My loved one has been at various health care facilities in the area. Never fell out of bed, THREE TIMES, or sustained injuries at a facility until he resided at the Maples at Waterford Crossing Healthcare. I came in one day and his bed was raised up. Being he had fallen out of bed already and was considered a fall risk, one would think "trained individuals" would have the common sense to have the bed lowered. Not so, so I asked who oversaw his care that day and asked that incompetent aide not be anymore. Since then, I was treated badly and heard as such. My father was blind but not deaf. He heard things about me, and it hurt him. Here she comes to take more pictures! Yes, Mam I am thank you. I have pictures to back all of this up. Not making this up, as I have heard my name is being discussed about this and other issues and this is slander.
I wheeled him out and asked the nurse what happened????? She and no one else knew about it! The aide did not report it from the morning. As you will see by the pictures I would come in and he would be slipping out of his chair. His call light on the floor or across the room. He could not even get a drink by himself. His lips would be dried out and bloody. Which ended up be admitted to the hospital with sepsis from an UTI from not being hydrated.
I walked to the dining room to see dad. His nose was injured. I asked what happened dad?! The nurse sitting beside him said oh we were going to call you; he fell out of bed last night. NEVER was called!! Never called from his THREE falls either.
My mother-in-law brought in brand new clothes for my father-in-law to use while there. THEY CAME UP MISSING! I don't think they ever figured out who the thief was, or just didn't care.
If Chad the administrator would have seen to it that his staff treated the residents like he did lady staff, the facility would be exceptional!
He was at the mercy of his roommates tv being loud on Jerry Springer. I asked the Social Worker to get the resident headphones. NOTHING was ever done. Room was dirty most of the time.
I feel my father's patient's rights were neglected:
Dignity and respect- he was told multiple times, when he asked for an urinal, go in your brief we will get to you later. Or you don't want to go down to dinner, do you?
personal property- when he came to live with me they did not send a cord to his Alexa and a seat cushion, among other items. Due to Covid I could not go in to make sure all his belongings were intact.
neglect of care-as stated in this review and skin breakdown from not being hydrated, brief wasn't changed enough.
He was afraid to complain as he was the mercy of a drink of water. Blind at 55 yo and bed ridden at 75 yo. Was in a nursing facility for 10 years and at Waterford Crossing 3 years.
I had to post posters in his room for common sense care such as please remember to leave bed in down position after care. Please ask him if he wants a drink of water.
They would leave boxes of supplies in the hall, which is against code, a fire hazard!
An aide sent my son nude pictures of herself. Was caught walking away from the med cart unlocked. And was involved in passing around a picture of a resident and yet STILL works for the company in HR last I HEARD.
I would recommend Greencroft or Hubbard Hill for quality care and compassion.
I have heard that my name is mentioned for being a troublemaker. If I am accused of being an advocate for a vulnerable, blind and bedridden human who is not being properly cared for, I am good with that. read more
