Been to this location several times and I've had no problems whatsoever until my very last experience over the phone with one particular lady. At first, I spoke with a young lady who was kind and helpful with placing my order over the phone. Next day, I decided to call back and this time around I got what seemed to be an older lady who answered very rudely and continued on with such a sassy attitude. Not sure what came over her. I was just double checking and making sure they had my order correct. Just sad to know how some people feel the need to act in such a way. Whoever she may be, I just hope she realizes that having that type of attitude is never good. You just never know who you may be messing with and respect and kindness goes a long way. read more

I was able to get pakalana strands twisted for $19/strand. The airport lei stand I stopped at the day prior was charging $35/strand. Because it's not super busy, service is always very quick. There are not too many flower shops on the Mililani side, except for the ones in a supermarket. But I was looking for something to be made for a Punchbowl funeral. I discovered that Watanabe Florist had a location in Waipahu, although a small "express" one. But their service was awesome. Even though my order was a small one, the nice lady worked with me to make a flower arrangement that I felt comfortable with. And didn't charge me an arm & a leg for it. Located in Waipahu by Jack in the Box. Lots of parking out front. As i entered the store, the girl greeted me and asked if i needed assistance in finding something? I said yes I'm looking for a lily. She pointed to the lily's and helped me take the bucket out of the refrigerator. I chose a lily and asked her if she had any fern? She gave me a few scrap pieces (i only needed one or two small ones). It came out to a really good price. She rang me up and wrapped up what i purchased. I like this place. They have nice flowers and leis. This is my go to when in a pinch, and the prices are reasonable and they have discounts for military and education workers which is commendable. But I have to say that every time I come here there's this one young lady who is very rude. I don't know if she knows it or not, but she looks angry and unhappy to be working there and snaps at all the customers for petty things, even the elderly. Her phone demeanor is equally unpleasant. You can easily spot her but really they should train their employees better. read more

I just recently purchased a bouquet of Red Panther Roses for my wife since we were celebrating our anniversary in different states. I scoured the website for a few days to find the perfect arrangement. The website is easy to navigate and they even had delivery available on the day I needed to arrive, which also happens to be Christmas Eve. How awesome! The delivery driver tried to deliver but my wife was on her way back to the house, called the driver and he came back around and delivered the flower arrangement. My wife loved them she said that they were the most beautiful set of roses I had ever gotten her. They lasted much longer than your normal rose, these lasted for almost two weeks before they started to wilt. My grandma recently went into surgery and my dad wanted to gift her some of her favorite flowers for her recovery! The ordering experience was an easy and good process, I told my dad the Erupting Hawaiian Tropic's bouquet (for around $120 I believe) was a good choice because my grandma loves birds of paradise. As the delivery man handed me my flowers I right off the bat was able to notice wilting. I was shocked because I would expect PERFECT condition flowers after my dad paid full price for these flowers. Needed some flowers for my granddaughter's hula performance and just couldn't anything fitting for her. I decided to check Watanabe Floral in Waipahu. I wasn't sure if they were still open since the pandemic. There have been so many small businesses closing down since the pandemic which is so sad. To my surprise Watanabe Floral was still in the same location and they were open! Watanabe Floral to the rescue....We have purchased tons of flowers over the years from Watanabe Floral for many special occasions like proms, my wedding and even Mother's Day. It's nice that there is a location on the Westside. Thus shop is so cute, tiny but cute. You are greeted with a smile and the smell of beautiful flowers. So many different types of flowers. I was like a kid in a candy store. As I looked at all the beautiful flowers I found the perfect bunch. Lavender roses.... My granddaughter's favorite color. I had memories of Watanabe Floral being a large warehouse with flowers galore, coming here for every life event that deserved flowers or a lei. Before any graduation, hula performance, or Tutu's birthday- Watanabe Floral was the flower spot of my childhood. It had been years since I had last been to Watanabe Floral when I came recently for some Valentine's Day flower arrangements. I loved the variety of flowers here, especially in the walk-in refrigerated section. There are prices for retail and wholesale, with the wholesale prices observed being a lot cheaper. I wasn't buying enough flowers to get those wholesale prices, but if I was in the market for a ton of flowers- this is where I'd go. I really loved the tropical selection with more uncommon flowers and tropical leaves like monstera, ti leaf, and calathea. I made an arrangement that was a mix of traditional carnations and baby breath along with ginger flowers and arthrums. There is more than just flowers here at Watanabe Floral- it's also part gift shop. The kitchy gift shop vibes aren't my thing but there is a rather large selection if it is yours. read more

So, recently I ordered a bouquet to be delivered. I ordered it on Wednesday February 26, 2025 to be delivered on Thursday March 06, 2025 between 8AM - 12pm. I paid already paid a fee for it to be delivered during said time. On Thursday February 27, 2025, I received an email from some lady at Guest Services stating that I would have to pay another $20 on top of the $20 I ALREADY paid in order for it to be delivered during the times I requested. I then called the number shown below her name on the email she sent me and informed her that I already paid a fee for the bouquet to be delivered during 8AM - 12PM. She then explains to me that it actually costs $40 and not $20 and I would need to pay an extra $20. I told her that I ordered a bouquet on Valentine's Day for the same time frame (8AM - 12PM) and only had to pay $20. No one called/emailed me about it being $40 during that time.. Why is it different this time? She then puts me on hold then comes back and tells me that there was an error in the system and that it actually costs $40, not $20 but they'll waive it this time. I told her well, you guys need to change the pricing on the website then because thats false advertisement. She then gives me attitude and says "Yea Yea Yea. Its fine. We know.." Long story short, I got my order during the time I requested and they waived this mysterious extra $20 fee. Although, I felt scammed, misled and when I called for clarification, all I got was attitude. If you guys changed your prices then, it should reflect on the website. I really wanted a Haku for my gender reveal and a friend recommended Watanabe flowers. I did some research and I found that they offered a beautiful Haku for the best price in comparison to some other shops. I was beyond pleased. I picked it up on a Friday afternoon before 4pm. Used it all day Saturday from 6am through 9pm and it held up in amazing shape! The colors were beautiful and vibrant. The flowers were fresh and you could tell the amazing work they had done on it. Beyond pleased with my purchase. I selected an adult size that has a ribbon you can tie and adjust as needed. They also offer it in smaller sizes for children. When it comes to floral arrangements or leis, Watanabe Floral is usually my go-to florist shop. So when I needed Maile leis for my boys graduation I didn't hesitate to call Watanabe Floral. But since I was limited with time due to party planning, I decided to hit up the Waipahu location which is closer to me. Normally I would go to Nimitz. After picking up the leis, I noticed the containers they were in seemed unusually light in weight. I thought I picked up the wrong order but the containers were marked "Maile" on them so I didn't think anything of it. At my boys grad celebration, I was truly embarrassed to see that the leis were missing a lot of leaves and looked very old. It was not what I expected at all! I was very unhappy having to present the leis to my boys. Unfortunately I didn't have any other leis for them so I had them use these unpleasant looking leis. I honestly think that if I pay for service, I should get what I paid for. I wasn't aware that $60 for each lei would get me old looking leis. read more

Have been looking for peonies since beginning of the year. It's my wife's favorite flower, and hard to come by. Couple florists from Yelp told me to inquire with Watanabe for Mother's Day. Sure enough they had, price was no object, and when I 1st seen them they were still a bulb. Salesperson informed they will open up, but I wasn't too sure if it would by Mother's Day. Oh well, decided to still get it since Watanabe's was the only place that had them. Still will be worth it even if it opens up after Mother's Day. Picked them up on Saturday, and to our surprise they were full bloom come Sunday morning. Located by the Arby's and Jack in The Box, tucked in the corner of a business complex, parking wasn't bad at all and easy to access from Kamehameha Highway, it was a quick stop for us. We had a last minute errand to pick up a floral bouquet and boutonnière for a wedding and called to see if it can be done in such short notice and be ready in a few hours...well forces were with us today this 4th day in May when I spoke to Kathy and she made miracles happen for us! We ordered a 6 long stemmed rose flower bouquet with a matching boutonniere lavishly clustered with baby breaths and added a maile lei (Hawaiian lei of Royalty) and a coveted fragrant Pakalana lei to our order for a very special couple on their wedding day! Overall fairly satisfied with Watanabe floral. I recently hired them to make my wedding bouquet and a boutonniere for my husband. I found them to be fairly affordable especially since a lot of florist raised their prices due to consequences of the pandemic. The flowers in my bouquet were EXACTLY what I wanted but I was a little disappointed with how droopy the greenery in my bouquet was by the end of the night despite being in AC and in water for the majority of the wedding. Not as a big deal but the bouquet was also slightly lopsided. I was also pretty disappointed with the boutonniere... The flower was NOT what was agreed upon. I was told when making my order that the flowers may not be exactly what we discussed but if there were any changes, that would be communicated beforehand. No one had ever contacted me about the changes. The flower ended up being a garden rose which in my opinion is too big for a boutonniere. We could not stop it from looking droopy due to it being top heavy. Also the fillers that were used were leaving white residue/pollen all over my husbands suit so I was constantly brushing him off throughout the night. Being one of the major floral suppliers here I'll probably be back again but never will I let someone else accept my order. read more

Where do I even begin my story of trying to get a Mother's Day flower delivery in Hawaii from CA?! I first ordered flowers in April 15th via 1800flowers website for an early Mother's day flower delivery in early May. Lo and behold, no flower was delivered yet I was charged. Customer Service put me on hold for 2 hrs, then they hung up on me and never responded to any of my emails requesting my order status.
