Absolutely the poorest customer service. I am still on hold while writing this review. I initiated phone calls this morning at 0830 this morning, it is now 1041 and have not received any help. Just transferred from Michigan to many other departments and even one of the customer service employees stated she got transferred to the wrong department twice while trying get to the customer service here in Sonora Ca. The rudest, worst customer service ever. I called because after the garbage truck passed through, my can was still half full. The rep boasted that the trucks all have cameras now and spent an age claiming to watch video of my house. First, he tried to convince me that I hadn't even put out my can. Then he started yelling at me that the video showed bags falling out of my can and there is no possible way it could still be half full. Who are these people they are employing? Extremely dissatisfied with the service form waste management. After three weeks of not having my trash picked up (understandable, since the weather was pretty bad) I called and they told me that I should leave the extra bags from the past few weeks outside the full trash can. I left 5 extra bags, I was then told that they filled up the trash bin two more times and left the remaining bags. I am very upset at the service with waste management. They have refused to honor their old policy where they pick up things outside the can, including furniture that doesn't fit, which they have always done at my address and have proof of. They also expect me to do their job and take the items in MY vehicle and ruin MY trunk and take it to the dump with a "complimentary dump pass." Or they will schedule another pickup for all items (including what they claimed they wouldn't pick up), but they will charge extra. First off, worst customer service from Hetty and her team, rude, unprofessional, and just bad business. Second, I shouldn't have to PAY you for the 2 weeks you refused service that I already paid for and an ADDITIONAL fee for your people not doing their jobs. Also I should not have to do their job for them. Hetty would not listen to the explanations and is causing a health hazard for me and my neighbors for refusing to do her job unless I pay extra. Rude on the phone. Randomly picks up cans and refuses to correct their own errors. 4 weeks now with no recycling pickup even with reminder calls. Only thing they do right is send out bills on time. They are make sure they charge for all missed pickups. Don't even get me started on their behind the gate service for the handicapped. They must hate handicapped people for some reason. I live in Willow Springs, Soulsbyville and my regular driver and pick up guy are fantastic! They bust their behinds and double work when they're short staffed. Covid-19 hurt them really bad. Many staff folks were prohibited from working due to symptoms or positive tests. That meant the existing staff had to pick up the slack on a moments notice. The only reason I didn't give them a 5 star review was because of the annoying emails I get telling me my pick up has been rescheduled for the following day despite the fact that I was already picked up right on time and on the correct day. They won't answer the phone! I have called this place numerous times on separate occasions. The DMV and IRS has better customer service than this place. You would think as a paying customer you get information. Nope. I called for 3 days and left my phone on speaker for about an hour each time during there regular business hours. No answer! I drove to the office because I couldn't get through. Once there the receptionist's don't even acknowledge I'm there. The phones ring like once then they push a button so it won't ring anymore and swear they won't pick it up. There totally sitting there on there computers looking at something and chatting back and forth. I say excuse me are you guys on break? One lady says we'll be with you in a few minutes. The garbage service in my neighborhood has been top notch. Every now and then I wake up to my trash being tossed everywhere from the local Bear going through the neighborhood. Most of the time my driver will dump whatever is left in the can and occasionally pick up some of the garbage left on the ground. I have read some of these reviews and it baffles me that some people expect them to be thier janitor or pick up after a bear or animal has got into the can. Really? In my 53 years of living on the East Coast, MidSouth, and West Coast, I have never had worse garbage service than I do from Waste Management in Sonora. When I first moved here, they repeatedly didn't pick up my garbage at all, week after week. I had to call customer service repeatedly to complain. Also, I pay extra for someone to come up to my house, pick up the cans, then return them to my house (instead of leaving them on my street). I now have a broken foot, and the last two times they have picked up, they have left the cans on the street where I can't get them due to my foot and sloped driveway. I would call and complain again, but what is the point? The service never gets better no matter how many times I call, how many supervisors I talk to, or how many surveys I fill out online. Wow...Waste Management is the strongest example of the abuses of monopoly capitalism I have experienced. "Customer service" is a misnomer with this company. At my previous residence in San Diego, I paid Edco, the locally owned garbage remover, less than I pay WM, and received double the service. Garbage and recycling were picked up weekly, along with up to three large containers of green waste every week. WM picks up recycling only every other week, and does not pickup green waste. WM clearly profiteers on the backs of the residents local greater Sonora area. It is so bad in my area that residents hire a private individual to dispose of their trash--paid by the bag. Who knows where that trash ends up? WM also plays games with your account in which the fee for recycling is listed as "0" (free). Huh? Perhaps this gives WM legal cover for erratic service, a labyrinthine website, and absent phone response, all the while you listen to the cheerful, patronizing voice that promises to be with you soon 20 minutes into the wait time. read more

This company is a joke. I signed up for service on 2/1/19. The driver did not bring trash containers for new customer on the first day of service. I stop the driver on the street and stated that he not the normal driver but will make sure I get new trash containers. No trash pick up on 2/8, nor trash pickup on 2/15 nor 2/22, when I call. All they do is asked would you like to leave a message, left many message but they never call you back. I been trying to cancel the account for non-service but they do not answer their phone nor do they pick up your trash, nor do they call you back. The only department that can get something done, is the billing department because the bill came right away, they bill you and want payment, but they do not pick up the trash....it does not work that way, you need to give a service to get paid...I still on hold over an hour today....my advice to any new people moving into town buy a dump sticker. read more
