The crown eventually had worn a hole through it, and a cavity had developed. The doctor did the cavity repairs, and installed a new crown. That was several months ago. I had complained about the pain over the next few days. I began wondering at that point as to whether the doctor should have done a root canal. The doctor sent me to another doctor that "evaluated" it, and decided a root canal was not necessary at this time. I am on Social Security, and that second opinion cost me over $300 out-of-pocket. So now I have to find another dentist to fix this problem.

Now I am being told I must pay additional fees just to have the orthodontic attachments removed and to receive retainers, which I believed were included in my original treatment plan. After being in trays for several years and going through multiple refinements, this has been extremely disappointing and stressful. Communication has been poor, and I do not feel my treatment was handled professionally or with clear expectations. I would encourage others to get everything in writing and ask detailed questions about what happens at the end of treatment.
