Dog-friendly indoor market with vendors that sell produces, baked goods, plants, wellness products, and more. There are also a few places that sell food. There is always a long line waiting for Mexican food. Parking gets full on the weekend. You may have to park in the garage and walk over.

Admiring the plants from a plant vendor at the market.

The Waterfront Market at Point Ruston is a nice change of pace for the Tacoma area. There isn't much for specialty items for food or gifts that have a personalized touch and your next best option is just going to the mall for gift shopping. There is a variety of different food vendors here with food trucks, a coffee shop, a meat shop, gourmet peanuts and nuts and more! There are permanent vendors here throughout the week and more pop up during the weekend. I don't come here too terribly often but I did notice on their website some weekend vendors listed were not there on the last weekend I went there. So I am not sure if the weekend vendors vary from weekend to weekend or if the website is outdated in regards to vendors that no longer participate at this location. Well, despite that it's still fun to pop in here once in a while as it's refreshing pace change with shopping for the area. Summers are especially fun to come here but it's very enjoyable anytime of the year.

There are different stall and they offer an array of vendors that sells clothes, candles, arts & crafts, bags, food, cookies, pastries, flowers and so much more. It seems to be different every time we go there. It's a must see and experience. The ambience is very welcoming and the vendors are nice.

Cora's Seafood! Right out front of the market!

it's OK. Basically, it's like a mini version of pike place market in Seattle. And it would be worth going to at least once.

One of the best markets in the state. Safer than pike place, great vendors and amazing food!

Got to bring one of my friends here for her first time and it did not disappoint! I always enjoy…read moregetting to see all the different vendors, whether they're food or art related. And honestly, every time I've come here, it still feels like I don't have enough time to make it through each section and floor of the market to properly see and enjoy everything. So I'll just have to keep coming back to explore more haha. One of my favorite discoveries has been how dog-friendly so many of the businesses were. A few of the vendors even offered my dog a treat, which was the nicest thing ever! Getting to try samples like apple cider, different types of vinaigrettes to dip your bread into, and beef jerky is always a win, and such a fun way to find new favorites!! Plus, there are plenty of great views and fun sights throughout the market if you're open to wandering around the different levels. Just a heads-up: it definitely gets crowded, especially on weekends!!

Getting to Pike Place is super easy on public transit from the airport - it's direct there and under an hour away. Very user-friendly. The market itself can be explored in a couple of hours. I didn't get to see the famous "fish throwing" unfortunately but I did get to check out a number of stores. Places are very generous with samples. I tried bread with a few different balsamic vinegars and oils, salmon, truffle spreads and salt, and apple juice. The area around the market is very walkable and felt safe and clean. Prices are reasonable and it's easy to pick up souvenirs for friends. There are a wide variety of sundries available and most shops had airplane-friendly packaging. Also nearby is the famous gum wall (disgusting!) and the original Starbucks. Restrooms are plentiful although I found them to be a little unsavory in terms of cleanliness. The stall doors were also weirdly short? I'm a modest 5'3" and I found myself towering over them. Worth a stop if you're in the area. Very fun vibes.
