Any time I'm in New Jersey I make sure to stop at a Wawa. This location was pretty solid. I stopped and got gas first which was a breeze, then easily found a parking spot and headed in to use their restroom and place an order. The restroom was relatively clean and the store was decently stocked except for the pre-prepared hot foods. I was really hoping for one of those jalapeño cream cheese pretzels, but decided to get some Mac and cheese and a snack wrap once I realized they were out. The Mac and cheese came out fast but the snack wrap was a bit of a wait - lots of mobile orders went out before mine. Still, not a bad Wawa especially considering its convenient location right off the highway. read more

This location is conveniently located next to Walmart so I like to stop in for a slushy or coffee. I love the pretzels as well. They are always fresh and hot. I was told about a frozen coffee with cinnamon so I tried it. It was absolutely horrible. Seems like the cinnamon had an after taste that didn't sit well with me. It was fine. I've never been to a Wawa. I wonder what it means or what it stands for? Is it ancronym? Anyway I wanted to get a fountain drink but due to coronavirus or covid19 those features were suspended. I ended buying to deerpark waters that were 2 for $2.50 plus tax. It was a good buy. They were pretty big. I'll post a picture later. The store was pretty well stocked and seemed clean. I was confused with the lines and registers. They had circles all over telling you where to stand. I could not tell which register they led to. But my experience wasn't bad. I bought a pretzel at the register. A jalepeno and cheese soft pretzel. I didn't enjoy it and it certainly didn't taste like jalepeno nor was it spicy. I ate it anyway because I was hungry. I'd didn't even curb my hunger a little. If anything I had just added a bunch of unnecessary carbs and calories, which bloated me and made my stomach and back hurt, uhhhh. Kind of in a weird spot, but definitely worth stopping here for some cheap gas if you are traveling on the east most part of 280. To get here, take the last exit on 280 before the Turnpike (which is for Kearny I believe). If you are going to Jersey City after, just make a right turn into Route 7 when you exit the station; if you are traveling to Harrison or Newark you will want to make a left. Anyways, the gas here is usually pretty cheap. I've sometimes found cheaper gas in places, but they are reliable and charge the same for cash and credit. As with all Wawa locations, they have an extensive selection of food, drinks, snacks, and what not inside. Tons of pumps so you will generally not wait long as well. A traditional WAWA in all its glory, edging its way up ever closer to the coast. Next stop, Weehawken? I hope you are reading this, Mr. & Mrs. Wawa. I can't say I would ever "accidentally" drive by this particular location - I was driving on 280E and actively sought out a touchscreen sandwich experience for this particular visit. It's not all alone - there are some other stores nearby (hey Walmart), and judging by the map, it is pretty close to the up and coming Harrison area. It's got all the goodies you've come to expect, plus cheap gas. My sandwich was as good as they always are, and I came at such a lull in the day I actually had two employees creating sandwich art for me. Lettuce from one, tomato from the other, onions from both...I appreciated it. Anywho - if you find yourself on 280, know this is just a short mile or so off 17A or B. However, I must warn you - there are holes in the ground spanning the length of the entrance that are approaching Grand Canyon status, so drive with caution - for the sake of your car, your tires, your rims, and your impending sandwich. read more

I went to the store at 6:30 PM to my my favorite coffee dark roast, but the guy that works there making coffee said that it was too late to do that. I requested to talk with the manager of the store. I had to wait more than 10 minutes because the manager was eating inside his office. Then, a guy that it was not the manager, came out of the office. He said, that it was late to make more coffee, but he will do that for this time. Then, he went to talk with another coworkers. At the end, the guy who at first don't want to make the coffee, make me wait for 15 minutes for the coffee. He saw me standing wait for the coffee, but did not want to do his job. Wawa is a great place to fuel up and grab snacks. This location is conveniently located by route 80 and right next to a Walmart! They have excellent customer service and always make my order fresh and accurately. The shelves are always stocked and the store is pretty clean (including the bathrooms)! Love this Wawa! Good coffee, good gas prices, good snacks and they make hot sandwiches. 5/6am they start making fresh sandwiches. The inside is small and get the job done, but the outside is huge and has tons of gas pumps. Another perk is cash and credit are the same price. Beware though, if you visit during off hours certain things inside aren't available. This is mainly the reason I didn't give 5 stars. We will continue to stop in prior to any NJTP road trips. How I love Wawa. Let me count the ways. I'm not from this area originally so Wawa was a foreign concept to me. I attended Rutgers University (there is a Wawa not too far) and fell in love. The gas was always the lowest, the service was good, and Wawa products. Well, how I love Wawa products. When I spotted a Wawa opening down the street from where I work I swooned. I stopped in today in dire need of air for my tires. I found the free air tank immediately with 3 parking spots that had access to it. There is nothing worse then having to wait for another person to finish and pull out of the spot. I couldn't leave Wawa without stopping inside. Boy was I thrilled. Service was fast, the place was spotless, everyone working there was welcoming, attentive, and helpful. It was great to see the Assistant Manager interacting with guests and helping stock items. It really shows what a team the employees are. My tuna sandwich was hot, the macaroni and cheese was creamy, and they were well stocked with silverware, to-go condiments, all at an easy access area. First! (dah) So we don't really have Wawa's round these parts and anything new and shiny I just have to check out. They've been open for less than a week and what got me through the door this fast, besides the new car smell, was the free coffee (free until January 20th)! That's right, free coffee! Any size, any time of day! I have to say, the coffee station was pretty big with about 4 sides to walk up to with your cup of coffee and finish it off as you like. Plenty of creamers and milks and sugar packets to choose from (although I wish they offered raw sugar) and the station was clean and organized and accessible. Coffee in hand I decided to have a walk through the store since I'm not used to Wawa's. Great selection of lunch sandwiches, wraps and salads to go. Little containers of sides perfectly sized for lunch. Large glass cabinet full of donuts and muffins and pastries (I grabbed a banana nut muffin) and at the check out there were more hot breakfast options to choose from. I'll be back for more free coffee and to fuel up on some gas as well (this morning it was $3.27). read more

You really can't go wrong with a Wawa. Especially since this is one of the few in this area (only two I am aware of). Always clean - especially for a gas station convenience store. Great selection of items, coffees, sandwiches and snacks. This location is right near a Walmart and strip mall. They have an ATM, sell lottery tickets, bathrooms, a deli, big coffee selection, and more snacks than most convenience stores. I sometimes go out of my way to come here. Gotta love Wawa. read more

Ordered my sandwich through the wawa app and a coffee. The person making the sandwich she had an attitude and tired to give only one sandwich when I ordered 2. Apparently I had to make the coffee when I walked in which I didn't know (the wawa in maplewood isn't like that they make the coffee). I made a second order after I walked in, meatball sub completely toasted. It wasn't toasted at all I would've been better off going somewhere else to order if the lady didn't have such an attitude and it wasn't busy at all it was lunch time but the store wasn't crowded. This store is a disgraceful mess. They haven't gotten things right yet. If your ordering food the app and in store menu shore different items. Even after I notified managers and emailed corporate they have yet to fix it. They must either hire incompetent people or treat them like crap because their turnover rate is astonishing. This morning I ordered and paid from the app after waiting 20 minutes for my item I asked for a refund. Told the cashier my number and of course she couldn't find it. Went out to my car got my phone showed her it was order that I said, at that point she had to go get a plu to refund my money. And to think this was a supervisor. Gas attendants are always friendly, polite and quick! In the convenience store, the cashiers are also friendly and quick. The people making your food are just as quick and not once have they messed up my order even when I've gone during their busy lunch period. Parking is never an issue. I drove all over the finer parts of Newark (note the sarcasm), to try and find this place. Needless to say, Google Maps and MapQuest were not helpful at all. After driving through some miserable traffic, due to that time of morning, construction and a busted fire hydrant flowing into the street, I finally found it. I'd only been to one other Wawa in Fort Lauderdale and it was good. I'd been to store in Western Pennsylvania called "Sheetz", which is very similar, but I think their employees are nicer and their food is slightly better. However, I would kill for either in Las Vegas. I don't know why more convenience stores don't do this, with the amazing food/deli menu and the variety of items they have. I got a great roast beef hoagie and some chips. Their coffee bar does beat everyone else's hands down. They have an incredible variety of coffees and creams. The food and service was good, but as I said the employees are not super friendly. And their menu is not very descriptive as to what all is on the hoagies. I had to ask what was on the Italian Hoagie and even the people making the sandwich seemed to have a hard time figuring out what all meats that were on it. Also, the Fort Lauderdale location had some incredible hot pretzels and I could not find any at this location. It was good, but given the trouble I went through to find it, I would not go through that again. The frustrating thing later, i found one much easier on my way to Ramsey. Oh well. read more

There are few times where i would get excited for a cookie cutter convenience store to open in my area. And this is one of them! First and foremost because of their subs! Can't go wrong with a turkey, italian or roast beef shortie! They also give pickles on the side which is a win! When i was in college at Rutgers (GO KNIGHTS!) these were everywhere!! 24 hour convenience of everthing you could need. And they keep the cleanliness of these chains to a certain standard meaning that you know their food is fresh and updated. This location has a gas station and the prices are the same whether cash or credit. Some of the best prices around. ATM inside is a PNC Bank which means no fees (for most people bank with other companies) Need to run to the restroom also? Yup! They got those here as well. And if you need to do some major shopping, there's a 24 hour Walmart right next door. WINNING AGAIN!! read more

Wawa is to subs what Papa Johns is to pizza: It's acceptable if you have no other options. The quality of the meats and cheeses are not terrible, but they are not great either. Plus, they are made on crappy soft bread which probably arrives at the store frozen and is "baked" in the store. 3 stars for the convenience--it's 24-hours, has an amazing selection of fountain drinks, and a gas station attached....but the subs are pretty sub-par. No pun intended. Even Quick Chek has better subs and that ain't saying much. For a good sub, Harrison has a few real delis where they get the bread delivered daily from a bakery and slice the meat and cheese when you order the sub as opposed to having it lay out all day. But you already know this. Bottom Line: If it's 11:30, ya need gas, and maybe you're a little stoned....go for it. Just buy a 60 ounce fountain coke cuz these suckers are massively salty. read more

Having lived a portion of my life in Central-South Jersey, I practically grew up on Wawa. Since starting my adult life working and living in NYC, going to a Wawa only happens when you drive down south and make a stop on the way there. So when Wawa opened here (i believe) 1/11/13, I made it a point to be there on the opening day. Since then, I have stopped by a total of 5 times (it's only been open a little over a week). Starting off, I consider myself an experienced veteran customer of Wawa, so I believe I know most of their products. People are wondering, what makes Wawa different than most convenience stores? Well, one, they have a cult following. No seriously! But that's not just it, the real answer is everything! Their menu changes often and they provide a large menu of sandwiches, soups, breakfast, coffee, oh and did I say sandwiches? I believe this is their (pardon my pun) their bread and butter. Wawa subs are what puts this place over the top. While they are not a Jersey Mike's or any other subs/hoagie place, they sure come close. I think their bread is better than Quickcheck's and they are one of the first (probably the first) store of its kind to install touch screen ordering displays. They make their own milk, iced tea (which is a bargain), bread and while I'm not a coffee expert, I know some people who consider it very good. OK, so about this location... so far, staff is very friendly, gas prices are competitive, service is quick and since it's the first location in North Jersey, people from all over the area come by. Oh and the place is huge! One of the largest locations of its kind. So bravo Wawa, thanks for coming to North Jersey. By the way, you still make Egg Nog during the holidays? I have been hesitant to visit this Wawa after years of only seeing them south of Exit 10 of the New Jersey Turnpike. However, I finally made it here as a convenient stop while running errands. The food is on par with the location I frequent near my parents' residence in South Brunswick. While they did not skimp on toppings, my 10-inch chicken cheesesteak unfortunately lacked the pepper jack cheese that I requested. In any case, what bothered me in particular was the nonchalant attitude of the cashier at the front end. She really seemed like she did not want to be there; her attitude contrasted sharply with my experiences at other Wawa stores. The cashier also did not bother asking me whether I wanted a receipt, and I didn't realize she didn't give me one until I received my food. Given that it's the only one of its kind in the immediate area, I would give this establishment a shot if you happen to be in the area. read more

The announcement of a local Wawa in town made me very happy. After a heavily anticipated wait, they finally opened in late January 2013, but this is not the best Wawa location I have been to. Their store is clean and they're well-stocked with the Wawa essentials, but it isn't very spacious and the layout of the store doesn't optimize flow of people when it gets busy. The register is far off in the corner of the restaurant, food & drinks are scattered along the back wall. I do love coming here for their gas though (24/7 pumps going all day every day). I swear Wawa-brand gas just gets your car running further. I used to have to fill up 2x a week to get me where I needed to go in a week - I only need to do that once when I fill up w/ Wawa's gas. read more
