We dropped in every afternoon for the first 2 nights of our Yamba stay and didn't like the look of the fish that was on display. On day 3 we dropped in at lunchtime and spotted some fresher local flathead fillets! We ordered 3 fillets and a "small" serve of chips - this turned out to be a generous feed for my husband and I and pretty good value at $37. We did have to navigate our way around a few bones and fins, but it was worth it! On day 4 we dropped in and bought 1 kg of prawns which we had for dinner at our holiday rental that evening! They were terrific! In my opinion that's the best thing to buy there. If you do want cooked fish - I think it's better to come for lunch as all the good stuff seems to be gone by dinnertime!

Lovely light tempura batter or grilled fish, home made crunchy chips and wonderful local prawns. The calamari was faultless and I saw many locals come in and grab a calamari wrap which looked great. Beautiful wooden set out with a mix of booths and long high benches worth stools. The food came quickly and the staff were fun and helpful. There are spectacular photos and art work on the wall of you decide to eat in. The beach and kids play ground is just across the road if you prefer. Its fair priced. It's not cheap but quality seafood cooked correctly is worth supporting. and considering they have been there for at least 4 years they are doing things well.
