The location is convenient and in between work and home so I drove by at least twice a day and decided to look into them. It's located in a business strip and has it's own parking lot. When I walk in, Monica has always greeted me warmly. She is one of the office assistants and she was so incredibly helpful and friendly. I was trying to get my records switched over and Monica offered to take care of it. There were issues where my former dentist office LOST my records but Monica helped me sort out what to do and called my insurance company to make sure I was covered and good to go. I so appreciated everything she did because she could have left it to me but actually wanted to help. Lori was my dental hygienist and I swear she is the best! It was my first cleaning ever that did not hurt at all! She's very gentle and provides caring advice on how to keep up with my dental hygiene with no judgment (yes, I really should floss more!). Dr. McDonald is also great. He gave me options of what I could do for some of my dental concerns and answered all my questions. You could tell he really cares and takes pride in his work. Never pressured me into choosing any services either. My husband who has really sensitive teeth and gums said that it was pretty much pain free for him too and a lot better than other places he's been. He also agreed that Dr. McDonald was really informative about his options and no pressure to get work done. I could seriously go on and on but I won't. Just want to say I highly recommend anyone looking for a dentist in the DSM area to consider McDonald Family Dentistry for their staff and the care they give their patients. Unfortunately, the tooth needed to be extracted, and it was by far the most painful extraction I've ever experienced. I've had other teeth extracted before, so I understand the difference between normal pressure and actual pain. I told Dr. Wiese several times that I was in pain, and I was in tears during the procedure, but no additional anesthetic was offered. I left feeling that my pain was not taken seriously. I was also disappointed that my prescription had not been sent to the pharmacy by 4:00 p.m. When I called, I was told their computer system had been down and that my prescription had been forgotten when the system came back online. While I appreciate being seen on short notice, the painful procedure and the lack of follow-through with my prescription left me with little confidence in the care I received. Whereas they seem to have done a good job on my wife, they have failed to fix an issue I had. One tooth was in bad shape and causing some pain. The doctor drilled it out and put fillings in...as a "normal" procedure would dictate. However, I am still getting pain in that tooth. I am guessing it should have had a root canal. Dr. Jones is great, even though his job brings me distress, he still does it in effective and efficient. The hours here are great! Who on earth wants to take time off from work for the dentist! At Jones Family Dental, you don't have to! They have extended hours certain days of the week which is awesome. Update September 5th, would not go here. I ended up having two teeth pulled, one was a wisdom tooth. I had such intense nerve pain and still experience nerve pain when I yawn which had nothing to do with my incision sites. I was not treated well and had to seek other medical attention from another doctor for the intense paralyzed feeling in my jaw. I believe that he did quite a bit of nerve damage for an extraction that was NOT necessary. I was sketched out by the way they do not fully explain how much procedures cost and how insurance covered. I don't think that Botox should be used by a dentist to treat headaches, but that was offered to me. I don't like hearing that my sons braces will cost this much but a friend was offered a steep discount because he's just starting to provide the options of braces. A pretty facade is all this place is and I just paid the bill to match it.

06/27/13 Update I had my crown work done and I have also…read morebeen in for a routine cleaning. This is my first crown and it has been perfect! I haven't had a single issue with it and it literally feels like a real tooth. My cleaning was by far the best I've ever had too! They use an ultrasonic cleaning method that did an amazing job! You don't know clean until you have this done here. I'm still so happy with Hove that I bumped my original rating from 4 stars up to 5 stars! I can actually say I don't mind going to see the dentist now. :-) I just moved to Iowa and needed a dentist ASAP! I had a broken tooth that required a temp repair until I can get a crown. I saw a positive review about Hove and decided to give it a try. They got me in within 2 days to patch my tooth, which was adequate timing given my situation. I definitely didn't need a same-day appointment. Upon arrival this morning, I was greeted professionally and kindly, and everything was explained clearly to me across the board. I never felt rushed or like I was inconveniencing anyone with my questions, and all of the staff happily answered any questions I had. I gave 4 stars for now since I only had one procedure done today. I'll post an update and hopefully bump it to 5 stars after I have my crown work done. So far I definitely recommend Hove if you're looking for dental care!! Another plus is the location is easy to find, new, clean, and has modern equipment!

I've switched so many times and received so many x-ray exams that I wouldn't be surprised if my teeth are glowing green by now (that's how x-rays work, right?). There didn't seem to be a dedicated front office clerk but a hygienist came to the front to check me in and informed me of the forms I needed to sign. When the dentist came to see me, she listened to my concerns and answered my questions. She also explained her procedures before she went to town on my chompers. They seemed a bit understaffed (maybe because it's close to a holiday weekend?) but the service was professional and courteous enough for me to go back for my next cleaning.
