I also don't think they're tacky or ugly...they're not far off from things I watched my grandma wear for Christmas growing up, and I loved my grandma, and never found her tacky. I think they could be described as items for the "older" crowd (50-60+) at best. Being old doesn't make you tacky or your sweater ugly.
