We dropped in every afternoon for the first 2 nights of our Yamba stay and didn't like the look of the fish that was on display. On day 3 we dropped in at lunchtime and spotted some fresher local flathead fillets! We ordered 3 fillets and a "small" serve of chips - this turned out to be a generous feed for my husband and I and pretty good value at $37. We did have to navigate our way around a few bones and fins, but it was worth it! On day 4 we dropped in and bought 1 kg of prawns which we had for dinner at our holiday rental that evening! They were terrific! In my opinion that's the best thing to buy there. If you do want cooked fish - I think it's better to come for lunch as all the good stuff seems to be gone by dinnertime!

Cooked to perfection... mid review the chef just brought us out some Cajun Mackerel that was also caught this-morning as a welcomed taster. Amazing staff, friendly local kids offered us their bug repellent to keep the mozzies at bay. Wato's is a must visit!

Owner Tony said: "trust me" so I did and am now enjoying some delicious pan fried jewfish, spanish mackerel with luscious mash and a medley of local veggies stir fried with tiny prawns. Served with his home made tartare sauce. Unfortunately, they don't have a licence but you can bring your own.
