They have consistently offered kindness and support throughout the burial process of both parents. The team has been kind, humble and supportive to our family. Morton's is a historic family-owned business, founded by a Tuskegee Airman and his wife, a CT State Representative. Their son, Bob Morton, continues to provide compassionate care and service to all families. I highly recommend them.

So we set a time and was told Mr. Morton's wife would be there, but the barber sat and waited for a half hour and nobody ever showed up. To make matters worse Mr. Morton told me they would line him up and they didn't. Then we wanted to get a belt to someone to complete his look and they even gave us the run around about that, it is sad that you are in the comfort business but you didn't provide any. Not only that but they tried to charge us $100 extra, saying an IT person had to be called to help with dismantling some pictures for the program. Where is your compassion and professionalism. My cousin didn't look anything like himself. They even had the date he died wrong on the program. Stay away from this funeral home I would never use them or recommend them!

My family worked with them to make sure that we were able to honor our child the way we wanted. The staff at Farenga was very helpful and above all, understanding and kind. These qualities were so important in this difficult time, where all we could do was grieve. We were so distraught and in a lot of pain that I was dreading our baby's funeral. It was something I never imagined I would have to do. However, the funeral service was a beautiful moment of peace. I didn't expect to feel this way yet it was the perfect way to pay respect and honor our baby's physical body and the amount of love he brought to all of our lives. I truly wouldn't have been able to experience this without my family and Farenga. I am extremely grateful for their genuine care and understanding, in particular Sal and Lisa, who I had the pleasure of interacting with directly. Whilst I wish we could all avoid going through the loss of a loved one, if you ever find yourself in this darkness, I highly recommend reaching out to Farenga Brothers. Their service has the human element which can be hard to find nowadays. And this is what makes all the difference. It did for us and I pray it does for you as well.

His daughter and I had no idea where to start from, and a local rabbi, Rabbi Heshy Ceitlin, recommended I call Kehila Chapels. I'm so glad I did because the Sabbath had just begun, and I wasn't sure that I would even be able to get a hold of anybody there, but they have staff working to help you. Help is an understatement here. From the first person, Rosalyn, to pick up the phone and give you the information, to Daniel the owner, to John the manager, it was nothing but empathy and understanding and caring and such a desire to help you every step of the way. My brother had passed away in Sheepshead Bay Rehab and Nursing Home, and they refused to keep the body there until after the Sabbath because they supposedly don't have refrigeration. After speaking to Kehila and being told that they would be there within three hours to pick up the body, they were there in about 15 minutes. It was unbelievable. John continued to avail himself to us day and night and specifically spell out everything that we could possibly need to know for the burial service. Rosalyn was so efficient that sometimes we did not even need to speak with John. Then, to add icing to the cake, Kehila Chapels got us a rabbi, Rabbi Menachem Sperling, who is out of this world. He also went above and beyond by gathering all the information that he could about my brother from me and my niece and putting together a speech that blew the minds of the attendees at the funeral. There was nothing but raving about him afterwards. He is so wonderful and pleasant and has a knack for combining both seriousness and slight humor to make everyone feel at ease. Both the Rabbi and John from Kehila even checked in another day after the funeral was over to see how my niece was doing since she is my brother's only child. I see that Yelp is asking to mention value in my review. I really don't have anything to compare it to, but I have been told that this is the cheapest place to call. John was very specific in going over every single detail to see what you want or don't want included and what price it would be. In summary, when you are in shock when someone passes away and you don't even know where to start from, just call Kehila. They are great at calming you down and reassuring you that everything will be handled correctly on their end, and they definitely come through for you!
