I was panicked and completely anxious because we have a pool and live right by a body of water. Well, within two or three 10 minute sessions she had my two year old and three-year-old swimming! Some of the early lessons were challenging for them. I know some parents have a difficult time hearing their kids get frustrated and seeing them struggle as they learn a new skill, but it's absolutely worth it. My kids are so comfortable in the water and it's one of their very favorite places to be. They dive down to the bottom of the pool, they go through hoops underwater, they have mermaid tales. The Parent Tot 1 class allows one parent to get in the water with the baby and the instructor, which is wonderful because it helps everyone stay on the same page. By the way, this water feels incredible!!!! Our teacher, Isabella, is phenomenal! Her voice is similar to Ms. Rachel's, so my daughter loves her. There's a stuffed Elmo that comes out at each class to help the babies with their techniques. I've noticed that a lot of people just leave after class, but if your child is like mine, you can take advantage of the facility's shower - just bring your body wash and take a quick shower so they can go straight to sleep when you leave. I attended one Parent & Tot class, and the first thing I noticed when I walked into the pool area was the overwhelming smell of chlorine. It was so strong that it burned my nose and eyes. I was told the pool's chlorine levels are maintained within a safe range, but based on my experience, I found that very hard to believe. As a parent bringing my baby into the water, that immediately made me uncomfortable. I was also surprised by how many classes were happening at the same time. If you're expecting a calm, relaxing environment for your baby to get comfortable in the water, this isn't it. The pool was crowded, noisy, and chaotic, with several classes taking place simultaneously. It was overstimulating for both me and my child and did not feel like the ideal setting for a toddler swim lesson. What was even more disappointing was the enrollment process. The cancellation policy was not explained clearly at all. You are charged for the current month and the following month, and if you decide the program isn't a good fit after your first class, you're still responsible for paying for the next month unless you cancel before the first day of that month. I wish this had been communicated clearly before I signed up instead of discovering it afterward. It felt misleading and left me feeling stuck paying for services I no longer wanted. Between the overpowering chlorine smell, the chaotic class environment, and the lack of transparency regarding their billing and cancellation policies, my experience was extremely disappointing. Found this place and it felt very "mom and pop" to me which is comforting since I haven't stepped foot in a gym in at least a decade and a half (not counting CrossFit).
