From start to finish, everything was organized to perfection. Weeks before the session, we received an incredibly thoughtful email with every detail we need--outfit suggestions, what to expect, and even questions about what our boys love so they could personalize the experience. That level of care and communication already set them apart. On the day of the shoot, everything was seamless. We were warmly greeted by Sophie, who is truly one of the most wonderful photographers we've ever worked with. She immediately helped us settle in and made the boys feel comfortable from the first moment. They had a little setup for the kids with small toys, treats, and water--simple touches that made a huge difference. The session lasted about 30 minutes, and we were amazed by how many beautiful photos we received. Even more surprising was how much our boys enjoyed the experience; they jumped right in with ideas for poses and stayed fully engaged the whole time. Sophie responds very quickly to questions via phone and email from before booking to session prep to post shoot follow up. Anabella, our photographer, was incredible. I was heartbroken -- not just because I missed the chance to document my pregnancy, but because everything felt so overwhelming at the time. A year later, I reached back out to book a baby session -- and it turned out to be even more special. In the sea of bright and overexposed wedding photos, there was something that stood out. The photos I saw had this retro style, had wonderful contrast and I found there was always warmth in their subjects. There is actual depth to their portraits and these ladies are able to capture the nuances of every emotion that occurs on your special day. Take a look at their IG/Yelp review photos and you'll see that they look like Renaissance portraits set in the streets of Brooklyn. When my husband and I met up with Jessica, she made us both feel at ease, as we've never had our photos taken professionally together before. The tips she gave us made us feel more comfortable and made the photographs turn out phenomenal! I love each and everyone of our photos from our engagement/wedding, but my favorites are definitely the candid ones. If you're looking to stay on a budget for your wedding, take my advice and do not skimp on the photographer. Thirty years from now, when you are looking back at your wedding photos, I HIGHLY doubt you're going to regret the money you spent on your priceless wedding photos. My mom has literally blown up our engagement photos into large canvases to put around her home and I have no doubt she'll do the same with our wedding photos. MY ORIGINAL PHOTOGRAPHER CANCELED ON ME AT 10:30AM THE MORNING OF MY WEDDING. Andrea came to the rescue and I ended up with higher quality photos than I would have with the original photographer!! When I got the news, my family and I were scrambling. Everywhere we tried to find a photographer with such short notice was leading to a dead end. You can imagine that it was really starting to put quite the damper on my wedding day. But 30 minutes later, I'm signing a new contract with Andrea, on what was CLEARLY her day off. She swooped in with the upmost grace and professionalism. It was pouring rain and 90 degrees outside but she LITERALLY SAVED THE DAY anyway. Andrea could have taken advantage of this situation. She knew I was in a bind and that she was my only hope. Many people in this industry would have taken that opportunity, but not Andrea. Rather than surcharging me, which I was willing to accept, she kept us in our budget. Heaven sent. The quality of the photos speaks for itself, but beyond that -- Andrea KNEW what she was doing. To the point that I was actually grateful that my original photographer didn't work out. She showed up early, got the shot with my makeup artist just before she left, and worked so seamlessly with my videographer despite having JUST MET HIM that it was practically like they were in business together. I've seen some shots she got just from the preview pics and it's incredible how much she captured without me even realizing she was there. There are up-close pictures of my husband and me during our ceremony, yet somehow there are ALSO aerial views from upstairs during our ceremony. HOW DOES SHE DO IT?! That's just straight up magic. Andrea has such a kind and gentle way about her, which was so refreshing in a sea of absolute chaos that is your wedding day. The photos are absolutely gorgeous I AM NOT WORTHY!! We met with Jocelyn Voo over Zoom before moving forward with working with her for our special day as our photographer and our witness. Jocelyn was absolutely outstanding for more reasons than one. Firstly, we felt that she really "GOT" us, from start to finish. She listened to our vision (dark, moody, candid, casual, gritty) and as wild as some of our ideas were, she totally leaned in and delivered exactly what we were looking for! Secondly, when you're eloping just the two of you, having a third person present is intimidating; what if it's awkward? What if the vibes are weird? But Jocelyn was an absolute joy to spend time with! I'd go so far as to say that her presence made the day even more special. She asked us about our love story, she joked around with us, and seemed genuinely interested in who we were as people. This also impacted the photos, as you can see how comfortable we are and how much fun we're having. Third, Jocelyn is an expert at her craft, although not pretentiously so. Her website offers so much guidance on how the elopement process works. Her emails with us gave us contacts for who to reach out to for certain steps (We took pictures in the lobby of the Beekman and had to have permission granted; something we certainly wouldn't have known!) Not only did we consider Jocelyn our photographer, but our guide in the process of eloping. She also is an expert in that her photo-taking does not appear obvious! I was worried about having professional pictures taken of me in public, but onlookers barely noticed as Jocelyn very naturally pulled her camera out and snapped pictures. If you are eloping in NYC, there is simply no contest; Jocelyn at Everly Studios is your photographer. Then he allowed me to change and go through the entire shoot again. He was very encouraging and I felt a bit like a model in a movie -- with him saying "beautiful" "give me more smile" and cheering me on. It was more tiring than I thought but he was great at getting me to relax and for this price, the least expensive I found, cash only, you cannot do better. Plus, my shots look like me! Which all my acting teachers say is a must. Not some wind blown over touched plastic. Lastly, unlike so many other studios I looked into, Klaus burns you a disk right then and there with ALL of the images after you've reviewed them so you are sure you like them. So you can get them printed as you wish. The other studios often would take 2 WEEKS! to burn a disk.
