Then the store hours drastically decreased and we had to resort to using their outside water dispenser having to wait in long lines just to pump our own water. I'm impressed by this location. The staff is attentive. He helped rinse out my water bottles. Fill my water bottles with water. Seal the water bottle to avoid leakage, wipe my water bottles. Put them in my cart and load them into my trunk. :) The place is clean. Has multiple rocking chairs to sit on while you wait. It's 5 star service. TL;DR: never again. We had errands in the same strip mall and thought instead of going to Sprouts or Jimbo's where we usually fill our small water jugs (we don't use big 3 gals while out of town visiting family here) that we could check out this place my mom had spotted. When we walked up and peeked in, I already got weird vibes, but thought we could get over it and try something different because it's closer, Jimbo's machine is often in use and the one outside at Sprouts only dispenses in full gallon increments, not a half. At some store machines, you fill until you're done and pay at the register for what you dispensed. I was hoping for that option. I saw no one was using the alkaline water and the stations look like self serve; there are no directions or signage about not using them. I filled up our 1 gal and .5 gal bottles in about 30 seconds and then waited at the counter to be checked out but there was no one there. While I waited for service, I read among the counter's many notes that there's a minimum $10 purchase to use debit/credit and our water would be $1.50. So my husband ran to the ATM at CVS and got a 20 with a $3.50 ATM fee. He had time to find the ATM and come back well before anyone acknowledged us. I couldn't tell who worked there and who were customers. There were several people sitting in a row of rocking chairs, and after a while I started to get uncomfortable thinking we jumped a line of people waiting for a worker to fill their bottles. Finally when I could figure out the man that worked there, I asked if we could be rung up. He seemed irritated and muttered a question we couldn't understand twice. We told him alkaline, 1 gallon and a half. It seemed like the only reason he helped us was because it was faster than chewing us out. I totally understand language barriers, but if I owned a store, I would make a serious effort to learn the necessary vocabulary to run my business well. And I don't accept a language barrier as a reason for being unhelpful; a smile and a wave can communicate- hello, welcome, have a seat, I'll be with you, etc. And the signage that is there is in English, so it would be totally possible to make some signage about how it all works. Maybe even put the filling stations behind the counter and leave the side open for carts if they don't want people loading their bottles onto carts or using the spigots. Anyways... 25 minutes and $5 later, we got out of there with our little bottles filled. I feel gross thinking about the experience. I don't know why anyone goes there more than once. read more

I had been coming here for many years. Most recently the (male) owner has had horrible customer service. I don't expect much but it's a family owned business he should be grateful for his customers. The female (his wife) is usually more friendly. I came in and put my empty jugs in the carts that he uses to bring the water out and he got really upset over that. We've been coming here over a decade. The owner, Mr. Park, used to be polite and helpful. Now he's rude and indifferent. He ignores what's said to him and goes through the motions as though life weren't worth living. I feel bad for him, but honestly, after he ignored my question (which a customer in one of the rocking chairs finally answered), then at 2:10 on a Saturday he locked the door knowing we were about to go in, I won't be going back. I've been going to this water store for a little over a year now. The owner is very rude, despite that I always try to be pleasant and polite to him. My boyfriend has said he's nice to him but I've never seen it. I was in today and, while he helped another customer to their car, myself and another patron started filling our bottles at the water bar. The water is good and this man does his job efficiently, but wow... he has got to be the rudest person I have ever met. I am shocked that some people are saying he's nice and friendly. I have never actually seen him treat anyone in the store with much more than disdain. The water tastes so fresh and refreshing! If you think you don't like drinking water, it may be the water you're drinking and not you! We seem to drink more water when we fill our large bottles from this store. You can get it yourself from the outside vending area or bring your bottles in to get rinsed and filled. Best tasting water in Escondido! Come here weekly for alkaline and regular water. They use a coconut based filter which helps sweeten the water a tiny bit. They are both helpful and wash your bottles and carry them to your car on a cart after filled. The exterior filling station is fast with the ability to fill 2 bottles at once, or for someone else to do theirs at the same time. The alkaline water is the best, besides Carlsbad's water, but definitely cheaper. Would recommend coming here if you live close by. Also they play Air1 on the radio which is the best, nothing like getting filled up with the sounds of positive encouraging water of life, while getting you water bottles filled! read more

I just have to say I've been coming here since 2015 to get our five gallon water bottles filled. It might be the best water around at a great price but the service is a bit rude, slow and possibly even racist. My daughter and I have tried to engage conversations with the owner/operator, tip him and relate to how busy he can be but we're always met with aloof disdain to the point where it's obvious he may not like us. I know English is his second language but I've witnessed him speaking English with other customers from time to time. My daughter has an African American friend and he literally stopped dead in his tracks to pause and stare at her in the back seat, then looked at my daughter, then back at her until he finally resumed loading the water in the trunk. Idk maybe I'm imagining things but it was definitely uncomfortable. We still go here but we bought extra bottles from Walmart so we don't have to go as often and we definitely stopped tipping.
