Wattle Reserve resembles a battle field.
City of Holdfast Bay Council have now turned it into a car park for trucks, excavators and the private vehicles of staff associated with the destruction of the Esplanade adjacent and the Reserve itself. There are also transportables parked on the northern side. Perhaps these will remain after work is finally completed to be used as emergency public housing (and as there is no consultation with residents by Council, DENR, McConnell Dow, or Holdfast Concrete, a finish date is not known...2013? 2014?, perhaps even 2015?)
The noise level is unacceptable to park users and surrounding residents, yet is deemed acceptable by the Department of Environmental Vandalism.
Foul language used by workers operating on the beach can be clearly heard for some considerable distance. Any comment made to McConnell Dow employees is met with aggression and abuse.
