This is the first place I've been where they only give you one piece of bread for toast and a 1/2 cup of breakfast gravy that costs $3. Recently visited Wayne's on a Saturday morning. Not too busy and was quickly seated. Lots of breakfast options on the menu, and I went with the corned beef hash. There are two options, homemade or canned. Of course, I went with the homemade not really knowing that that meant. The hash was cubes of corned beef, cabbage, and red peppers. The meat was done right and not very fatty. Eggs were over easy, which mixed in well with the hash browns. You can choose pancakes or toast and went with rye. No choices on jelly and it came with strawberry which I don't like. Considering that would have liked more butter. read more

This is a small cafe yet the 2 times we've been there, we haven't had a wait. I think it was luck. Their menu has good variety, the service was good, everyone was friendly and most importantly, the food was good. My fried chicken was a little over fried but still tasty. I love that they offer fried chicken! I figured this was more of a breakfast joint but this is an example of that good variety. The worst food and service I have had in a long time. Took my oldest son's family to lunch last Saturday. ALL OF OUR MEALS were TERRIBLE. If your looking for a classic all American restaurant and are in the town of Stanwood, Wayne's Corner is the place to go. The wife and I decided to give this place a shot since they had 4 stars and came highly recommend by a good friend. We walked in and boom, there was the front counter and cooks window. Very up close and personal. We were promptly greeted and was sat at a very nice table. The place is not huge, but plenty of room. The place is clean and both the wife and I enjoyed the little sign on every table stating a meal grace. We also appreciated the little bottle of sanitizer on each table. Now on to the food. If you've read my Yelp reviews in the past, you'll know that I judge a restaurant by the Eggs Benedict. Both the wife and I ordered the Eggs Benedict. Absolutely delicious! We received our meal in under 10 minutes and it was beautiful. Plenty of hollandaise and ham. The eggs were cook perfectly. Hash browns were a nice golden brown and not too much or too little. The staff and owner have a great thing going here. We can't wait to hit this place up for lunch. Apparently the fish n chips is pretty good coming from a neighboring business recommendation. We were drawn to Stanwood to hunt for glass balls, a local winter ritual we only learned about this year. While we came up empty in our treasure hunt, we did find a darn good meal here. Any place serving breakfast all day is a winner in my world, although I must say that the rest of the menu looked awfully good too. I went with the spinach omelet which was super good with lots of chopped bacon inside and Swiss cheese on top. I would have preferred to have the cheese inside as well but the taste was the same. Hash browns were excellent too. My wife had the special breakfast, which included two huge fluffy pancakes, an egg and bacon. Also very good. The second time I have gone to Wayne's after they have open for dinner: I ordered the pollo en chimichuri ( I had never heard or tasted it) Oscar the waiter explained it to me and answered any questions I had about it. I found it to be a excellent dish, it came with rice and beans. Oscar was very attentive to our. Needs refreshed our drinks a few times and making sure we had a ice meal. We have been here twice and there seems to be a few things that are consistent. First, and most importantly, the service here is garbage. The restaurant is small and there seems to be plenty of staff available (about four servers at the last visit), but they will ignore you unless you are paying the bill, then they are your best friend. Last time we were there we stood at the host stand for ten minutes while all four servers passed us and didn't acknowledge that we were waiting or even there. Not even to say they will be right with us. Servers would go up to the counter to process a payment, look at us then walk back to a table just to do it again a minute or two later. If you ever get sat then the service will bill frosty and hurried. Hope you don't like too many refills on your coffee. But at least at the end you'll get a smile and a bit of banter as if it makes up for it. read more

My first impression was "this place looks inviting"! My wife and I went in expecting a typical breakfast at a typical restaurant. It was clean and relatively quiet. Not a lot of people. We both ordered breakfast and although pricey we realize most place are anymore and will likely never lower their prices when they can. Our food came and we were shocked at the quantity of food on the plate. We thought they made a mistake and they were kid's meals! Now we don't necessarily need or eat a lot but value for your money is important to us but raising the prices way more than you need to then giving you tiny portions is unacceptable. If this review was solely based on customer service, I'd give it one star. Cool little cafe with great food. Unfortunately, the waitress was not warm in the least bit. Our family was seated as if we were a burden. I said thank you when we received our orange juice, waters, refills, and food. Not once did she say "your welcome", but did so to the regulars. A large group of college kids came in and received the same treatment, so I knew it wasn't just our family. When we received our food, we received the bill. My guess would be it's because they wanted us out of there before we even arrived. I will not be returning , and that's unfortunate, as the food is good and I'm a local. read more

We still enjoy this quaint and friendly place. They are very toddler friendly, attentive to the needs of their patrons, and have a variety of creamers. There are no more cinnamon rolls. However, the rest of the food is delicious, served quickly, yet in a relaxed manner. My Joe's Special and hash browns were cooked to perfection. The pancakes were good also. The coffee is good and hot with plenty of flavored creamers. The occasional train is an added bonus for the kids! read more

The toast was good, but that's about it. Gravy was cold, eggs undercooked, even after sending them back. Watched a couple that was seated after us get their food first. Breakfast was brought to the table with just meat and eggs for one of the meals, we were told that the hashbrowns were not done yet. The table behind us were having problems too. I used to love Wayne's but today I'm disappointed to say the least. I walked in, waited. Patiently. Opened the door for two elders, they waited patiently. Then another man gets up from his table and literally puts his carry out in front of me, with his card on top. Magically someone FINALLY attends the front counter aka guess what?! Attends to him first! Not me who was there waiting, not the elders I assisted in helping. So I walked out. This is literally the second time this week I've encountered this at a diner. read more

This is a nice little cafe, it has a friendly vibe where people get together in the morning and socialize over coffee.It's a small and fairly low key place to get a nice breakfast. I've been twice now and although I've heard a lot of raves about the Eggs Benedict, it didn't particularly stand out too me. It is good by all means. The thing I enjoyed most is the pancakes! They are Delicious! All in all it is a good breakfast spot with complimentary service. Large portions. Checks all the boxes for a good place to grab some food on your way out of town or just a lazy morning. Would recommend it and looking forward to trying more of the menu in the future. read more

I went here with my parents and I really liked the food, but the experience was really spoiled due to the waitresses who are, unfriendly, Rude, no smiles, no how is everything, no may I get you a refill, not a friendly hello, I'm not kidding, eyes looking down when we paid our bill. A 3.5 star rating for this establishment is fair; better than A-Ok, but not Great. The vegetable omelette that I ordered was large and fresh. However, it lacked an ingredient, sauce, and/or spice that would make it stand apart from any other eatery omelette. The hashbrowns were by far my favorite part of he dish, but we were sadly informed that they weren't made from scratch. Stowpid Cisco. The service was both prompt and friendly. The staff gave off a genuinely welcoming vibe which is nice and, unfortunately, pretty unusual where I come from. The decor was homey, quaint, and simple.
