Don't do it. DON'T. I was fooled by the model unit. Broad overview: a dead body, awful maintenance, lots of bugs, broken appliances, unhelpful management, awful communication, and pointless added fees. Headache after headache that left me wanting to break my lease one month in. Worst apartment I have lived in. Dead Body: you come home from work and you see news crews, coroners, police cars, and crime scene tape all over your building's parking lot. Not one piece of communication from management at all, but hey, at least it was in the news days later. Maintenance: Good luck getting help. When maintenance would finally come over, they would leave a massive mess and used my own cleaning supplies to clean up the little that they did. But that isn't the biggest issue- on THREE occasions, they left the key to my apartment door in the lock (at one point, for over a week while I was out of town) allowing anyone to go in, take what they want, or who knows, hide in there for my return. Feels great after a dead body is found. Management did nothing about this until after the third time when new management took over. At move in, I noted multiple issues ranging from the smell of cat urine from the previous resident, to a broken AC, to only warm water in my unit. I was told there was no issue with my water heater. During my last week of living there, they replaced my water heater because it began to flood my apartment. Wow, now I have hot water! I was unable to use my dishwasher for the full year because despite me alerting staff that it was leaking badly on day three of living there, maintenance came and "fixed it" 3-4 times, with no progress. It continued to leak so I gave up. Move in- apartment was disgustingly dirty- covered in cat hair from previous resident, floors caked with dirt, you name it. Bugs: The sheer amount of bugs that would crawl in from the gaps in the window moldings/trims and all the other gaps from poor maintenance was insane. Countless spiders, roaches, ants after a rain, and everything else. PLUS, tons of air from outside driving up your bill. If you move here, get adhesive insulation blockers because that is the only thing that will work since maintenance won't fix it. Poor communication: Halfway through living there they mention that they will be adding WiFi- the company will be here on X date. X date goes by with nothing then 3-4 weeks later they are asking to enter my apartment to install WiFi that requires drilling through the ceiling and moving all my stuff again. Don't worry, the mess they left ruined some of my furniture and materials from the white ceiling residue. Or, you need to move your car by tomorrow so we can have the lot paved or else it will be towed- that's great unless you are out of town. Thanks for the heads up! Things like this occurred all the time. Fees: why was I forced to pay for "valet" trash when no one would pick it up from outside my door? I live right in front of the dumpster too! Crazy. Outside: broken down & abandoned cars that sit in the parking lot for 6 months, very poorly maintained roads (the parking lots are solid sheets of ice in the winter and tons of potholes), dog poop all over the green spaces in front of units. Here are the two pros: 1) new management seems to be better than the last, but that bar was below the floor. 2) it's a cheaper option in the Indy area. read more

I wish I could give 0 stars! I normally don't do YELP reviews. This apartment complex in Castleton is not worth the rent I am paying. If you want to have mice running thru your living room and coming into your bedroom, this is the place for you!! I have been seeing mice since 2.11.25 and its now 3.26.25 and now not only am I seeing mice in my living room, now they are coming into my bedroom. I had to throw away 3 bags of office supplies, and miscellaneous items last week due to a mouse running into my closet in my dining room and urinating on everything!!! Its a smell you wont forget, I paid out of pocket for my carpet to be deep cleaned, now they are coming under my bedroom door running into my bedroom closet. I went out this past weekend and bought seal tight totes for some of my my things in my bedroom and that is something that I should not have to do, especially paying $1548.00 a month for rent!!! I have experienced roaches in 2023 for 4 months and only was rid of them once I paid out of my pocket and hired Orkin. Now, I have hired Orkin once again for the mice, they have caught 2 thus far. I have been lied to from the property management stating there was not a rodent issue in my building when all along, there was, If there is not a rodent issue why am I still seeing them in my apartment after the 1st mouse was seen on 2.11.25. I am overly neat and clean and I know that I should not have mice in my apartment. After the 1st sighting 2.11.25 and my meeting with the property manager on 2.14.25 I agreed that in addition to Orkin, I would be okay with their exterminator coming into my apartment when per management the building would be inspected 2.17.25, for mice. At that time on 2.17.25 the apartment's exterminator told me that he told the office there was a problem in the building with mice!!! Yet, I was told by the property manager when we met on 2.14.25 that the mouse I saw was probably a "fluke". Yeah right...The exterminator also shared that he was only here in the building to inspect 4 apartments out of 8..He told me he was instructed to inspect only the apartments attached to me....well, what about the other 4 apartments that could have mice also?? Mice travel thru the walls....what makes management think that the other 4 apartments don't have mice??? Still the other apartments WERE NEVER INSPECTED, very negligent!! When I met with the property manager on 2.14.25, she told me the BUILDING would be inspected .....not true. I called Muesing Management today and left a voicemail for the person over this property asking to break this lease which ends in November. The complex has the nerve to want me to give them a 2 month notice, and pay $2000.00 for a early out of my lease. Why should I have to pay anything to vacate these premises where mice urinate and dwell?? I work from home, I cant concentrate, I don't sleep well fearing that they will crawl all over me at night!! I was closing my door at night, they were able to crawl right thru the crack of my door and come into my bedroom, the only place I felt safe!!! I just needed to post this....they have the nerve to be running a move in special!! DONT MOVE HERE!!! read more

My biggest regret is moving here. We live in a first floor unit and they tell you that the upstairs are carpeted so there is no noise, but what they don't tell you is that the ceilings are structured with wood, therefore, anytime your upstairs neighbors simply WALK, there is creaking and popping noises from the ceiling. I addressed this to the property workers, and all they said was that they can send a noise complaint to the people above us. Lol, the people above us are doing nothing wrong, just simply walking. We will for sure not be re-signing our lease. Also, the front desk people are beyond rude & never want to help with anything. Just save your time & money & don't move here!!!!! read more

I would put no stars if I could. The office staff is terrible as well as unreliable. They don't help with anything at all. I have had to make noise complaints since I've moved in.. I've been here 6 months now, & nothing has been done. When I told them about the complaint, one lady didn't even want to help me, she simply said "Call the police". The manager actually came over to hear it and still did nothing about it except leave a note saying it was a violation of their lease. Yet there is still the same problem, and every time I ask to speak with the manager she tells them to let me know she's not available. I have a month old baby, and we never get a good sleep because of the noise and bass that's constantly banging on my wall. Maintenance has walked in my apartment 3 times for no reason but never came when I actually had a problem, or just took their time. My door wouldn't lock and sometimes wouldn't even open/ close because of the problem.. I called on a Friday and had to wait until Monday because "it wasn't a maintenance emergency". The water has been cut off over 10 times since the beginning of the year, sometimes with no notice. Overall the apartments are terrible, everything about them. Honestly just wish I could break my lease. I pay $1200/ mo for BS! Could've stayed in the hood for all this. read more

Pros: -The updated units are beautiful, cozy, and the fireplaces and other details keep a bit of a traditional feel. -Depending on which building your unit is in you may be lucky enough to have one surrounded by trees which makes it feel like you aren't right off the interstate. -Super convenient location, being right of the interstate makes it super easy to get anywhere fast! Cons: -Maintenance takes forever to take action. I mean, when your AC goes out... 48 hours is a purely acceptable wait, right? Ehhh, not so much. -Dogs not on leashes, which I never considered a big deal. Until you are constantly panicking that the poor little guy will get hit buy one of the race car drivers speeding around the complex. -Management isn't too friendly. They recently changed management companies and the online rent payment site has been down, forcing us to take payments into the office. I didn't realize how unfriendly they were until this happened. Maybe they should've got the working first so I didn't have to knock them down another star just for how rude and abrupt the management is every time I've gone in. Soooooo, overall I feel like the quality of the units AND the complex overall isn't worth the amount they charge. They could have a really good thing going here, but they just miss the mark in my opinion. read more

My mother has been living in her apartment, which is at the very back of the main drive, no more than ONE week before she experienced THEFT from one of her upstairs neighbor!!!!! I had a bed frame delivered to her and it was taken from the front door only 15 minutes after the delivery time. I informed her that it has been delivered and when she went out in the hall to check, she saw a man walking upstairs with a big box. I was on the phone with her and I heard her calling out, but she said the person kept walking! We NEVER did get the bed back and the office workers did not seem too interested in assisting her. Never mentioned security. Also, her patio faces the trees, which obviously has NOT been trimmed in years! I would NOT recommend living here or at least in the back, which is in my opinion, the WORSE section!!!!!!!!!!! AND NO KEYS TO MAILBOXES! What kind of mess is that?? read more

I've lived here for 3 months now, and I'm already regretting this decision so much. First off -- when you do the tour they show you this nice finished apartment, and I was told all of the units looked like this -- my unit looks NOTHING like this and probably hasn't been updated since the unit was built. I will note that the management has changed since my tour, so hopefully they aren't still being deceptive, but I'm not sure. Also during my tour, I was told three times, by two different workers, that ALL units have washer/dryer hookups and that I could rent both for $50 if I'd like. Well fast forward to move in day -- our apartment is so god awfully outdated, and no washer/dryer hookups. When I went to the front office about this, they were so confused as to why anyone would have told me this (management had already switched at this point), and said I could switch units if I'd like -- but they weren't sure how long another one would be available, could be weeks to a month. Well the moving company we used already was scheduled to deliver all of our items the next day, and we couldn't exactly post-pone it and keep everything in storage for weeks while we waited. So we had no choice but to stay where we were. There is one washer/dryer in the bottom floor that is shared among 8 units, which we've been lucky enough to have no issues with the availability of it -- but twice now the dryer has quit working and it's taken constant harassing of the office to get anyone to even come look at them, and as of right now the dryer has been out for over a week. The gym here -- what a joke. Not only do the key cards not work, but the equipment itself is so outdated as well. My key hasn't worked since day 1, and I have asked anywhere from 2-3 times a week about getting a working one. First I was told that they were calling the card company out, then I was told that my card had never been entered in the system, then I was told they're ordering all new cards. Well I went to the office again today, and it's "Well the pool over there is being worked on so maybe it's messing with the wires or something" because that makes sense. Anytime I need to call the office about an issue, it takes me calling 20-30 times (today I got a pick up and hang up from them, twice) and still getting no answer, and then finally I have to go down there and speak to someone in person. They never have any answers for me either, just excuses. The first week we moved in, one of our neighbors was throwing a party, and one of their guests puked in the stairwell and there's been a giant puke stain on the steps ever since. My daughter's bedroom closet door keeps falling off the track, luckily when we are not in there. The door is very large and heavy, and it could seriously injure her. I've had them out to fix it twice now and been told "The tracks are so misshapen and old, no door is going to really stay in there. So just try not to use it very much. It really needs to be entirely replaced, but they're not going to want to do that" from the maintenance guy. The apartment wanted to replace our bedroom window, so we had that done -- but the people they hired seemed so unprofessional. About two months later, we are still finding all kinds of debris in the carpet from where they didn't clean up after themselves, and I even found a razor blade on my TV stand behind the TV (it's right next to the window). Glad my curious and mobile 1 year old didn't find it before I did. All in all -- I hate living here. read more

If you put in a pet deposit you won't get back all of it ! I cleaned apartment so well you never knew that there was a dog there and my lease didn't tell me $ 200 upfront until signing lease papers and then a check was given $ 200 did not say anything about non refundable of $ 100 of this. Paid extra monthly for my pet and the deposit and not to get all of it back for no good reason is not acceptable ! Not one place have I lived in and they done that too me , this was trusted with a co signer and was not told non refundable and then for a agent there to say its in the lease and its for the dog rent of a year ?!! What !? I just had to put my dog to sleep and this is not setting well for these apartments so if you rent here they aren't totally honest about their refund policy so you will lose some of your money even if you clean ! This place as issues with their tenants being fire bugs and pool nasty ness almost never got to use the whole summer , Had to call constantly to get them to get electrician out for lights outside for safety . read more

Great location, competitive price, neighborhood is reasonably safe. Maintenance is horribly slow... unbelievably slow. Requests go ignored for days and even weeks sometimes. I've been waiting 2 months for a security arm for my patio door which is "on order" and my microwave went out 3 days ago (maintenance finally came out today), it too has to be ordered. Who knows how long I'll wait before I get another one! Dog owners don't pick up their dog mess, although it is stated to do so in the lease, and several dogs run around without leashes. The breed restriction is not enforced here either. Imagine... 2am, on your patio, in the dark, and a pit bull approaches, unleashed and unaccompanied by an owner. Yep, scared the crap out of me too! If I had an apartment without any maintenance issues (yeah right!), the only problems here would be potholes, pet owners, and incompetent management staff. I HATE LIVING HERE! read more

The management company is deceitful and fraudulent! They left Salem at 56 without warning. The employees from Salem that transferred here stole our money. They charged us for rent and water in the month of May but never paid their bills. The new company inherited water bills at least 3 or 4 months old. Now half of the tenants at Salem paid bills and have been charged late fees in May because Wilkinson kept all the money and didn't transfer it like they should have done. I complained to the company about an inappropriate male employee, his boss was his friend and the management company never replied. I posted a google review and they respond. Always get your receipts and have copies of your bank statements with this company. I've taken mine to the Attorney General and I provided them with documentation to include bank statements and all receipts. read more

Although the updated units were nice, there was much to be desired. There were tons of potholes in the parking lot, I had issues with insects, my faucets were backwards(cold was hot, vice versa) And I had a reoccurring issue with my patio doors that maintenance kept claiming to fix. I called on it over 6 times. (Not) to my surprise, I was robbed within 2 months of living there. They came through the patio! I broke my lease and was out of there. I hope they make the necessary changes to improve tenant experience, but I still don't recommend this place. read more

I have lived here for almost two years and I am currently on the countdown til my lease expires. I have saw that their is a new manager and office staff every 60-90 days. I'm about 95% sure they have some type of "half way house" style living on the property. I see Van's transporting tons of men daily from one particular unit. Upon preparing to travel last week, packed my suitcase, hopped in the shower and BAM! NO WATER. The manager failed to notify us their was a water issue, the entire place was without water from 10am until well after 8pm. I was forced to drive to my parents 45 minutes away almost missing my flight. This place is all about the money and could care less about its residents. Since the building's are locked packages have to be left at the office ( UPS/FedEx). Today the office staff decided to throw a pool party and all sense of being a business/company went out the window. For several days I awaited a package delivery only to call and was informed the package was delivered earlier that day to the office. I never received a package alert from the Resident Portal ( which is what happens when they staff are "on their job" and log the package into the system. I then drove to the office since calling 4 times was useless. Only to find out the office had been closed from 3pm til 5pm for a pool party. It's now 3:40pm. Sooo I patiently wait til 5pm. Arrive at the office at 5:10pm. Since they typically stay open til 6pm. To find the doors still locked. I wait out in my car for 20-30 minutes. Still nothing. The office never reopened. Maybe a notice indicating the office would close early for the day. So I now have a package with work supplies that I need for an event at 10am today and the office doesn't even open til 10am. (TYPICALLY). UNLESS THEIR TOO BUSY THROWING BARBEQUES AND POOL PARTIES. Last but not least the Office Manager shut off my utilities in an attempt to shut off the utilities for a vacant unit. I found out about the discrepancy. Cleared things up with the utility company. Once the manager realized her mistake she attempted to have No Clue what had occurred. Until the utility company played back the audio. On top of that the charges were put on my rent along with a fee. When I was totally unaware what had happened and why. This entire residency has been a disaster! read more

I have called Wilkinson Asset Management at the number you have losted for 3 months. I always get voicemail, no one ever answers and none of my calls have been returned. You are not willing to assist, you are not willing to help. its February and I have yet to receive my security deposit. I have been forced to take legal action! I have also filed a complaint with the BBB that you also have failed to respond to. Its now been escalated to the State of Indiana Attorney Generals office. since your company feels that they can take someones deposit when you acknowledged that the unit was left in outstanding condition. This company is unethical and definitely does not look out for the best interest of their tenants! Three months worth of calls, emails and voice mails and you respond on yelp and you clearly have my contact. FOR ANY ONE CONSIDERING RENTING AT WATERSIDE OF CASTLETON OR ANY PROPERTY MANAGED BY WILKINSON ASSET MANAGEMENT. DONT!!! read more

We have lived here for one year, our lease is up next month. When we first moved it it was a nice neighborhood I felt safe walking around. And then I just decide to go out on my patio one day just to be essentially cat called by my downstairs neighbor. And now I'm even scared to go out on my balcony regardless. I would report the issue, but the office NEVER ANSWERS THEIR PHONE. EVER. I have literally called up to 20 times in one day, during the week, during business hours, multiple days in a row. And nothing. I went in to complain about this and just get told that that's ridiculous and they haven't gotten any calls, absolutely mind blowing that anyone in that office still has a job. Dog owners don't pick up their pet droppings, I've called in about that multiple times just for nothing to be done. Pool has been closed for months, maintenance is absolutely terrible and ignore requests for days and weeks. And now, which was the final straw for me causing me to write this review, they send out these phone calls that say they are from Texas, it is an automated voice that updates you on anything they change regarding how to pay rent or anything that is going on with construction around the complex, which is fine whatever yes please keep me informed. But the past FOUR DAYS I have been woken up at 7:30 am or earlier to construction RIGHT OUTSIDE OF MY WINDOW, with squeaking every 5 seconds so loud that it echoes throughout the entire complex. I go to call to complain about this AGAIN but of course I get NO ANSWER!!!!!! This is a terrible place to live, and trust me I have tried so hard to give it SO MANY CHANCES. Screw this place, I am ecstatic to get out. read more
