But I knew their specialty was patios and landscaping, so we reached out when we were ready to do more with our backyard. They've been super booked this summer, but were able to fit us in. The concrete patio they installed looks incredible. We love the space it created for our kids to play and for us to enjoy. It's so nice to have a space outdoors where we can entertain and be proud of how it looks. During the patio process, they let us bring our own drawings and ideas to the table, and guided us according to the best practices they know so well. They went over and above, allowing us to add some additional space and came back to add sod in some places where the yard grade had changed and drainage needed to be adjusted. Both at no extra cost. When our home was built (on spec), the builder didn't do anything to ensure that the drainage (from the downspouts) was routed appropriately. Our home has a courtyard in the front, and the majority of rainwater was dumped right into the courtyard, where it ran down and across our front yard. Two other downspouts drained across the front yard as well, and the results was erosion that prevented grass from growing. I had trouble finding a contractor who specialized in this kind of work--most focus on sprinklers, gutters, or foundation work. I needed someone to bury these drain lines, including cutting the concrete in the courtyard to get the lines underground. Owens took care of all of it, including running one drain line under a sidewalk without cutting it. All of the work was done professionally, and there was no uncharge for unexpected problems, like the concrete being much thicker than expected, requiring jackhammering to get through it all. Brandon listened to what I want, and didn't try to talk me into shortcuts or options I wasn't interested in. It was an excellent experience, and Brandon offered expertise in other areas (like sod) as well. The guy is VERY busy. I'd suggest being patient, it's worth it. Great work at a fair price.

His pricing is incredibly fair, and he's never going to push you to spend money you don't need to spend. Jantzen has spent SO much time talking through various roofing issues with me over the years, and not once have I felt the least bit of pressure from him to make a sale. EXAMPLE: We recently had a contractor's crew working on a small addition to the house, and while they were on the roof, they told us the entire roof needed to be replaced. They texted me some photos they took of the roof while they were up there as "evidence." I sent the photos along to Jantzen, and he set up a call with me and spent the better part of an hour talking through his analysis of the roof based on both their photos and his experience being up on the roof itself in the past. With all that time and effort, you'd think he'd be pushing us to have him replace the roof, but he literally told me that we did NOT need to replace it at this stage. He just wanted to take the time to make sure I fully understood the state of the roof and his reasoning. This was consistent with every experience I've had talking with Jantzen about questions about our roof. He takes the time to talk through all issues in detail; you will never feel rushed or feel like he has more important places to be. He is really and truly dedicated to making sure that anyone he works with receives his full attention and the highest quality service. Attached are some photos of a repair he completed last week, removing an old vent that had started to leak into the attic and patching the roof over the spot where it was. You can see how tidy and organized the work is. I didn't even ask him for step-by-step photos, but that's the sort of attention to detail you get with Jantzen. He knows we can't tell what's under the shingles, so this way we know exactly what was done. Again, his honesty is so refreshing in the home services world. I trust Jantzen completely with all roofing needs, and over the years, none of the work he's done has ever failed or needed to be redone. With Paul, I hired the good-ol' Texas contractor who is reliable, honest and knows how to do great work at competitive prices.
