There are numerous amateur car washes that have popped up everywhere, which is great for us motorists because it means the prices are always competitive. Brilliant hand car wash is only £2.50 for a thorough clean of your car. They jet wash it all over first to soften tough dirt, spray a special spray on the tyres and then scrub it all over by hand before washing it down. I usually stand and observe them cleaning, which tends to ensure they do a good job! It can get busy but they have a large forecourt so there's plenty of space to park and wait.

They also have 3 parking spots if you just need to pick up a coffee, newspaper, sandwich or whatever. I use them primarily for the excellent hand car wash and valet - quick, thorough and professional for a very reasonable price. Since I have a (by Brit standards) big SUV I have to pay the higher price but for a complete hand wash and dry, cleaning and vacuuming inside the prices is £15 - really not bad. Two thumbs up!

From what I've seen they always do a very good service, they are fast and the prices seem pretty reasonable ranging from £3 for a basic wash to £40 for a full valet. Once my band had a gig in a rented van. when we came back from the show we had one seriously dirty van and we had 30 minutes to deliver it back to the rental place. The guys at The Wash were able to get it spick and span on time and save our butts.

It's always so much nicer having someone else clean your car than track back and forth with buckets or cover yourself with the hosepipe, rather than the car. The other bonus for these guys is their location. Next to a lovely newsagent and cafe and relatively quiet as you need to know about these guys, rather than passing them on your usual journey.
