks out the front on a semi regular basis. Friendly service and even little things like sessions of yoga make it worth returning to. read more

Went to Saturday brewery tour with my daughter, but an error occurred with booking so it was not on. This was a Xmas gift from my daughter who departs Australia on Wed, so no options to re-book. Dee took the time to help and provided an excellent viewing of the brewery, talking with the master brewer, and close up viewing of the canning process. Finished off with an excellent tasting paddle, detailed explanation of the beers, and a few mementos to take home. This is what excellent services looks like - and I will be back to sample more of their fares in quite a unique atmosphere. Gave this place a try on Friday night expecting big things. While it definitely tick all the boxes i.e back ally brewery/warehouse, plenty of space, warm lighting, variety of seating arrangements, Deus-esq moterbike on the wall, tabletop spacies, dog and child friendly (if that is your thing), black hipster beer tees for sale, some external crew cooking up expensive burgers out the front, and of course a large variety of craft beers, I couldn't help but feel this was more a novelty stop and not a new regular. Perhaps it was because I wasn't local, although my mate was within walking distance or perhaps it was that it was a brewery first, dipping its toe in the Cellar Bar water with limited opening hours. Don't get me wrong, you should try this place, sample the fine range of beer they brew (some extremely good, some bad, some average), take advantage of the free popcorn, and enjoy the campers vibe. But we popped down to the Flodge straight after and it was jumping (but not overpacked), huge range of food offered from cheap and delicious, to gourmet and delicious, DJ playing tunes (even vinyl), large range of craft beers and everything else. Bottom line, get down there and check it out, but then go home, do not drive 4 minutes drive away to the Forest Lodge Hotel. read more

The place is not easy to find but it worth it. The atmosphere from the corner is already great. I think it's a great place to meet up with friends and have fun in the company of the lovely taste of a craft beer. Nice looking place and good range of beers. On the night I was there the beer wasn't as cold as in the other places around Sydney. Also, there's no area where you can smoke and have a beer at the same time. You need to leave your beer inside and walk to the other side of the laneway to have a cigarette. Plus they don't serve food and the little kombi outside had some sad looking snags in it. Definitely check it out but then go down the road to Glebe for the rest of the night. read more
