We have used WaveMAX for several years to handle our heavier items, such as dog bedding and furniture covers. In all that time, we have never had an issue with their quality of service. I love that they get them turned around so quickly, often the same day. I have especially appreciated working with Judy who is very friendly while extremely efficient at getting us checked in and letting us know when everything is ready for pickup. I did about 30 loads of laundry in an hour or so, for about 25 bucks. Machines are awesome. Staff will help you and there are designated spots to leave your cart etc that you pick up on pretty quickly. Cash only drink machine, waiting area, restroom (needs lock), and card /cash load onto card for machine use. Clientele is mostly just minding their business, however the first time I went it was a couple hrs before close and there was a strange man there seemingly bothering the attendant but she kept her cool and he left hopefully not to return. But hey- that's Jacksonville. Machines haven't eaten my clothes but dryers get very hot on high heat so check your pockets beforehand. Happy with wash overall! read more

My regular laundry mat closer to my house was busy, so I Yelp'd and WaveMax popped up on my feed. After reading Alison M's and Claudia J's stellar reviews, I said, "Why not?" and headed out with my car full of laundry. They have a very clean location. The most expensive washer will run you $6.75 for 7-8 loads depending on how much you want to stuff the machine. And the least expensive washer is about $2.50 per one actual load. They claim to have the newest and most efficient equipment with the dryers kept at the factory setting for optimum drying. I am sorry I didn't leave a review over the past years I have been having a great experience when Judy, Christie , or the guy whose name start with a D did my clothes. Recently I have picked up my clothes to find them wrinkled and had to refold every thing. Do I have to find another place to get my clothes done? If I was ok with wrinkled clothes I could wash and dry myself and throw them in a bag to take home and gold. Defeats the purpose of drop off. read more

My washer at home was out if commission so I needed to find a place to do laundry. Yeah, we all hate that! Read the reviews and decided to go a little further out of my way and try WaveMAX. It's been awhile since I've used a laundromat so when I walked in and saw 5.50 and 7.50 on machines I just about freaked! Anyway, these were the large and xlarge machines. Found smaller ones in the back for 2.50 a load and that was exactly what I needed. Machines work great and there are plenty to choose from. Was pretty quiet and the woman working greeted me upon entry. Clean facility. They obviously take pride in the establishment. I recommend this place when you just can't do laundry at home. read more

This is a clean, easy to navigate laundromat. I frequently see the owner inside checking that everything is ok. There's always someone working in case you have any issues. The only drawback is their money-to-quarters machine is sometimes very picky with the dollars you give it. But just put it in about 5 times and it'll eventually give you your quarters. Other than that, have been coming here for months and have had no issues. read more

The washer and dryer takes their Wavemax card so be prepared to get a wash card you can add money and go. I have never had an issue like this in any laundromat. I was told that I couldn't be barefoot for safety reasons. Ironically I go barefoot for health and safety reasons. When I moved to the area a couple of years ago, I was so excited to find my apartment (the cutest apartment ever!) that I didn't care that it didn't have a dishwasher or laundry. Dishes are pretty easy to do by hand, but laundry is not, so we found the closest possible laundromat and took our stuff there. Then we found Blue Wave. Blue Wave is a few minutes' drive farther than the other laundromat, but it is so wonderful that it is worth it! Ways in which Blue Wave is awesome: 1) It is staffed. There is always someone there when you forget how much detergent to put in an 8-load washing machine or when you need $10 in quarters but only have a $20 -- they'll break your big bills for you so you don't feel like Scrooge McDuck unless you want to. They're also there when the machines break down, like for the poor guy I saw the other day whose washing machine got stuck on the wash cycle for over an hour. The staff member had to go to the circuit breaker to get it to turn off, and then she moved all his clothes to the next machine over and put money in it for him so that he could get his wash actually done. 2) They have 8-load washing machines. It sucks to have to spend two hours at the laundromat, but if I can throw two or three weeks' worth of clothes for two people in one giant washing machine it seems like so much less work than running the same loads in a tiny machine at home. 3) They have folding tables. Doing laundry at home inevitably means wearing wrinkled clothing straight out of the basket because lazy. The folding tables are so convenient that at the very least I'm wearing nicely folded clothing straight out of the basket, and sometimes I even put it back in the drawers first! 4) They have seating, vending machines, a TV, and wi-fi. My husband and I do the laundry together, so we take advantage of the sitting area with tables to play card games while we wait and listen to whatever weird show is on (usually The Voice/American Idol/other talent show or Criminal Minds, it seems). Sometimes our DVR is overloaded so we bring the laptop and watch TV shows on the internet to catch up. Sometimes we're hungry and we buy a cheap snack. Whatever we need, they have it covered, and if they don't we can wander to Subway or the dollar store in the same shopping center. Our still-hypothetical next place to live is definitely going to have its own laundry, but I am happy to come to Blue Wave for the foreseeable future! read more

It feels weird to LOVE your laundromat, but I LOVE this laundromat. It's such a amazing place to hang out, just a great environment painted nicely in yellow on the walls which goes nicely with the blue machine's and there's WiFi (?!) The people who work there and who run it are very humble and knowledgeable as mentioned in other reviews, they keep this place clean and nice. You can totally hang out here and keep cool and enjoy a subway sandwich from next door. Anyway, this is really a special laundromat. I would not recommend this place at all. I have dropped off my laundry for wash and fold only a few times. The first time I received someone else's clothes mixed in with mine. The next time, three pieces of clothing had faded bleach marks all over my clothes. The only compensation was a $25 credit for future washes. Meanwhile they only accept cash for payment, but wouldn't refund me the cash and $25 cash is letting them off cheap. The ladies that work there are very nice, but apparently the owner is not customer friendly. read more

This place was amazing when they first opened, the owner showed pride and care in his laundromat and assured us that the care and attention would always be number one priority The last few times we have come here I'm sad to report that they are falling short on that promise, they use to stay on top of cleaning the washers after every use, taking a cloth to the interior drum to ensure nothing was left behind that could be potentially damaging to the next customers clothes such as lipstick, crayons, in addition to other things that are not damaging like pet hair, dirt/grime. They also cleaned out the dispensing trays that hold the laundry detergent, softener, and bleach, now when you open those lids that use to remain open to allow air flow to prevent mold/mildew they are filled with dirt and grime on top of mildew and mold spores especially in the liquid soap dispenser. The washer doors that use to be kept open again to allow air circulation are always closed and covered in the same soap build-up and hair. The dryers always have to be inspected because once again they don't do a once over to make sure little jonny did not leave his candy in his pocket. I went to check out this other place to do a comparison, and let me tell you the laundry attendant was walking around with a hand towel and bucket going to every machines soap dispenser and cleaning it out, every drum was wiped clean, and sanitized, the doors wiped cleaned , they would walk around and make sure all the washer doors remained opened not in use, the dryers wiped cleaned and sanitized. Not one washing machine dispenser had leftover residue, and I definitely did not see any black kuck that appears to be mold spores. I even watched them clean the dryer lint traps to ensure we saved money getting max efficiency. On top of all that, yes there is more, if you are doing your own clothes they offer for FREE Supplies include: Clorox Bleach, Dryer sheets, Shout & fresh Bags. If you need laundry soap they have every kind you can think of for $.50c a CUP. Now if you use their drop off service you get to choose between Gain, Tide, Arm & Hammer, along with some other ones that are the free and clear, they have real fabric softener, and use the same dryer sheets we all buy. You just tell them what you prefer. They have Wi-Fi, they have TV's and outdoor seating. I was so amazed by this other place, and it makes me sad that this place can't even make sure their washers are cleaned, every dispenser in this place looks like a petri dish. I would continue to come here if they would just do what's right and clean their equipment. read more

Christmas came early at WaveMax today. One of the employees had promised my laundry by close of business on Christmas Eve. She failed to even start it by the time I stopped by. I met Beverley though and an hour later, an hour before close, she told me she'd been ok'd to start washing, drying, and folding my 60 POUNDS OF LAUNDRY. 6pm, two hours after their closing time, I get a call that she'd stayed and completed the order. Not being a frequenter of Laundromats, I was kinda lost. The attendants were very helpful, especially Veronica. She realized I was using the wrong machine for the load of laundry I was going to wash & assisted me in finding the right machine. Saved me some $$$. LOLs! After washing my loads of Laundry, for it being busy as it was, Veronica still took the time out to make sure I was OK & if I needed help. This is my new favorite place to do laundry! A friend and I went to wash a few loads last Friday afternoon. When we walked in we were pleasantly greeted by a woman who asked if it was our first time there. We responded yes, and she proceeded to show us around and brought us over to some open machines. She was so friendly and helpful! They have a lot of machines and all are brand new. (They have lots of options for water temp, extra rinse, gentle, etc.) She told us they just opened in late December 2012, which explains why everything is so bright and shiny and clean. The seating is somewhat limited, but I imagine that would only be a problem during peak hours or if there were lots of kids. They have an ATM, a coin machine, a clean restroom, water fountains, beverage vending machine, candy machines and a TV. They even have free wi-fi! My friend and I were both so pleased with how clean all of our clothes and towels were after our visit to Blue Wave. If you use coin laundromats, this is the place to go. Their prices are standard from what I've seen in Jacksonville (about $3.50 for the huge front loaders, $2.50 for the regular front loaders, and $0.25 for six minutes of dry time in the regular dryers. I didn't check the price for the huge dryers). The laundromat is at a busy intersection and the surrounding area is a little bit sketchy. There are train tracks about 50 feet from the parking lot, which makes for a bit of noise when trains come through. None of those things bothered me, because inside this place is immaculate. Both the man and woman working there (owners? I'm not certain) made a point to talk to us during our visit and were very friendly. I'm new to the area and have been using the laundromat on Park street for the past 5 months. Awful experience every time I go. It's dirty, half the machines don't work and there is always homeless people hanging around inside and outside begging for money. A few weeks ago I went to the subway and discovered this wonderful laundromat & have been using it ever sense. All machines are new and work, they always have a staff member on duty. They also have vending machines, games for kids, wifi and a tv to watch. I highly recommend this place! Prefacing by saying wow; We were hit hard by the hurricane and had no power for a little over a week. Laundry quickly became last on out list of things to fix and get done to get back to our normal lives. Veronica! at Wavemax made our life a lot easier. Veronica not only took on our 80+ lbs of laundry to wash, bleach, fold, hang (everything). But she took on our laundry at 6:30pm. She stayed open an extra 2 hours just to finish doing all of our laundry and folding. Not only did she work overtime but she called to tell her boss our story and gave us a discount!! After we picked everything up around 10:30pm we gladly tipped Veronica an extra 40$ for everything she did, while we were leaving she ran out of the store because she thought we over paid. When we thanked her and told her it was all for her, the look on her face of overwhelming happiness and tears of joy was enough to make our week. She told us earlier in the day that she called her boss because she knows that doing something nice comes full circle and we absolutely love Veronica for what she did for us.
