On Thursday, January 9th at about 6PM,
I saw a line going all the way to the outside of the refill station. I have never seen it as busy as it was. When I finally did make it inside with my empty gallons, the gentleman working the water station, who was by himself, proceeded to tell me that he was not going to be able to help me.
He pointed at the big filtration system behind the glass and mumbled something about it. I stayed in line, I honestly needed water. My wife is nursing my newborn at home. She needs to stay hydrated.
After a little bit longer,
More people showed up,
And this gentleman told these people the same thing. The people behind me stated, "Why do you still have the 'OPEN' sign on then."
He then stated that something was going on with the filtration system and that he had limited amount of water he could pump. I asked him if he could at least fill up two single gallons for me. He told me he couldn't.
He also stated, "It's not that I don't want to work right now, it's just" he pointed at the system again, "my system will not allow me to. You can come back tomorrow at 9AM."
A few points I will state,
1. To respond to customers who have no idea of the mechanisms of which the water is filtered is beyond unprofessional.
2. He could have said things to people as soon as they came in, in a more professional manner. And responded to customers differently.
Examples: "Excuse me, I have to apologize for letting you know this news, but my systems are giving me a hard time and I will have to close the store soon. I won't be able to help you, because I want to ensure that you have the best quality water, we can provide for you."
"I understand that the 'OPEN' sign is still on, but I have been backed up," I would then ask the patrons if it would be ok to step away to turn off the '"OPEN" sign, then turn it off and proceed to help the customers that were in line.
3. Why would he state that, "It's not that I don't want to work right now." ?
I really enjoy Wateria,
But this gentleman had to behave professionally to maintain the integrity of the company. I will still come back today in order to get water for my nursing wife. We have just enough for today.
It's not the first time this gentlemen has behaved unprofessionally. I have asked him in the past if I may refill two of my reusable water containers that I had, he stated that the water was for everyone and not just one person.
Does he not work at a water refill station?
I'm sure Wateria does not mind giving water to it's patrons. But when will this man be let go? Maybe he needed one more person with him.
None the less,
You ensure that paying customers are treated with utmost respect, even if you have to turn them away.
Wish me luck,
I hope the girls are in today! read more
