Told it would cost $150.00 for a consult, but when we met, we were provided no information, felt very transparent to the employ and after 15 minutes with no actual analysis, recommendations or information we were dismissed. As we departed the receptionist requested our $150.00. We regret the appoint, but more importantly we regret we actually paid. Service requested- not met. I've been filing my taxes with them for three years, and every year the price keeps going up--not the price they originally quoted me. Last year, they told me their tax software had an error, which led to mistakes in my return. This year, they failed to report part of my income, and because of their mistake, my return had to be revised twice. Right before the tax deadline, they told me to apply for an extension and said they would review everything later. But now I can't get in touch with them at all. They say they won't make any more changes to the return. So what--I'm just supposed to submit a return with errors? They don't seem to take responsibility for their mistakes at all. I called a couple of CPA services to do my taxes near me to get an estimate of how much it would be. It is hard for me to physically travel. One service said they could accept an email with my past tax return to give me a detailed and accurate estimate of how much it would cost in a day or so with out any cost. This was not the case with Wayne Rivers. They do not accept any emailed information. With difficulty I went in person and presented a thumb drive with my information. I was given a quick rough estimate and it was inferred that if I wanted a more accurate one, if should make an appointment. I could not just leave the thumb drive copy there. I had Wayne Rivers do my taxes for 2022. In the cover letter included with my completed taxes, there was the statement "if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to call". Well, I called last week with a question. The receptionist, "Tiffany", told me that asking a question of Mr. Rivers would be considered a "consult" and that I would NOT receive a return telephone call. I have been with Wayne a couple of years now and would not recommend him at this point. I was able to meet with one of his accountants when getting my taxes done. then I heard nothing from them for over a month and a half. when I reached out to see where they were at I received only emails "it's being reviewed". it was rejected by the IRS because I took deductions for being self employed and an s corp, single income. so my taxes owed increased $12k. I am not wealthy by any means so I asked several times to meet with them. No response, they just emailed me several times to sign it. I just wanted to review my taxes with them before signing them. But I guess they were cutting corners to file my taxes in time because they took so long in the first place. they probably would have forgotten to do my taxes at all if I hadn't reminded them. I paid to have them done so I guess that was the main thing they cared about. I would not recommend them because this not the only time they have not emailed me, responded or met with me. I did get a short email from Wayne saying "you made too much". Thank you, that doesnt help whatsoever. read more
