Watson Clinic has a reputation for being "the" medical care facility of Lakeland. They do have many great doctors and a few poor ones. Nice to be a large facility and have doctoring in one location. Their billing system is lousy, you never know what you're being charged for and what you owe. Because of their popularity, it's hard to get into some doctors and they don't have time for you when you are sick (They tell you to use their Urgent Care.) This is frustrating. They also rarely take you on time. Few work on Friday. Parking is a nightmare, prepare for a long walk, lines for lab work, and being known as a number. I transferred most of my medical needs out of this conglomeration and am much happier but am partial to their gyn and cardiac depts. There is a nice little on-site cafeteria. There are excellent doctors in the Urgent Care. read more

Answer the damn phone!!! Great doctors, but terrible phone system. Hire some more operators! Sometimes you can wait on hold for ten minutes, listening to inane music and endless bragging and recommendations about their services. Plus telling you to "call" to connect to one of those services - but no one answers the phone!! They obviously have enough money, so upgrade the system! Another one - they send you a paperless statement by email. It shows the amount but no detail!! Who is going to pay a bill with no detail? I finally got thru to Billing and the woman told me the detail will come "later" - when? I've now gotten two emails telling me I have a balance with no detail. How do you know that the detail is coming later? Why not put that on the email? The Billing lady finally got annoyed with my questions and hung up on me. read more

If you want a non-stop commercial call for information or help at Watson Clinic. Try to make an appointment, lots of commercials then they suggest they call you back. Then another 5 to 15 minutes of commercials, after they call you back. The billing is a nightmare, even after payment they continue billing. Be sure you check to make sure you have not already paid the bill. I paid the same bill again and guess what, they suggested I would be coming in again and they would leave a credit. They text you and send bills to the patient portal. We finallly told them we would no longer pay without an itemized bill. We got the bill. I did get a refund by suggesting we submit the matter to small claims court if they felt they should keep the money. I would give them no stars if I could. BEWARE, I am sure many seniors pay the bill multiple times. You need to keep good records and be prepared to insist they be accountable. read more

Watson clinic has been the best health care provider I ve seen in the last decade. I get timely appts when needed, messages sent are responded to immediately. Visits are prompt with more than a 15 minute wait. All the doctors and nurses have been excellent. read more

Warning to all..... be sure you have your referral number from your insurance provider before you make your appointment. It took me two weeks and five phone calls to get them to find my referral and release it so it could be used to make my appointment. I felt like I was doing their job for them making sure they did what was necessary to get me my appointment. Calling back and asking twice for the release of my referral approval is something I should never have to do. Better training their staff should be one of Watson Clinics main goals. read more

I am so totally disappointed in the health care I have not received from the ENT department. I've been calling and sending emails for 2 days now and have not received a single word from these people. I am sooo dissatisfied and disappointed it the lack of care and concern. I have a sinus infection which is chronic for me, which they know, and no response for 2 days. Seriously!!! I am very upset that the cost of the 2 MBBs & the RFA are exorbitant, $4516.70 FOR EACH PROCEDURE. I paid $900 out of pocket for the first one & was led to believe that the payment was for all 3 procedures. I cannot afford to pay that much per procedure & would NEVER have agreed to the procedure had I known the full cost to me. I spoke with the billing department about 6 times and got a different answer on exactly what I'm paying for each time, including the time I sat in the office of the surgical center and spoke with the billing department for 15 minutes. An MBB should cost about $300. I understand there are facility costs, but this is outrageous! This isn't the first time Wason Clinic has overbilled for a procedure. He was salty, bitter and short with no diagnosis, no referrals, nothing...nothing....except buy some eye drops! This place is hit or miss with the quality of doctors. I've had a specialist who spent a total of 3min and 45 seconds with me. Another did an exam and said my exam was normal but did not mention what they said was NORMAL WAS A BODY PART THAT HAD BEEN SURGICALLY REMOVED. I'm pretty sure body parts do not grow back. Today, I was denied emergency medical service at the Watson Clinic Urgent Care Center in South Lakeland because I allegedly owed two $20 copayments that I already paid two years ago. I have been talking to people from all over the country tonight. I was warned about the unethical billing practices of this organization. I urge others who have had similar experiences to start making phone calls as I will in the weeks and months ahead. I am not sure just how egregious the aforementioned denial of service is, either under Florida Law or Federal Law. We will soon find out. read more

We just moved to Lakeland in May and looked for a local family physician. We chose Jason Saylor, DO. When we called in July for an appointment, scheduling said the first available time to see him was September. We ended up seeing William Keeler, a PA. He ordered lab work for routine screenings. My cholesterol was high and they said Saylor would like to see me in 4 months and retest. Earlier this month, October, I called to schedule an appointment and told them I was wanted to be seen for to redo a lab test and possible see the doctor, not sure exactly what all they needed. No one knew what I needed. Finally was told lab work was needed and then to see the doctor but the first available appointment is in December, 2 months. My questions....what if I have an issue and need to see my family physician this week or maybe next week? Appears you can't see a family physicians for 2 months, not just a few days or a week or two. This is exactly what socialized medicine looks like! I've NEVER had an issue seeing my physician until I came to this practice, and this is EXACTLY why we are leaving the Watson Clinic. The staff at Saylor's office was friendly, but not being able to see a doctor within a reasonable timeline is pointless. I'm assuming Saylor is like some of these new doctors coming out of medical school that want to make $250,000 with bonuses and perks but only see 10-15 patients a day. If that is the case, he won't last long. I know specialist that are able to see patients within a week, and Saylor is NOT a specialist! read more

I give it a one star because I can't give it a zero. What I thought was going to be a good relationship turned out to be one to get me fired from my job. I was under the care of William Beatty arnp and had an appointment went through my x-ray and my MRI and thought everything was going to be good. I'll test came back negative my last appointment was on May 4th at which time we decided maybe I should see a vascular surgeon or a rheumatologist. We also scheduled an appointment for June 1st just in case I couldn't get in to see one of those two specialists. That would lead a person to believe that you are still under the care because you have an appointment set for June 1st. Unbeknownst to me when William Beatty arnp filled out my paperwork for my disability insurance he told them May 4th that there is nothing more he could do for me. He did not convey this information to me as I thought I would still be covered under his doctor's note for not returning to work as my left knee was still 2 times the size of my right knee. He may not have been able to provide any more assistance to me but one would think to provide continuity of care from one doctor to the next that they would write that note to keep me out of work until I got to see a specialist. Nope not him not going to happen just want to say a big thanks to William Beatty arnp getting me fired because as far as my work is concerned now I was from that appointment May 4th to the appointment I finally got with my rheumatologist May 26th without being under doctor's care. Do you know what they do to someone who is absent from work for 22 days without a doctor's note they fire them. I get fired I have no insurance then I can't get the medical treatment I need. Let's not forget I was told if I want to come back Inn between my May 4th and my June 1st appointment I could get a doctor's now that would keep me out why do I need another appointment I have one scheduled I had one he already knew there was nothing he could do for me why schedule more appointments just trying to take my money while you can till I get fired I wouldn't trust a man to take out a splinter. I will gladly tell anybody my story how not wanting to fill out a simple piece of paper that states I should be out of work until I can see a specialist for my problem 5 minutes worth of time no money no effort really on his part and I get fired cuz he can't do that for me didn't even tell me he didn't do it just let me think I got another I got another appointment the first uncovered that is one insensitive uncaring person that would do something like that and get somebody fired for no reason like that oh can you tell I'm not happy thanks for ruining my life William Beatty arnp read more

After being on hold 25 minutes waiting to see about a billing issue, asked about the person who called me and was immediately put on hold for another 15 minutes. The person who answered the phone and put me on hold then proceeded to tell me the person I inquired about was on break and I would have to call back. I asked if she could help me and she said yes so I began to go through my story and was told I would have to talk to the person I originally inquired about that I was returning a call from. Complete incompetence at Watson Clinic as for the billing department! This lady didn't care about anything other than herself! Seemed to be having a issue just having a job. This clinic has few on time appointments. If you call to speak with a doctor, forget about it. I called at 8:30 AM on a Friday, again on Monday at 10AM to speak about a problem I needed resolved right away. They said they never got the message from Friday until Monday AM. At 3:30 PM Monday still no call back. Person answering said they would send another message to doctors office. Office was not answering phone. They stop taking calls at 4PM. I have to agree about the billing system. Having been in the Urgent Care facility before, my insurance calls for a $40.00 co pay. Yes, I am fortunate and I understand that fact. However, when they take blood, do a chest x-ray, they will bill me additional $40.00 co-pays for each telling me that these are put through as separate "office visits." I am sorry, I walk through the door that says URGENT CARE not into different doctor's visits. My insurance contract says a $40.00 co pay. I even fight and win my cases through my insurance company appeals which demonstrates the discrepancies and unethical billing practices. I just wonder how our Seniors and all of the Medicare/Medicaid patients are being billed along with are any laws being violated? I loved this facility until I caught onto this and tried to rectify the problem. The number of times that I paid these bills and never caught it until one day it hit me! Some doctors need to go back to school for bedside manners. One, when I asked him to tell me what to expect with COPD when initially diagnosed, got up and as he was walking out told me to lose weight. I moved over to another doctor outside of this organization. Another told me I needed to see a psychiatrist on my initial visit as a new patient when I explained my symptoms. Needless to say, I later found out that I tested positive for Lyme disease. That tells me this facility is all about $ and less about caring. read more

Watson Clinic URGENT CARE on Lakeland Hills Blvd. Recently my daughter went to urgent care with coughing and asthma. She got there at 7:40 pm and was told that her account was frozen and that she would not be seen. She is a 22 year old single mother. She was very sick and having a hard time breathing. This experience did not help her asthma. She was told she wouldn't be seen because she did not make a payment on her account. She explained to them that she had tried to make a payment in December and called the billing dept. and wanted to make a lower payment than the required 100.00 that she's been paying each month. The clerical told her no that she had to pay the 100.00. My daughter explained her situation for that month but the clerk was rude and said rules are rules. My daughter asked to talk to a manager. She told her her manager was on vacation and said she would give her a message to call her when she returned. The manager never called her back. When the receptionist told my daughter she would not be seen, my daughter refused to leave and called me. I drove up there and walked in at 8 pm. There my daughter stood crying with a security guard standing beside her. I asked that they please see my daughter that she was having asthma. The clerk said no that her account was frozen and its policy. I told her that I would write out a check for however much was needed. She still refused saying that they were now closed and the computers are shut down at 8 pm. Although, there was still a room full of people in the next room. I have never been more humiliated and was extremely angry. We were treated like a number instead of a human being and they showed no compassion at all. In the future, I will go to any other urgent care other than this one if at all possible. The receptionists and security guards really should show a little more compassion and help someone that was having a hard time breathing. read more

I've been a patient since 2002 under several different doctors at this clinic, and have noticed the service seems to get worse. It use to be you could make an appt. and see a doctor within a couple of weeks, now it's taking months and only if you are worthy of seeing a doctor. In some cases, they tell you to call back in three months because they are so booked up, and when you do, they have to check with the doctor's nurse and then call you back. This is after you had the doctor's nurse tell you to call the front desk to make an appointment! This was an appt. to follow up on major surgery I had! I had one front desk person tell me to call the ER if I had concerns. Really? I had no emergency concerns, I just wanted to make an appointment. The patient portal seemed like a great idea until I realized they don't read my email messages either. They have answered a few, but seem to ignore them for the most part and I've made sure they are important messages. Many cases, I've called morning, afternoon within a two-week window, and the phones are always off the hook by some of these doctors - no one answers the phones! My calls return to the switch board operator. So, very frustrating to say the least. I may have to change my doctors and find a better place that serves and cares about their patients more carefully. This isn't the way a clinic should respect their patients. I find the billing system okay - they don't forget to charge you, that's for sure, and all billing has been correctly charged in my case. read more

I came in to Watson Clinic for an IUD removal and replacement. I had an appointment with "Dr." Pellegrini.. I left with a horrible taste in my mouth and want to let everyone know about this. Firstly, she took her time to begin the process, she denied me numbing medication and pain medication. She never mentioned to me that there would be a man in the room standing behind her, creepily staring into my open cervix. He was of no use in that room and all it did was make me uncomfortable as he placed his hand on my knee at one point when the procedure got most painful and left it there. He proceeded to tell me what a great job I did but really it was uncomfortable. He then left the room after the procedure was finished and the doctor did not even give me a pad as I would slightly bleed for the next few hours.. She didn't even let me stay and rest for the time I needed, she made me feel rushed to get out of the room. I have been in serious pain for almost a week after, they should've given me medication for. This is the second time I get an IUD and I can clearly recall my first experience (being 16 years old) being a bliss. This is not how a medical professional should perform nor treat a patient. No issue with doctor but the billing department? Wow! I'd heard some horror stories about sketchy medical billing, particularly organizations that are overpaid and "inadvertently" keep the money. Certainly not Watson Clinic...right? Well you tell me. They, alone among the medical providers, insisted on upfront payment prior to my wife's surgery. We paid but they never sent us a bill or receipt but were sure to bill our insurance company for the full amount with no line item indicating we had paid for the service. The insurance company paid them last November and after that, not a word about a refund or overpayment until I called about the issue yesterday, Jan 19, 2016. The rude lady in the billing department gave me a story about a refund check just being issued (Serendipitous and two months after they received double payment). I asked when we would receive the check - answer, 2-3 weeks. I questioned why it would take so long and got the "Oh, that's another Department" story that I've received in the past from various and assorted sleaze-balls. If you're facing surgery, you will either capitulate to their extortion or not have the surgery. Then, after getting paid again, they'll pocket your money until you figure it out or hell freezes over, whichever comes first. It's hard not to look at this as 1) Watson Clinic being happy to keep my money and only acting when forced to or 2) chalk it up to an honest mistake. That doesn't excuse a complete lack of documentation from them regarding double payment and the incredibly rude attitude of the co-conspirator...excuse me...administrative assistant who "helped" me. I have been in urgent care often there and the staff has been absolutely WONDERFUL. I have never had such amazing customer care. The nurses make you feel calmer and are always very very kind and the Doctors are super down to earth. I really appreciate everything they have done for me. read more

Taken directly from the company web site: "We do testing to determine what hormones are deficient as you should only replace that which is missing. We always individualize hormone therapy to make for the most convenient, pleasant and cost-effective option for the woman." Very deceiving after what I experienced. I decided to call this practice since they seem to specialize in HRT. I explained that cost was an issue for me and that BEFORE I could schedule an appointment I needed to know if the costs for HRT and the testing were within my budget. I was told that the blood testing would be under $200.00 and that the HRT would not be much more than $50.00 per month thereafter. I was also told that the cost of the appointment would be anywhere from $50.00 to $150.00 determined by who they have see me,a nurse, doctor, or PA . That all seemed very reasonable and within my budget so I scheduled an appointment based on that information. I was seen by Renee Sawka PA and nothing was done beyond taking my weight and looking over my health forms and writing a prescription for blood testing. From the wording on their web site, I thought the test were done in house which is why they were under $200.00. The appointment ended up costing me $120.00. From there I was told to find a lab to do the testing and wait a min of 4 days to get the progestin cream out of my system. I then fasted, went to Quest and the cost of the blood work was over $2000.00!!!!!! Just one item on the list was over $200.00!!!! I could not afford this and I was mislead by this wellness practice. If they are the experts why would they not know the extreme costs of the blood work that they prescribe for their treatment? They were not even in the ball park!!!! Obviously if you are in this business you would know the extreme cost of what you are asking your patient to do!!!!! When I called and spoke with office manager, she said that they do not know costs and that the girl that I scheduled appointment with did not know costs! If that is true she misled me to schedule this appointment that cost me time and money and so I asked for a refund and the office manager turned me down. I asked her to speak with Dr. Peggy Watson and explain my position and she agreed and promised to get back to me. Never got a call back!!!!!
